The object of this research was to examine the difference of the usage and activity of muscles according to the direction of the tennis ball is hit during a forehand-stroke through an EMG analysis. The EMG of 6 female tennis players was measured. 'Mega Win V.2.3.1 software program' was used and the wireless EMG meter 'ME6000 P8 Measurement Unit' was connected to capture the electric signal as the surface electrode. Stroke was divided into 3 phase, and paired t-test has been done to examine the difference of the factor that changes the EMG. Based on the results of research above, following answers were obtained. During the back-stroke phase, the %MVIC value on biceps brachii, triceps brachii, deltoids, and rectus abdominis slightly higher when they made a straight-court versus a cross-court-hit but there was not a statistically meaningful difference. During the forward-swing phase, the %MVIC value on triceps brachii, rectus abdominis, and flexor carpi ulnaris were higher when they made a straight-hit than a cross-court-hit, which was a meaningful difference statistically. During a follow-though phase, the %MVIC value on biceps brachii and deltoids appeared to be higher when they made a straight-hit, and the %MVIC value on flexor carpi ulnaris was higher when they made a cross-court-hit.

Along with socioeconomic development and improving standard of living, the heat demand for heating and cooling in residential and commercial sectors is expected to expand rapidly, reaching over 43 million TOE by 2010 in Korea(about 80% increase compared with that in 1995). Since most of this heat demand is low temperature below 60℃, the utilization of ""unused energy"" is surely one of very effective measures to both environmental preservation and energy conservation. ""Unused energy"" in this paper is implicated as ""temperature differential energy"" available from treated sewage water, useful and abundant heat source for heat pump(cooler in summer and warmer in winter than outside air). An analysis was carried out to estimate the energy potential of treated sewage water for heat pump heat source. Some analysis were taken to study the characteristics of a heat pump system using the treated sewage water as heat source.

Heat pumps are used for air-conditioning systems in commercial buildings, schools, and factories because of low operating and maintenance costs. These systems use the earth as a heat source in heating mode and a heat sink in cooling mode. Ground heat exchangers are classified by a horizontal type and vertical type according to the installation method. A horizontal type means that a heat exchanger is laid in the trench bored in 1.2 to 1.8 m depth. And a vertical type is usually constructed by placing small diameter high density polyethylene tube in a vertical borehole. Vertical tube sizes range from 20 to 40 mm nominal diameter. Borehole depth range between 100 and 200 m depending on local drilling conditions and available equipment. In this study, to evaluate the performance of single u-tube with bentonite grouting, single u-tube with broken stone grouting and double n-tube bentonite grouting of vertical ground heat exchangers, test sections are buried on the earth and experimental apparatus is installed. Therefore the heat transfer performance and pressure loss of these are estimated.
