The concentrated calcium removal from industrial wastewater by natural zeolite was examined to reduce inhibitory effects of those ions on the biological treatment in down-stream. It is well known that natural zeolite possesses good cation exchange capacity. Kinetic studies by using a batch-type methods demonstrated that the adopted particle size(1-2, 2-2.8, 2.8-4㎜) of zeolites showed similar exchange trends of calcium ions and showed relatively fast exchange reaction within 1 hour in spite of various zeolite dosages. The influence of the temperature on the ion-exchange capacity (isotherm) was examined. It was found that calcium exchange capacity(4.464㎎-Ca^2+/g-zeolite) at low temperature of 5℃ was double up to 9.225㎎-Ca^2+/g-zeolite at the range of 22-40℃. However, ion exchange efficiencies were similar at each condition of pH 6,7,8,10.

Calcium exchange by natural zeolite was investigated in relation to the coexistence of other cation (Na^+ and/or K^+). Although some zeolite (e.g., clinoptilolite) have a good affinity and selectivity for calcium ions, other cations in the solution have a negative impact on the calcium exchange. The exchange capacity decreased significantly according to the increase of Na^+ and/or K^+ concentrations, however the decreasing extent was not similar between two different ion species. It was estimated that K^+ possessed more affinity for the zeolites, resulting to obtain more exchange sites of zeolite in the competition. Also, sodium chloride was tested as the regeneration brine, and found that 3.8% of NaCl showed the optimal concentration for desorbing calcium ions.

In this paper, the data transmission and control technique in a μcomputer network is about the I/F card extension and the network operation. The network is the multipoint type that consists of the host computer (IBM PC) and the controller (Z-80 microprocessor): slot # 1=RS-232c I/F card. slot # 3=ST-34BUS I/F card. slot # 7=display & control I/F card. This system mainly will be used in the office automatic system, which is sent and received the data in the constituent network.

In order to achive optical planar layout, we propose an efficient algorithm to diminish the time and number of feasible solutions with the constraint conditions. By using simplex method, we obtain the various feasible solutions among these. In case the area constraints are not satisfied, the expansion methods are applied, in order to reduce the dead space within the module, an effective placement algorithm with shift the modules within the chip using dimensional relaxation is proposed.
