        DCI (Disciplined Civic Inquiry)를 활용한 세계시민교육의 이론과 실제: 미국 교실 수업 사례

        In consideration of the need for empirical research on instructional strategies for global citizenship education in the field of moral education in Korea, the researcher conducts a qualitative analysis of a case of global citizenship education observed in the U.S. high school classroom. By applying “think description,” emphasized in the tradition of qualitative research, this paper provides Korean readers with an opportunity to examine how Disciplined Civic Inquiry (DCI) would be useful as an educational strategy for global citizenship education despite the differences between South Korea and the U.S. in terms of educational culture and system. Before introducing a case of classroom lessons, the researcher explains the theoretical background of global citizenship education and then describes the historical background of disciplined inquiry in the field of social studies education in the U.S., along with characteristics of DCI. The case is then introduced and evaluated based on the official standards of good social studies instruction and the educational goals of global citizenship education. The paper concludes with a discussion of implications that this case has for Korean moral education. 본 연구자는 도덕과교육에서의 세계시민교육 전략에 관한 실천적 연구의 필요성에 깊이 공감하며, 본고에서 DCI (Disciplined Civic Inquriy)를 활용한 미국의 세계시민교육 교실 수업 사례에 대한 질적인 분석을 시도한다. 본 연구는 질적 연구 방법에서 강조하는“세밀한 묘사 (thick description)”에 충실함으로써, 한국과 미국의 교육 풍토 및 교육 제도의 차이에도 불구하고 세계시민교육의 교수전략으로서 DCI가 갖는 효용성을 독자들 스스로 진단해 볼 수 있는 기회를 제공할 것이다. 교실 수업 사례를 소개하기에 앞서, 본 연구자는 세계시민교육의 이론적 배경을 간략히 서술하고, DCI라는 다소 생소한 교수법에 대한 독자들의 이해를 돕고자 미국 사회과교육에서 훈련된 탐구 (Disciplined Inquiry)의 대두 배경 및 실제적 탐구의 한 양태로서 DCI의 특징에 대해 설명한다. 수업 사례에 대한 소개에 이어, 미국의 사회과에서 널리 통용되는 기준안 및 세계시민교육 지표에 비추어 본 수업 사례를 평가한 후, 이 사례가 한국 도덕과교육에 주는 시사점을 논의한다.

        갱년기 여성들의 폐경관리 수행에 대한 연구

        "This study was designed and carried out to describe the management of menopause of the climacteric-women and identify its predictors. The subjects of this study were 376 climacteric-women. They were conveniently sampled out in Chinju City. The instrument used for this study was the one which consisted of the revised general- self-efficacy scale developed by Sherer et.al.(1982), health locus scale developed by Wallston et. al.(1978), self-esteem scale developed by Rosenberg(1965) translated by Chon(1974), perceived- health-status question(with the subjects explaining the degree to which they practice health- promotion behavior), detailed-self efficacy scale developed by Song(1997), management of menopause scale developed by Song(1997), and the knowledge of menopause scale developed by Song(1983) as modified by this researcher. The data were collected from December 1996 to July 1997. The data were analyzed by using the Spss program. The information was obtained from Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, ANOVA, Duncans multiple comparision test and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The results were as Follows; i. Self-untrol(10.14+-2.84) was highest before menopause and after menopause. The results among the categories of manogement of menopause for before menopause, in descending order, were; management of sex life(7.42+-3.12), dietary management(7.20+-2.12), management of exercise and physical activity(6.34+-2.78), and management of professional health maintenance (5.20+ -2.10). 2. Among the categories of management of menopause for after menopause were; dietary management(7.01+-2.18), management of sex life(6.87+-4.74), management of exercise and activity(6.58+-3.89) and management of professional health maintenance(5.23+-2.74), again in descending order. 3. With regard to the relationship between management of menopause and all the independent variables, general self efficacy(r=0.4924, p<0.00), detailed self efficacy(r=0.4592, p<0.00), self-esteem(r=0.3734, p<0.00), knowledge of menopause(r=0.3692, p<0.00), powerful- others health ( CONTIUNE...... ) "

        A Critical Examination of the ways Researchers have Conceptualized Children’s Political Understanding and Participation

        Although a growing number of children take part in political actions in various ways, Korean society seems to be without consensus on what forms of civic/political actions are desirable or allowable for such young students. Educational researchers could contribute to this ongoing discussion by deepening our knowledge of children’s civic/political understanding and participation. However, existing research has not settled on any single theoretical lens for approaching this topic area. What theoretical framework would help educational researchers better understand this topic? This paper is intended to lay some of the groundwork for answering this question by examining the ways that scholars have conceptualized children’s political understanding and participation, particularly in the field of psychology and childhood studies.

