Recently, the livestock industry in Korea was heavily affected by the outbreak of official livestock diseases such as foot and mouse disease, high pathogenic avian influenza, swine influenza, and so on. It has been established that these diseases are being spread through direct contact, droplet and airborne transmission. Among these transmissions, airborne transmission is very complex in conducting field investigation due to the invisibility of the pathogens and unstable weather conditions. In this study, the airborne transmission was thoroughly investigated inside a pig house by conducting tracer gas ($CO_2$) experiment because experiment with real pathogen is limited and dangerous. This is possible as it can be assumed that the flow is similar pattern very fine particles and gas. In the experiment, the ventilation structure as well as the location of gas emission were varied. The $CO_2$ detection sensors were installed at 0.5 and 1.3 m height from the floor surface. The tracer gas level was measured every second. Results revealed that the direction of spread can be determined by the response time. Response time refers to the time to reach 150 ppm from the gas emission source at each measuring points. The location of the main flow as well as the gas emission was also found to be very important factor causing the spread.

국내 양돈산업에 있어 2010년 12월에 발생한 구제역 사례에서도 확인할 수 있듯 질병에 의한 농가 및 관련 산업의 경제적 및 정신적 피해가 매우 심각하다. 질병이 전파되는 양상 중에서 공기를 통한 전파의 경우 눈에 보이지 않는 에어로졸에 질병이 부착되어 멀리 확산되고, 감염력이 높은 질병의 경우 하나의 에어로졸에 부탁된 바이러스에 의해서도 감염이 발생하기 때문에 관련된 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 하지만 현장실험을 통한 연구는 바이러스를 대상으로 하기 때문에 엄격히 통제된 환경에서 수행되어야 하며, 공기 중 바이러스를 포집하는데 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 돈사 내에서 환기구조 별로 형성되는 공기 기류를 따라 전파되는 질병의 이동 메커니즘을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 포집의 어려움과 질병 유출의 위험성이 있는 실제 바이러스를 대체하여 선행 실험으로 이산화탄소 가스를 이용하여 돈사 내에서 확산되는 바이러스의 공기 중 전파를 모의하였다. 실험은 농림수산검역검사본부(구, 수의과학검역원) 내의 실험돈사에서 진행되었으며, 3개의 입기구 위치, 3개의 이산화탄소 발생 위치, 2개의 입기구 높이 등 총 18개 케이스에 대하여 실험을 반복 수행하였다. 돈사 내부의 돈방에서 이산화탄소를 주입하여 돈사 내부의 총 20개 포인트에 설치한 이산화탄소 농도 측정기에 데이터를 초단위로 실시간 기록하였다. 이 때 돈사 내부의 환기량은 0.33 min<sup>-1</sup>으로 입기구에서의 유속은 6.5 mㆍs<sup>-1</sup>이었으며, 이산화탄소는 20Lㆍmin<sup>-1</sup>의 유량으로 돈사 내부의 이산화탄소 농도가 균일해지는 시간까지 주입하였다. 이를 통하여 시간에 따른 위치별 이산화탄소 농도와 각 위치에서 일정 농도에 도달할 때까지의 시간(도달시간)을 살펴보았다. 각 케이스에서 최대 농도값은 800~6000 ppm으로 나타났으며, 가장 높은 농도값을 보인 케이스는 입기구와 배기구가 일직선으로 위치한 경우였으며, 가장 낮은 농도값을 보인 케이스는 입기구와 배기구가 대각선으로 놓인 케이스였다. 각 케이스에서 최대 농도가 나타나기까지 걸린 시간은 약 5~10분 사이였으며, 입기구의 높이(2 m, 1.2 m)에 따른 가스확산의 차이는 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 위와 같은 결과를 통하여 빠른 시간에 질병의 검출이 가능한 3번 돈방의 위치가 적정 포집 위치인 것으로 판단하였다. 이와 같은 결과는 추후 적정한 바이러스 측정 장비를 사용한 정기 모니터링을 통하여 질병의 초기 발생을 빠르게 파악하기 위한 샘플러의 적정한 위치를 제시할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Duodenal diverticula are common, but perforated duodenal diverticulum is rare. Because of the disease rarity, there is no standard management protocol for perforated duodenal diverticulum. To properly manage this rare complication, a clear preoperative diagnosis and clinical disease severity assessment are important. An abdomino-pelvic CT is an unquestionably crucial diagnostic tool. Perforation is considered a surgical emergency, although conservative treatment based on fasting and broad-spectrum antibiotics may be offered in some selected cases. Herein, we report two cases of perforated duodenal diverticulum, one case managed with surgical treatment and one with conservative treatment. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2015;66:159-163)
아부다비투자청의 운용현황 및 투자정책과 한국의 투자 유치방안

The UAE government has been operating the sovereign wealth fund since the mid-1970s based on the increased source of surplus oil revenue. According to the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI), as of 2021, the UAE government is managing a total of six sovereign wealth funds (SWFI 2021). The Abu Dhabi government, which accounts for 90% of the UAE s oil revenues, has established an additional smaller sovereign wealth fund, Mubadala Investment Company together with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), the largest sovereign wealth fund among the GCC countries. As a result, we are managing two sovereign wealth funds. In addition to Abu Dhabi, the federal government, the Dubai government, and the Ras al-Khaima and Sharjah governments each have one sovereign wealth fund, but the size is smaller than in Abu Dhabi. Rather than analyzing all six sovereign wealth funds in the UAE, this study prioritized ADIA, the largest sovereign wealth fund in the UAE, which has recently shown great interest in Korean investment. This paper examines the history and size of the UAE sovereign wealth fund, analyzes the world s third-largest ADIA management status and investment strategy, and proposes Korea s investment attraction strategy. Data from SWFI was basically used for the size of sovereign wealth fund assets for the study.

This study aimed to evaluate the effectivity of full-fat black soldier fly Hermetia illucens (BSF) and defatted meal-worm Tenebrio molitor (MW) larvae meal as a fish meal (FM) substitute in a low-fish meal (LFM) diet for juvenile olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. The LFM diet comprising 45% FM with tankage meal, poultry byproduct meal, soy protein concentrate and wheat gluten was the control diet. Three experimental diets were 10% FM in Con with BSF, MW and a mixture of both at the same ratio (designated as B10, M10 and B5M5, respectively). Four hundred and forty-fourth juvenile P. olivaceus (34.3±0.1 g) were randomly distributed into 12 tanks (425 L) in three replicate groups per treatment and fed the experimental diets for 15 weeks. At the end of the feeding trial, growth performance, survival, biological indices (condition factor, viscerosomatic index, hepatosomatic index), non-specific immune re-sponses (lysozyme, myeloperoxidase) and intestinal histology (villi length and goblet cells) were not significantly affected by treatments. Feed utilization was significantly decreased in M10 compared to the control group. Alanine aminotransferase level was significantly higher in M10 than in the control group. Glucose level was significantly lower in B10 than in the control group. These results suggest that BSF and MW can be used as FM substitutes. How-ever, considering feed conversion ratio and AST level, MW availability is thought to be lower than that of BSF, and feeding fish with a diet containing MW for an extended period is thought to adversely affect fish growth.
