The subject of this study is to analyze the slope grade on a horizontal length against the height of Korean Traditional Buddhist Temples in the mountainous area. To study the topographical characteristics on such analysis and search the technology used for topographical characteristics and its features. Major result of search is summarized below ; 1. Most temples have ordinarily been topographically controlled, within the range of height below 20m, length 50-150m and slope degree 5-15°. The ratio of height and length shown in overall area of the temples is usually 1 : 10 but the actual ratio in the temples searched has shown 1 : 4-1 : 9. The result of the search shows that the overall topographical characteristics varies, depending upon the nature of the temples. 2. Temples searched show various types of topographical characteristics by each unit space, depending upon the nature of the temples. 3. The observation of the topographical control of temples' unit space shows that the height, length and slope degree are as the biggest in the entrance space. In the main space and auxiliary space, similar results in the height and length are seen but in the slope degree, the auxiliary space is formed a little more steeper than the main space.