        기독교 아동 문학을 활용한 인성 교육의 가능성 탐색: C.S. 루이스의 『나니아 연대기』를 중심으로

        Traditionally, literature-based character education programs have been widely used for children’s character development. The purpose of this study is to reveal the character educational value of Christian children's literature, which has not received much attention despite the high correlation between religion and morality, and to explore ways to utilize it for character education. As a theoretical foundation for character education using Christian children's literature, drawing on Aristotle's virtue ethics, the content of virtue, which is the foundation of desirable character, was identified first, and the essence and role of virtue that aids in the realization of human nature was highlighted. To supplement the limitations of Aristotle's virtue ethics, this study proposes the integration of the self and identity based on a transcendental narrative by relying on the moral identity theory and narrative approach. In addition, being inspired by Aquinas' virtue ethics, this study suggests the pursuit of telos based on common grace while acknowledging the need for God's grace in the pursuit of happiness through the realization of virtue. Subsequently, the curriculum and educational effects of the UK's Narnian Virtues project using C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia were introduced, and the possibilities and limitations of character education using Christian children's literature were explored. 전통적으로 문학 작품은 인성 형성을 위한 교육적 소재로 널리 활용되어 왔다. 본 연구는 지금까지 종교와 도덕의 높은 연관성에도 불구하고 크게 주목받지 못했던 기독교 아동 문학이 지닌 인성 교육적 가치를 밝히고 그것의 교육적 활용 방안을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 기독교 아동 문학을 활용한 인성 교육의 이론적 토대로서 먼저 아리스토텔레스의 덕 윤리에 근거하여 바람직한 인성의 토대가 되는 덕의 내용을 파악하고, 인간 본성의 실현을 돕는 덕의 본질과 역할을 조명하였다. 아리스토텔레스의 덕 윤리가 지닌 한계를 보완하기 위해, 도덕적 정체성 이론과 내러티브적 접근을 토대로 초월적 내러티브에 기반한 자아와 정체성의 통합을 제안하고, 아퀴나스의 덕 윤리에 착안하여 일반 은총에 힘입은 텔로스의 추구를 제안하였다. 이어서 C.S. 루이스의 『나니아 연대기』를 활용한 영국의 나니아 미덕 프로젝트의 커리큘럼과 교육적 효과를 소개하며, 기독교 아동 문학을 활용한 인성 교육의 가능성과 한계를 조망하였다.

        폐경관리를 위한 교육프로그램 개발과 그 효과에 관한 연구

        The two objectives of this study were 1) to develop an educational program based on the Self-Efficacy Theory(SET) of Bandura, and 2) to investigate the effects of the educational program on the management of menopause. The investigation process of this study was done in two phases. The first phase was to development an educational program through video tape. A telephone coaching program served as a follow-up to the educational video program and provided encouragement and support to the subjects. The second phase was the experimental stage. This experimentation was conducted to determine whether an educational program based on theory of Bandura would increase self-efficacy and management of menopause. Results : The developed video consisted of 2 parts. Part one discussed symtoms and management of menopause. Part two reflected the vicarious step-by-step success of middle-aged women's of menopause through the effective use of the 5 factors mentioned above. Telephone coaching program served as a followed to the educational video program and provided encouragement and support to the subjects. Total length of video is 32 minutes. Hypothesis stated in phase two were supported by the following result. Experimental group increased general-self-efficacy scores. Experimental group increased concrete-self-efficacy scores. Experimental group increased objective and subjective management of menopause scale.

