        Currently, water consumption for living continuously increases every year because of the rapid urbanization, industrialization and improvement of living standard. Besides, a radiation treatment hospital, a luxury cruise ship, a passenger airplane, a high-speed train, a camping car, and a portable toilet require the minimum use of the water in its soil water system due to the limitations of the system installation space. Accordingly, the soil water system using the vacuum self-priming pump draws the attention not only for the efficient use of water resources but also the minimum use of the construction spaces. Based on these circumstances, this study practically investigated the amounts of water savings and the amounts of cost savings for the construction and the operation by using the vacuum self-priming pump in the different toilet soil water systems. Results showed that the vacuum self-priming pump system uses much smaller amount of water than the traditional soil water system. In addition, the economic analysis indicated that the new vacuum self-priming pump soil water system saved about 55% for the operation costs and about 32% for the construction costs than the existing traditional soil water systems.

      • 인체하중만으로 자동물내림시키는 변좌시트에 관한 고찰

        This study practically investigated the amounts of water savings by using the newly developed the non-electric and non-water pressure automatic flushing toilet seat applied into the domestic water consumptions in Korea. Preliminary tests showed that everyone habitually flushes the toilet two times in one use. In order to find the effective way of saving the domestic water the non-electric and non-water pressure automatic flushing toilet seats were facilitated into the six different public building rest rooms instead of the traditional manual toilet seats, and the amounts of water used were accurately measured using the flow rate meters for 7 days. Results of the experimental measurements showed that the invented non-electric and non-water pressure automatic flushing toilet seat saved about 53 percent of the water compared with the results of using the traditional manual toilet seat. Therefore one of the best ways to save the domestic water might be facilitating the non-electric and non-water pressure automatic flushing toilet seat into our living residence.

In order to develop an efficient and accurate design technique, this study investigated the water saving design parameters on the soil water system using a variable position trap in a water closet system. Design parameters were the amount of water in the tank of the toilet stool, the diameter of the soil pipe, and the gradient of the soil pipe with the uncontrollable design parameters of the three different experimental stool sizes. Therefore, this study experimentally approached the possible amount of water saving and suggested the new variable position trap device in a water closet system.

        This study investigated the water saving technology for the toilet stool system in a water closet. Since in 21st century water would be the prospected factor to measure the wealth of a country instead of the oil, water saving technologies in the toilet stool in a closet system is getting more important than the cleaning stool and the reducing noise performances. According to the statistics in Korea the percentage of using water in toilet is about 27 % to the total amount of water used. Therefore, this study theoretically approached the possible amount of water saving and suggested the new variable position straight trap device in the toilet stool system.

        고령의 고관절 골절 환자의 수술 후 사망률 및 관련 인자

        목적: 고령의 고관절 골절 환자의 사망률과 수술 후 사망률에 영향을 미치는 인자에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 2006년 3월부터 2009년 12월까지 65세 이상의 고관절 골절로 수술을 시행 받은 304명의 환자들 중 수술 후 1년 내 사망 여부 추적이 불가능했던 43명을 제외한 261명을 대상으로 하였다. 연령, 성별, 수술 방법, 골절의 유형, 마취 방법, 수술 전 기저 질환, 그리고 수상 후 수술까지의 경과시간을 조사하여 수술 후 1년 내 사망과 관련이 있는 인자들을 통계적으로 분석하였다. 결과: 고령의 고관절 골절 환자의 수술 후 1년 내 사망률은 10.7%였다. 수술 방법, 골절의 유형, 마취 방법은 수술 후 사망률과 관계가 없었으나 연령, 성별, 수술 전 기저 질환의 수, 수상 후 수술까지의 경과시간, 기저 질환 중의 치매는 고령의 고관절 골절 환자의 수술 후 사망률에 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 결론: 고령의 고관절 골절 환자의 수술 후 사망률은 10.7%였으며, 고령의 고관절 골절 환자의 수술 후 사망률에 영향을 미치는 인자는 연령, 성별, 동반 기저 질환의 수, 수상 후 수술까지의 경과시간, 기저 질환 중의 치매였다. Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the mortality and factors that are related to the mortality in elderly patients with hip fracture. Materials and Methods: Between March 2006 and December 2009, 304 patients who were 65 years or older underwent surgery for hip fracture. Among them, 261 patients were available and 43 patients excluded from this study, as they were unable to be evaluated for one year mortality. We analyzed the relationship between the postoperative mortality and the associated factors (age, gender, the type of operation, the type of fracture, method of anesthesia, comorbidity, operation delay). Results: The one year mortality rate for elderly patients with hip fracture was 10.7%. There was no relationships between the postoperative mortality and the type of operation, the type of fracture, and method of anesthesia. However, age, gender, the number of comorbidity, operation delay, and dementia of comorbidity were factors associated with the mortality rate for elderly patients with hip fracture. Conclusion: The one year mortality rate for elderly patients with hip fracture was 10.7%. Age, gender, the number of comorbidity, operation delay, and dementia of comorbidity were factors associated with the mortality rate in elderly patients with hip fracture.

