The purpose of this study is to propose a effective listening Instructional Model and class activities to improve the Academic listening ability of foreign undergraduate students to actively carry out academic activities in university. First, in Chapter 2, we examined the characteristics of listening to lectures and the subject core competence needed in University education, and considered the specificity of Academic listening lessons, cultivating academic purpose capacity, and learner's self-directness as a core competency based academic listening instruction model. In Section 3, we propose a instructional model for listening to lectures based on core competency, and in Chapter 4, we present examples of class activities needed to develop these competencies. 이 연구는 외국인 학부생이 대학에서 이루어지는 학업 활동을 능동적으로 수행할 수 있는 강의 듣기 능력 향상을 위한 수업 모형과 수업 활동을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 먼저 2장에서는 강의 듣기의 특징과 대학 교육에서 필요한 범교과적인 역량과 교과 역량을 검토하여 역량 기반 강의 듣기 수업 모형의 원리로서 강의 듣기의 특수성 고려, 강의 듣기 역량 함양, 학습자의 자기주도성을 추출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 3장에서는 역량 기반 강의 듣기 수업 모형을 제안하였으며, 4장에서는 이들 역량을 키우기 위해 필요한 수업 활동의 예를 단계별로 제시하였다.

With a steady increase in the number of international studentsattending Korean universities, various studies have emerged to addressthese students ’ approach to academic Korean. Most of the studieshave focused extensively on reading and writing, with few lookingbeyond to what is required in regards to academic listening. Theability to listen to lectures has a decisive effect on learning and academicachievement in universities. However, a large number of internationalstudents tend to perceive listening as the easiest of the languageskills, because they do not distinguish between general listening andlecture listening. Due to the difficulties in lecture listening, directlyassociated with understanding lecture contents, many students tend tofall behind early in the semester and resort to dropping courses andfail to graduate. The purpose of this article is to assess the perceptionsand needs of first year international students in terms of academiclistening. The perceptions and needs of the students to lecturesatisfaction. We strived to assess factors associated with competencyin academic listening in order to build a curriculum for effectivelecture listening for academic purposes.
자색 마령서 에탄올 추출물의 비만 및 고지혈증 억제효능

This experimental study was performed to evaluate the effects of ehtanol extract of Purple Solanum tuberosum L(EPSTL) on obesity and hyperlipidemia in rats induced by high fat diet. Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into normal group, control group, EPSTL (100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg) treated group. EPSTL was orally administered to the obese rats by high fat diet for 6 weeks. The effect of EPSTL on obesity and hyperlipidemia were examined in vitro and in vivo as follows : EPSTL effectively inhibited the differentiation of 3T3-L1 adipocytes in a concentration dependent manner. EPSTL significantly lowered body weight of rats fe high fat diet for 6 weeks from 4 weeks treatment compared with untreated control. EPSTL significantly reduced the weight of retroperitoneal fat only at 100 mg/kg and epididymal fat pad in rats fed high fat diet for 4 weeks at 100 and 200 mg/kg. EPSTL significantly reduced the level of triglyceride at 200 mg/kg, while EPSTL tended to lower the levels of total lipid and phospholipid in rats fed high fat diet for 4 weeks with no significance. EPSTL significantly attenuated the level of total cholesterol, LDL and atherosclerosis index (Al) as well as increased the level of HDL at 200 mg/kg. EPSTL significantly reduced the levels of total lipid and triglyceride of hepatic tissues in rats fed high fat diet for 4 weeks at 200 mg/kg. EPSTL significantly lowered the level of insulin, while it did not affect leptin compared with untreated control. Taken together, these results suggest that EPSTL can be used for the treatment or prevention of hyperlipidemia and obesity.

The purpose of this study is to develop an academic listening curriculum based on core competency. Traditionally, since learning involved obtaining static and absolute knowledge and skills, the structure of knowledge played a major role in the curriculum. However, a rapidly changing society requires efficient problem-solving abilities regardless of circumstances. Therefore, attention has now shifted to core competencies in developing curricula. First, in order to develop a Korean academic listening curriculum, the concept and traits of core competencies will be revisited. Second, we will identify implications from the cases of curricula based on core competencies and establish the direction of developing our curriculum. Third, we will show how the Korean academic listening curriculum of Sungkyunkwan university is developed based on the core competency approach.
