야생너구리 (Nyctereutes procyonoides)의 개 심장사상충 (Dirofilaria immitis) 감염

The raccoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides) may be infected by Dirofilaria immitis. However, there has been no report on dirofilarial infection in the raccoon dog in Korea. In this study, we report on D. immitis infection in two wild raccoon dogs captured in the Daejeon area. The two raccoon dogs were referred to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Chungnam National University for diagnosis of D. immitis infection. The modified Knott's test for the detection of blood D. immitis microfilariae was positive, and serological test (FASTest$^{(R)}$ HW Antigen ELISA kit, Diagnostik Mega Cor, Austria) for D. immitis was positive as well. Additionally, D. immitis microfilariae were differentiated from other microfilariae by using acid phrnphatase histochemical staining (Leucognost-SP$^{(R)}$kit, Diagncstica MERCK, Germany). The two raccoon dogs were necropsed and D. immitis infection was confirmed.
용해도 파라미터에 의한 막과 esters 간의 친화도 예측

FASs로 표면 개질한 소수성 막을 이용하여 수용액으로부터 에스테르 성분을 분리/농축 가능성을 알기 위하여, FASs (Fluoloalkyl-silanes-coupling agent)의 용해도 파라미터를 구하여 에스테르와 물의 용해도 파라미터와 비교하였다. FASs의 용해도 파라미터는 ${\delta}_t=16.9$이었으며, 에스테르(ethyl acetate ${\delta}_t=18.1$, propyl acetate ${\delta}_t=18.0$, ethyl propionate ${\delta}_t=17.9$, butyl acetate ${\delta}_t=17.4$, ethyl butyrate ${\delta}_t=17.0$)의 용해도 파라미터와 비슷하였다. 그러나, 물의 용해도 파라미터는 ${\delta}_t=47.8$이었으며, FASs의 용해도 파라미터(${\delta}_t=16.9$)와는 큰 차이를 나타내었다. 이것은 FASs로 표면 개질한 소수성 막이 물 보다는 에스테르 성분에 매우 큰 친화도를 나타내는 것을 의미한다. FASs로 표면개질한 알루미나 막을 통한 이들 에스테르 성분들의 투과플럭스에 대한 실험치는 용해도 파라미터에 의해 예측한 투과플럭스 크기의 순서와 거의 동일하였으며, 용해도 파라미터에 의한 투과플럭스 예측은 천연 향의 수용액으로부터 향의 주성분인 에스테르 성분을 분리/농축하는 데 적용할 수 있음을 보여준다. To find out the feasibility of the separating/enriching esters from aqueous solution using FASs (Fluoloalkyl-silanes-coupling agent)-surface modified hydrophobic membrane, the solubility parameter of FASs was obtained and compared with those of esters and water. The value of the solubility parameter of FASs (${\delta}_t=16.9$) was almost same with those of esters (ethyl acetate ${\delta}_t=18.1$, propyl acetate ${\delta}_t=18.0$, ethyl propionate ${\delta}_t=17.9$, butyl acetate ${\delta}_t=17.4$, ethyl butyrate ${\delta}_t=17.0$). However, the calculated value of the solubility parameter of water was ${\delta}_t=47.8$, which was far from the value of the solubility parameter of FASs (${\delta}_t=16.9$). This means that the FASs-modified membrane has a much higher affinity to esters than water. The experimental results of permeation flux of esters used in this study showed that the order of permeation flux predicted by the solubility parameter was almost coincide with experimental results. It might be concluded that the solubility parameter may be applicable for a separating/enriching flavors from aqueous natural-flavor solution, in which esters are main components of natural flavors.

The separation of humic acid by ultrafiltration was most influenced by pressure difference. when pressure difference increased from latm to 3atm, permeate flux increased from 40% to 60% but rejection rate reduced from 97% to 91% because of adsorption of molecules of humic acid at membrane surface. Since physical adsorption was more dominant than chemical adsorption, adsorption of membrane surface was reduced 50% when slow rate increased at same conditions.
산성 광산 배수의 처리를 위한 철(Fe) 성분의 플럭 형성 특성

The characteristics of floc formation of the iron(Fe) ions was studied for developing the process treating the acid mine drainage. The metal ions in aqueous solution oxidized with oxygen in air, which generated hydrogen ion and lowered the pH of the aqueous solution. The iron(Fe) ions were formed into flocs by the acid-base reaction with the added Ca(OH)2 for the neutralizing the solution. There were several variables affecting the formation, size and color of floc; whether air was present or not, air feeding rate, oxidizing time, concentration of Ca(OH)2 , the acid-base reaction time of the iron(Fe)-Ca(OH)2 . For proper formation of the iron(Fe)-Ca(OH)2 flocs and developing the floc treating system, the control variables mentioned above should be considered.
자력에 의한 산성 광산 배수의 처리 - 철(Fe) 성분의 제거-

The characteristics of floc formation of the iron(Fe) ions contained in the acid mine drainage was studied for developing the process treating the acid mine drainage. The iron(Fe) ions were formed into flocs by the acid-base reaction with the added Ca(OH)2 . The molal ratio of iron(Fe) vs Ca(OH)2 was one of major control variables in treatment; pH change, iron(Fe) ions concentration in treated drainage, DO (dissolved oxygen content). In addition, the air gave much effect on the color of the iron(Fe)-Ca(OH)2 flocs and the attachment to magnet. The attaching to the magnet of the flocs formed in the air was much less than the case without air.
개 심장사상충 추출액 투여에 의한 Anaphylactoid Reaction

This study was performed to clarify the induction possibility of anaphylactoid reactions by the administration with the heartworm extracts, and, if any, to elucidate different virulences in terms of the protein concentrdtions and sexes of Dirofilaria immitis. Twenty three clinically healthy D. immitis-free adult dogs were used in the present study. The experimental animals were divided into 5 groups. Group A (5 heads) was administered with an female heartworm extract containing 0.1 g/dl protein concentration. Group B (4 heads) was administered with an male heartworm extract containing 0.1g/dl protein concentration. Group C (5 heads) was administered with an female heartworm extract containing 0.2 g/dl protein concentration. Group D (4 heads) was administered with an male heartworm extract containing 0.2 g/dl protein concentration. Group E (5 heads) was administered with an female heartworm extract containing 0.4 g/dl protein concentration. The changes of clinical symptoms and vital signs (body temperature, heart rate and respiration rate) were examined before and 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours and 24 hours after injection with the extracts, respectively. In addition, the changes of hematological values (RBC, PCV and total leukocytes counts), serum chemical values (ALP and CK) were determined. It was considered that heartworm extract could induce anaphylactoid reaction and adult female heartworm extract was more affective than those of adult male heartworm extract in the changes of clinical symptoms, vital signs, hematological values and serum chemical values.
