??The existing rehabilitation systems were developed to exercise specific joints only. Therefore rehabilitating the various joints of human, various kinds of devices are need. To overcome these defects, this paper proposed the CMRS, an integrated system that performs various rehabilitation exercises. The characteristics of motion and the positions between human body and the system were investigated with the kinematics analysis of upper and lower limb of human body. We presented a proper mechanism to develop a rehabilitation device on the base of the study and studied the relative positions between head part and human joints. Through the simulations, the possibility of rehabilitation system was verified. And the base frame was also developed for convenient and stable position control. Finally, the CMRS was developed as an 8 degree of freedom mechanism. It is expected that the CMRS will be applied to the rehabilitations of various joints.

After ACL reconstruction. abrasion or wear of graft appeared frequently because of contact stresses between femoral tunnel and ACL. To minimize these problems. optimal shape of femoral tunnel is necessary. In this study. we evaluate friction force by degree of wear due to abrasion of soft tissue and develop 3-dimensional FEM model using ANSYS 5.5.1 version to analyze stress growths between femoral tunnel and ACL, We conclude that femoral tunnel angle must be slacked parallel to tunnel direction to minimize contact stress.

A new pump used in arthroscopy surgery was developed. The pump is driven by pneumatic air compressor and controlled by a stepper motor connected to an air regulator. Pressure control performance was observed to be similar compared to commercially available artheroscopy pumps. However, pressure pulses observed in the commercial pumps driven by multiple rollers disappeared in the pneumatically driven pump. The new pump required containers to enclose and squeeze saline solution packs. A dramatic saving in manufacture cost is expected considering the simple pneumatic drive used in this pump.

The serum lipid contents, i.e. total cholesterol, phospholipids and triglycerides were determining at various time intervals after allowing inhalation of carbon tetrachloride to control rabbits and those administered Ginseng for 8 weeks. At the same time, comparison was made between the control and Ginseng-fed animals in regard to the liver lipids determined. 1) The elevation of serum total cholesterol and triglyceride contents were less marked in Ginseng-fed than in the control. 2) Although no marked change was observed in serum phospholipid contents in the control at Ginseng-fed, a slight increase was noted in the latter. 3) The lipids in the liver tissue were generally elevated in both control and Ginseng fed, the elevation being less marked in the Ginseng-fed animals.