        폐경관리를 위한 효능대증진 프로그램 개발과 그 효과에 관한 연구

        The two objectives of this study were 1) to develop an efficacy expectation promoting program for the management of menopause based on the self-efficacy theory of Bandura(1977), and 2) to investigate the effects of the efficacy expectation promoting program for the management of menopause. The first phase was to development an efficacy expectation promoting program through video tape. A telephone coaching program served as a follow-up to the efficacy expectation promoting program which provided encouragement and support to the subjects. The second phase was the experimental stage. This experimentation was conducted to determine whether an efficacy expectation promoting program based on theory of Bandura would increase the self-efficacy and the management of menopause. Results : The video which we developed consisted of 2 parts. Part one discussed the symptoms and the management of menopause. Part two reflected the vicarious step-by-step success of middle-aged women's menopause management. The telephone coaching program served as a follow up to the efficacy expectation promoting program and provided encouragement and support to the subjects. The total length of the video is 50 minutes. The hypotheses stated in phase two were supported by following results : In the two experimental groups consisting of the natural and artificial menopause groups both demonstrated significant increase in their general and concrete self-efficacy scores. In the experimental groups, both the objective and subjective menopause management scores increased in the natural and artificial menopause experimental groups. In conclusion, it was found that an efficacy expectation promoting program was an effective nursing intervention for increasing self-efficacy and man-agreement of menopause.

        도덕 발달과 문화의 교차점 탐색

        This study introduces A. L. Jensen's cultural-developmental approach as a useful perspective to study the moral development of children and adolescents in consideration of the socio-cultural context. This approach presents the development path of autonomy, community, and divinity ethics suggested by Schweder based on the existing moral development theory and related preceding research results. In this study, we examine empirical studies conducted in various cultures using a cultural-developmental approach and discuss their implications for setting goals and teaching and learning methods for moral education. This study raises the importance of children's daily experiences, the social and physical environment around them, and the importance of social communication with key people around them in moral education. Furthermore, this study proposes goals of moral education from the perspective of a 'coexistence model'. Finally, as a suggestion for future research, the need for an operational definition of 'culture,' a meaningful unit of analysis, the importance of research to reveal cultural processes, considerations in designing research, and the importance of capturing indigenous people's perspectives and concepts are discussed. 본 연구는 사회문화적 맥락을 고려하여 아동 및 청소년의 도덕 발달을 연구하는데 유익한 관점으로서 젠슨(A. L. Jensen)의 문화-발달적 접근을 소개한다. 이 접근은 기존의 도덕 발달 이론과 관련 경험 연구 결과들을 토대로 슈웨더가 제시한 자율성, 공동체, 신성 윤리의 발달 경로를 제시하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 문화-발달적 접근을 취한 다양한 문화권의 경험 연구들을 살펴보고, 그것이 도덕과 교육의 목표 설정 및 교수·학습 방법과 관련하여 갖는 시사점을 논의한다. 본 연구는 공존 모델의 관점에서 도덕과 교육의 목표를 제언하고, 아동의 일상생활 속 경험과 아동을 둘러싼 사회적·물리적 환경, 그리고 사회적 의사소통의 도덕 교육적 중요성을 논의한다. 끝으로, 후속 연구를 위한 제언으로 ‘문화’에 대한 조작적 정의의 필요성, 의미있는 분석의 단위, 문화적 과정을 밝히는 연구의 중요성, 연구 디자인 설계 시 고려할 점, 원주민의 관점 및 개념 포착의 중요성을 강조한다.

      • 성격과 월경전기증후군과의 관계에 관한 연구

        This study was planned and carried out to investigate the correlation between premenstrual syndrome and personality in order to provide informations basic to the prevention, alleviation, and care for the premenstrual syndrome. Data on premenstrual syndrome were gathered from October 10 to 15, 1989 by questionnaire modified by the researcher based on Moos's Premenstrual Assessment Form and the Wallston's Health Locus of Control (HLC) scale whose reliability, validity had been checked out and translated, modified by Hong Eun-Yung to be adapted to koreans, so this method was used as a measuring apparatus personality. Subjects numbered 93, they are sophomore of nursing college located in Chinju. The correlation and difference between personality traits and premenstrual syndromes analysed by ANOVA and multiple regression. The results are as follows; 1. External locus of control in personality rates (81.7 %a) are higher than internal locus of control in personality (18.3 %). 2. The 4 highist categories of permenstrual syndrome among 8 categories were revealed to be pain, negative affect, behavioral change, concentration in rank order. 3. No significant correlation between personality and permenstrual syndrome -was revealed. 4. No significant correlation between personality and premenstrual syndrome among 8 categories was revealed.