        This study proposed the optimum design values for the biological clean room system observing the regulations of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP). Even though the standard for industrial clean room system has been well established, the basis for biological food clean room system is the first stage. In order to prevent the contaminations in advance for food storages, processes, and distributions, the criterion of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point is positively required. This study also suggested the possible ways of how to avoid the hazardous contaminations.

        This study investigated automatic malodor exhaust ventilating methods in a water closet system. Even though these days advanced equipment has been applied into the toilet in a building or house, the odor due to the evacuating the bowels should be carefully removed to maintain clean and pleasant toilet. Therefore, this study thoroughly considered the main causes of the malodor problems and suggested the best applicable methods to the closet system.

      • 다구찌실험계획법을 이용한 절수 오수시스템 설계인자 연구

        In order to develop an efficient and accurate design technique, the well known Tagucchi method was applied into the soil water system. Design parameters were the amount of water in the tank of the toilet stool, the diameter of the soil water pipe, and the gradient of the soil water pipe with the uncontrollable design parameter of the two different experimental stool sizes. Accomplishing the Tagucchi method, L9 orthogonal array table was used for the three different design parameters and the one uncontrollable parameter of the experimental stool size. Based on the experimental results with the maximum target value for the best clean out of the soil water system in calculating the SN ratio, the optimum design values were successfully found and the trends of the each design parameters were also graphically obtained. With the effective design method of this study in hands, other different types of designing tasks of the efficient soil water system can be easily achieved without any difficulties.

      • 산업진흥융합 : 가정에서의 물 절약 인식이 절수제품 구매의도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 가정의 물 절약 및 절수제품 사용에 대한 인식이 절수제품 구매의도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구결과 절수제품 구매의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인은 가정에서 물 절약 필요성 인식(p<.001)과 절수제품의 절수효과 만족도(p<.01)로 나타났다. 또한 응답자의 직업, 가정의 물 절약이 가장 필요한 부문, 가정에서 물 절약을 위해 가장 노력하는 부문, 절수효과가 가장 높은 제품 인식, 절수제품의 단점 인식에 따른 절수제품 구매의도의 집단 간 차이로 나타났다. 본 연구는 가정의 물 절약 필요성 인식과 절수제품의 절수효과 만족도가 절수제품 구매의도에 유의한 영향을 미침을 밝힘으로써 물 절약 및 절수제품에 대한 인식이 물 절약을 위한 적극적 행동의지에 미치는 효과성을 검증한 데에 그 의의가 있다. This study verified the effect of water saving awareness on purchasing intention of water saving product at home. The study results showed that the necessity awareness of water saving at home(p<.001) and satisfaction of the water saving effect on water saving product(p<.01) significantly affected the purchasing intention of water saving product. Also, this study found purchasing intention of water saving product’s between-group differences depended on occupation, awareness of the need of water saving at home, the most exertive part for saving water at home, the most effective water saving product and the weakness of water saving product. This study provided practical implication for promoting positive consumer behavior of using water saving product.
