        Determination and prediction of digestible and metabolizable energy concentrations in byproduct feed ingredients fed to growing pigs

        Objective: An experiment was conducted to determine digestible energy (DE) and metabolizable energy (ME) of different byproduct feed ingredients fed to growing pigs, and to generate prediction equations for the DE and ME in feed ingredients. Methods: Twelve barrows with an initial mean body weight of 31.8 kg were individually housed in metabolism crates that were equipped with a feeder and a nipple drinker. A 12×10 incomplete Latin square design was employed with 12 dietary treatments, 10 periods, and 12 animals. A basal diet was prepared to mainly contain the corn and soybean meal (SBM). Eleven additional diets were formulated to contain 30% of each test ingredient. All diets contained the same proportion of corn:SBM ratio at 4.14:1. The difference procedure was used to calculate the DE and ME in experimental ingredients. The in vitro dry matter disappearance for each test ingredient was determined. Results: The DE and ME values in the SBM sources were greater (p<0.05) than those in other ingredients except high-protein distillers dried grains. However, DE and ME values in tapioca distillers dried grains (TDDG) were the lowest (p<0.05). The most suitable regression equations for the DE and ME concentrations (kcal/kg on the dry matter [DM] basis) in the test ingredients were: DE = 5,528–(156×ash)–(32.4×neutral detergent fiber [NDF]) with root mean square error = 232, R2 = 0.958, and p<0.001; ME = 5,243–(153 ash)–(30.7×NDF) with root mean square error = 277, R2 = 0.936, and p<0.001. All independent variables are in % on the DM basis. Conclusion: The energy concentrations were greater in the SBM sources and were the least in the TDDG. The ash and NDF concentrations can be used to estimate the energy concentrations in the byproducts from oil-extraction and distillation processes.

        돼지사료내 곰팡이독소의 오염 및 영양학적 해결방안

        In the present work, we reviewed feed mycotoxin-related research and provide potential strategies to overcome feed mycotoxin issues. Cereal grains and cereal byproducts are most easily contaminated by fungus. Fungi in feed ingredients produce secondary metabolites such as aflatoxin, deoxynivalenol, and zearalenone, which are commonly found in feed ingredients. These mycotoxins in animal feeds and ingredients are regulated in many countries. Dietary mycotoxins have detrimental effects on immune systems and growth performance in pigs. A major harmful effect of dietary mycotoxin is reduced feed intake, resulting in deficient energy and nutrient intake and eventually depressed growth of pigs. The reduced energy and nutrient intake may be overcome possibly by increased energy and nutrient concentrations. Dietary supplementation of some mycotoxin binders may reduce the detrimental effects of mycotoxins. However, the effects of mycotoxin binders especially on deoxynivalenol and zearalenone have been reported to be variable depending on classes and concentration of mycotoxin, environmental condition, and type of mycotoxin binders. 곰팡이독소는 곰팡이의 2차 대사산물로 동물용 원료사료 중에서 특히 곡물 및 곡물부산물에서 가장 흔하게 발생한다. 돼지는 곰팡이독소에 대한 감수성이 다른 동물에 비해 높은 것으로 알려져 있다. 아플라톡신, 디옥시니발레놀 및 제랄레논은 동물용 원료사료에서 가장 흔하게 발생하는 곰팡이독소이며, 국내‧외에서 허용기준을 설정하여 관리하고 있다. 곰팡이독소는 종류에 따라 서로 다른 독성작용을 가지지만 모두 면역체계를 표적으로 하며, 최종적으로 돼지의 성장저하를 초래한다. 따라서 곰팡이독소에 의한 피해를 최소화하기 위한 다양한 대책이 필요하다. 일반적으로 곰팡이독소에 오염된 사료를 섭취한 돼지는 사료 섭취량이 감소하며, 그 결과 증체량 저하가 발생한다. 사료섭취량 감소로 인한 필수영양소의 불충분한 공급은 영양소함량을 강화 시킨 사료를 급여함으로써 증체량 감소를 최소화할 수 있다. 또한 곰팡이독소 저감제를 이용하여 곰팡이독소에 의한 피해를 저감시킬 수 있으나, 곰팡이독소의 종류 및 농도, 환경적 요인, 저감제의 종류 등에 따라 저감제 사용 효과에 대한 변이가 존재한다.

        Effects of Dietary Cellulose on the Basal Endogenous Loss of Phosphorus in Growing Pigs

        An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of cellulose concentration in diets containing no phosphorus (P) on the basal endogenous loss (BEL) of P in growing pigs. Twelve barrows (an initial mean body weight = 49.6±3.2 kg) were individually housed in metabolism crates. Pigs were allotted to 4 experimental diets according to a cross-over design with 12 animals and 2 periods. Four P-free diets were mainly based on corn starch, sucrose, and gelatin, and were formulated to contain 0%, 4%, 8%, or 12% cellulose. Each period consisted of a 5-d adaptation and a 5-d collection period. The marker-to-marker method was used for fecal collection. The feed intake (p<0.05, linear and quadratic) and dry feces output (p<0.01, linear and quadratic) were increased with increasing dietary cellulose concentration. However, P concentration in the feces was decreased (p<0.01, linear and quadratic) with increasing dietary cellulose concentration. There was no significant difference in total P output and the BEL of P as mg per kg DMI (ranging from 157 to 214 mg/kg of dry matter intake) among experimental diets. However, values for the apparent total tract digestibility of energy, dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, and calcium were linearly decreased (p<0.01) with increasing cellulose concentration in the diet. In conclusion, dietary cellulose affected the amount of feces and digestibility of energy and nutrients, but did not affect the endogenous loss of P.

