Contamination of ion from cathode air on the membrane and electrode assembly (MEA) is the serious degradation source in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC). In this study, concentration of ions in air at industry region, street and seaside were measured, There were comparably high concentration of Na+, K+, Ca2+ and Fe3+ in this regions, This paper shows the effects of MEA contamination by these ions generated from humidification water. After 170 hours of fuel cell operation using city water as humidification water, the performance of unit cell decrease to 11% of initial performance. The electrolyte membrane easily absorbed foreign contaminant cations due to the stronger affinity of foreign cations with the sulfonic acid group compared to H+. The contaminant ions existing in the interface between the platinum catalyst and ionomer layer turn out to be the most serious factor to decrease cell performance.

An experimental study of zinc wastewater treatment was conducted by standard zinc solutions. Most of zinc in wastewater was removed by calcium hydroxide solution. Used inorganic flocculant showed low adsorption quantity of zinc in wastewater compared to that of calcium hydroxide. From this study we suggest that zinc wastewater can be treated in two-step method. The first step is precipitation of zinc wastewater by calcium hydroxide solution. Most of zinc can be removed by this step. Next step is flocculation of the remainder zinc in wastewater by inorganic flocculant to meet the regulation.
TPD Chromatogram의 해석에 관한 연구 - Ⅰ

A theoretical study of TPD chromatogram was carried out theoretically. From this result we concluded that TPD chromatogrom is influenced by desorption kinetics, desorption activation energy and whether readsorption exists or not. Also variations of desorption activation energy with coverage influences the TPD chromatogram. Linear of hyperbolic heating schedule of the experiment is little influencing to the TPD chromatogram.

A theortical and experimental study of TPD experiments was carried out. From this result we concluded that TPD chromatogram is influenced by desorption kinetics, desorption activation energy. Also variations of desorption activation energy with coverage influences the TPD chromatogram. Shape of the catalyst and temperature gradient within the catalyst are strongly influence on the chromatograms of the experiments.
H-ZSM-5 촉매상에서 메탄올로부터 Dimethyl ether 생성반응에 관한 실험 연구

This study is to prepare ZSM5 catalyst. to examine its characteristics, reactivity and to apply it to the methanol conversion reaction. Reaction experiment was conducted in a packedbed differential reactor under the conditions of negligible mass transfer resistance and sufficiently low conversion. Within the range of the experimental conditions the reaction was found to follow the singlesite mechanism and ratedetermining was adsorption of methanol. Thus it was possible to express the reaction rate equation in the EleyRideal type.
