Plasmodiophora brassicae 에 의한 콜라비 뿌리혹병 발생

From 2016 to 2018, approximately 15% of kohlrabi were observed displaying significant clubroot symptoms in farmer’s fields in Jeju, Korea. The initial infection appeared as hypertrophy of root hairs, and as the disease progressed, galls formation occurred on the main roots, finally disease progress resulted in yellowing and wilting of leaves. Pathogenicity was proven by artificial inoculation of plants with resting spore suspension, fulfilling Koch’s postulates. The resting spore is one-celled, spherical and subspherical, colorless, and 3-5 mm in diameter. On the basis of the morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analyses of internal transcribed spacer rDNA, the causal agent was identified as Plasmodiophora brassicae. To our knowledge, this is the first report on the occurrence of P. brassicae on kohlrabi in Korea.
수전해용 공유가교 SPEEK/Cs-TPA/Ceria 복합막의 제조 및 특성 연구

Ceria (CeO2) was used to scavenge free radicals which attack the membrane in the polymer electrolyte membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) circumstance and to increase the duration of the membrane. In order to improve the electrochemical, mechanical and electrocatalytic characteristics, engineering plastic of the sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) as polymer matrix was prepared in the sulfonation reaction of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and the organic-inorganic blended composite membranes were prepared by sol-gel casting method with loading the highly dispersed ceria and cesium-substituted tungstophosphoric acid (Cs-TPA) with cross-linking agent contents of 0.01 mL. In conclusion, CL-SPEEK/Cs-TPA/ceria (1%) membrane showed the optimum results such as 0.130 S/cm of proton conductivity at 80℃, 2.324 meq./g-dry-membrane of ion exchange capacity and mechanical characteristics, and 65.03 MPa of tensile strength which were better than Nafion 117 membrane.
수전해용 Ir/TiO2 산소 발생 촉매의 제조 및 성능 평가

In this research, the Ir supported TiO2 (P25) catalyst was prepared by precipitation method for oxygenevolution reaction. The Ir/TiO2 catalyst was synthesised by reduction reaction using reducing agent. Physiochemicalcharacterizations of synthesized Ir/TiO2 catalyst was studied by means of SEM, EDS mapping, TEM and XRD. The Electrochemical characterizations were tested by using the technique of CV and LSV by RDE and Potentiostat. Physicochemical properties were characterized with XRD where Iridium metal morphology and Ir(111) and Ir(222)peaks were founded. Ir0.2Ru0.8O2 exhibited higher OER activity than Ir0.5Ru0.5O2 followed by Ir/TiO2 and IrO2.

Thanks to rapid industrial development and economic growth, makeup industry has rapidly evolved. Today, it is growing into a field where personality and creativity matter. Under these circumstances, this study attempted to investigate the greatest artist Pablo Picasso’s paintings (Blue Period, Rose Period, cubism, era of anger) to explore creative art makeup styles and apply them to art makeup. In Picasso’s paintings, emotions were expressed with colors. Diverse techniques were discovered by the times. In the Blue Period, blue color and simple curves were observed. In the Rose Period, pink color was used, painting clowns and flowers. During the era of cubism, achromatic color was used, disassembling a subject. In the era of anger, dramatic effects were expressed, using action painting. This study aimed to create art makeup and beauty illustrations, using the colors, forms and techniques found in Picasso’s paintings and make a contribution to the development of art makeup through the development of creative and challenging styles. It is anticipated that this study on paintings and the beauty of human body would help beauty industry as well as art makeup keep growing and evolving.

Citrus canker caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc) is one of the most important bacterial diseases of citrus. Because citrus canker is not found in many countries including European Union and Australia, Xcc is strictly regulated in order to prevent its spread. In this study, the effects of X-irradiation on Xcc growth either in the suspension or on the surface of citrus fruits were investigated. The suspension containing 1×107 cfu/ml of Xcc was irradiated with different absorbed doses of X-irradiation ranging from 50 to 400 Gy. The results showed that Xcc was fully dead at 400 Gy of X-irradiation. To determine the effect of X-irradiation on quarantine, the Xcc-inoculated citrus fruits were irradiated with different X-ray doses at which Xcc was completely inhibited by an irradiation dose of 250 Gy. The D10 value for Xcc on citrus fruits was found to be 97 Gy, indicating the possibility of direct application on citrus quarantine without any side sterilizer. Beside, presence of Xcc on the surface of asymptomatic citrus fruits obtained from citrus canker-infected orchards was noted. It indicated that the exporting citrus fruits need any treatment so that Xcc on the citrus fruits should be completely eliminated. Based on these results, ionizing radiation can be considered as an alternative method of eradicating Xcc for export of citrus fruits.
