보행속도에 따른 지면보행과 Treadmill 보행의 비교: 운동분석 및 에너지 소모

In this study, treadmill walking and overground walking were compared at the same condition based on kinematics and energy expenditures(EE). In addition, we compared the actual energy expenditure and calculated EE by treadmill. The kinematics of treadmill and overground walking were very similar. The values at each joint were significantly different(P<0.05), but magnitude of the difference was generally less than 4$^{\circ}$. In the EE using cardiopulmonary exercise, EE of treadmill walking was significantly greater when measured on the overground. It seemed to be the increased stress during the gait by the continuous movement of the belt. As the velocity increased, there was significant difference between actual EE and calculated EE by treadmill due to EE curve increasing exponentially. Therefore the further study would be required to find the correlation of the two methods and calibrate the values from them.

The purpose of the brain-computer (machine) interface (BCI or BMI) is to provide a method for people with damaged sensory and motor functions to use their brain to control artificial devices and restore lost ability via the devices. Functional electrical stimulation (FES) is a method of applying low level electrical currents to the body to restore or to improve motor function. The purpose of this study was to develop a SSVEP-based BCI rehabilitation training system with FES for spinal cord injured individuals. Six electrodes were attached on the subjects' scalp ($PO_Z$, $PO_3$, $PO_4$, $O_z$, $O_1$ and $O_2$) according to the extended international 10-20 system, and reference electrodes placed at A1 and A2. EEG signals were recorded at the sampling rate of 256Hz with 10-bit resolution using a BIOPAC system. Fast Fourier transform(FFT) based spectrum estimation method was applied to control the rehabilitation system. FES control signals were digitized and transferred from PC to the microcontroller using Bluetooth communication. This study showed that a rehabilitation training system based on BCI technique could make successfully muscle movements, inducing electrical stimulation of forearm muscles in healthy volunteers.
중증지체장애인을 위한 스마트 홈 구축 및 사용성 평가 : 중증장애인 삶의 질 향상을 위한 주거 환경 기반 구축

본 연구의 목적은 중증지체장애인을 위한 스마트 홈 개발 및 사용성 평가에 있다. 스마트 홈을 개발하기 위한 예비 연구로서 임상 전문가, 장애인 단체, 중증지체장애인을 대상으로 전문 자문 그룹으로 구성하였고, 스마트 홈 시스템의 필요와 사용에 대해 조사하였다. 조사 결과, 시스템의 중요한 디자인 개념에 대한 많은 응답을 얻을 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 개발된 시스템을 통하여 중증지체 장애인의 삶의 질 및 자립생활 능력 향상에 도움을 줄 것으로 기대한다. The purpose of this study is to develop and perform user testing of smart home for the people with severe disability. As a preliminary study for the development of the smart home system, the expert groups consisted of clinical experts, people from disability associations and people with severe disability were surveyed by the needs and usages to improve residential environment. From the respond of the survey, we have found number of issues that lead us to key design concepts about smart home. In this paper, we have developed smart home system based on survey results. We expect that the use of the developed systems will help to provide a way for the people with severe disability to improve the level of independence and the quality of life.

We were performed the three dimensional motion analysis for the 'Arthritis Knee Brace(AKB)' which has widening effects on the knee joint condylar separation. The knee joint condylar separations were measured at 1.807㎜(lateral), 0.474㎜(center) and 2. 172㎜(medial) by the fluoroscopy. Finite elememt method result in condylar stress decrease at 3.951㎫ in femur and 4.556㎫ in tibia. However, three dimensional gait analysis showed that all three lower joints(hip, knee ankle) were more flexed during AKB walking, and ground reaction force was larger in AKB walking just before the push-off. In the future, the joint moment and power as well as the electromyogram have to be analyzed to find the biomechanical disadvantage of AKB.