        Amino acid digestibility in plant protein sources fed to growing pigs

        Objective: The objective was to determine standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of amino acids (AA) in 11 plant protein sources fed to growing pigs. Methods: Eleven feed ingredients used were sesame meal, two sources of soybean meal (SBM) produced in the Republic of Korea, a source of SBM produced in India, high-protein distillers dried grains (HPDDG), perilla meal, canola meal, copra meal, corn germ meal, palm kernel expeller, and tapioca distillers dried grains (TDDG). Experimental diets were prepared to contain each test ingredient as a sole source of AA, and a nitrogen-free diet was also prepared to estimate the basal ileal endogenous losses of AA. Twelve barrows surgically fitted with T-cannulas at the distal ileum with an initial body weight of 29.0 kg (standard deviation = 3.0) were individually housed in metabolism crates equipped with a feeder and a nipple drinker. A 12×9 incomplete Latin square design was employed with 12 experimental diets, 12 animals, and 9 periods. After a 5-d adaptation period, ileal digesta were collected on d 6 and 7 in each experimental period. Results: Values for apparent ileal digestibility of most indispensable AA in three sources of SBM were greater compared with other test ingredients except HPDDG and canola meal (p<0.05). Pigs fed diets containing SBM sources had also greater SID of most indispensable AA compared with those fed diets containing other test ingredients (p<0.05) except for HPDDG and canola meal. There was no difference in the apparent ileal digestibility and SID of AA among sources of SBM. The TDDG had the least value for the SID of methionine among test ingredients (p<0.05). Conclusion: The SID of most AA in SBM, HPDDG, and canola meal were greater than those in sesame meal, perilla meal, copra meal, and TDDG.

        수입 박류사료내 에너지 및 영양소 함량의 변이

        This study was conducted to investigate the variation in nutrient composition of oilseed meals and to develop prediction equations for amino acid concentrations. Energy and nutrient contents were determined in a total of 1,380 feed ingredient samples including copra byproducts, corn distillers, dried grains with solubles, palm kernel byproducts, and soybean meal. The ingredient samples were imported to the Republic of Korea between 2006 and 2015. Data were analyzed using the MIXED procedure of SAS. The regression procedure of SAS was used to generate the prediction equation for the lysine concentration using the crude protein (CP) concentration as an independent variable. The concentrations of moisture, gross energy, CP, ether extract, crude fiber, ash, calcium, phosphorus, lysine, methionine, cysteine, and threonine in tested oilseed meals differed (P<0.05) depending on producing countries. The prediction equations for amino acid concentrations (% as-is basis) in the oilseed meals are: lysine = —1.08 + 0.080 × CP (root mean square error = 0.244, R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.924, and P<0.001); threonine = —0.297 + 0.044 × CP (root mean square error = 0.099, R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.958, and P<0.001). In conclusion, energy and nutrient compositions vary in the oilseed meals depending on the producing countries. Moreover, the crude protein concentration can be used as a suitable independent variable for estimating lysine and threonine concentrations in the oilseed meals.

        기혼자의 정서인식 명확성과 조망수용이 의사소통에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 기혼자를 대상으로 부부간 의사소통에 정서인식 명확성과 조망수용이 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 광주와 전남북지역의 기혼자 206명을 대상으로 의사소통, 정서인식 명확성, 조망수용 관련 설문을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 각 변인들은 상호 밀접한 상관을 보이고 있었으며, 기혼자의 의사소통에는 정서인식 명확성과 조망수용이 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치고 있음이 나타났다. 하지만 정서인식 명확성과 조망수용의 상호작용 효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 부부간 의사소통에서 자신의 정서를 명확하게 이해하고 상대의 입장에 서서 타인을 이해하는 능력인 조망수용이 이루어질 때 보다 더 긍정적이고 합리적인 의사소통이 가능하다는 것을 확인 하였다. This study was to find out that the effects of emotional clarity and perspective-taking on communication of married persons targeting 206 peoples. It set the clarity of emotional recognition and perspective-taking as the independent variables and the communication as the dependent variable and verified them. The results revealed in this study are as follows. When looked at the correlation between the clarity of emotional recognition, perspective taking, and communication of married people, each variable showd close correlation. It showed that the communication of married people had a statistically significant effect to the clarity of emotional recognition and perspective taking through the multiple regression analysis. As above, the result of this study confirmed the clarity of emotional recognition and perspective taking as factors that affect to the communication. It confirmed that more positive and reasonable communication is possible when understand the emotion clearly and the perspective taking which is the ability of standing in other people’s perspectives.

        본 논문에서는 기존에 전파 이미징 연구에서 사용되고 있던 수학적 해석기반의 이미지가 아닌 인공 신경망을 이용한 데이터 기반의 전파 이미지 기법을 제시하였고, 물체의 위치를 인공신경망을 학습시켜 인공신경망으로 복원한 이미지와 Bifocusing으로 복원한 이미지를 비교하였다.
