All the governments of developed countries are paying subsides directly and indirectly for developing their aircraft industry. WTO allows these government subsides by the additional clause for civil aircraft industry. Airbus, the european large commercial aircraft manufacturing company which is composed of French, Dutch, United Kingdom and Spain, has been payed subsidies very much money by their governments from the time of establishment of the company. As the result, Airbus created the competitiveness in the global large commercial aircraft market. These subsides caused bilateral agreement in large civil aircraft industry between EU and USA in 1992. Boeing, the another competitor in the large commercial aircraft market, has been supplied funding indirectly by the USA government. Especially, B767, B777 and B787 large commercial aircrafts which were cooperative developed with Japan by strategic alliance have been payed subsidies by Japan government. Recently, B787 of boeing and A350 of airbus development plans are causing the new subsidy disputes. These subsidy disputes are full suggestive of S. Korea's government as follows: Korea government needs to make high speed to develop aircraft industry before joining WTO aircraft members.

This study is focused on the competitions and strategy types of the domestic airlines in Korean airliners which changed monopoly to oligopoly after 1990s. In oligopoly, the entry of new competitor makes very high level of competing environment compares with non-competition circumstances. The results of this study show some characteristics. First, these two firms followed Bertrant type`s strategy and the tendency of the firm B is higher than firm A. This result is very different from the established studies which stand the oligopoly firms followed Cournot type`s strategy. Second, two firms show different strategy from by the elasticity of demand each other. Firm A follows Cournot type`s strategy but firm B follows Bertrant type`s strategy by the higher elasticity of demand. Finally, Firm B, competing with Firm A, operates under the marginal returns equal zero and this factor causes the major barrier of firm B which can`t respond to the price competition of the firm A.
