        Recently, there is a tendency to replace synthetic flavors by natural ones. This trend can be ascribed to increasing health and nutrition conscious life-styles. The term 'natural flavor' includes enzymic and fermentative processes. Edible mushrooms are known for their unique and subtle flavor characteristics and have wide application as a food flavoring additive in the production of soups, sauces and instant products. 1-octen-3-ol is the main chemical responsible for the mushroom flavor. Submerged culture of mushroom mycelium is a faster and more easily controllable method than the established growth of fruiting bodies by solid-state fermentation. Although a number of mushrooms give good yields of mycelium biomass in submerged culture, a satisfactory flavor has been found in only a few cases. Among the nine strains tested, Agaricus bisporus 705 showed the greatest production of mushroom flavor.

        2,3-butanediol 생산에 사용된 균주 (E. aerogenes)는 산소에 예민하게 반응하므로 reactor 내의 hydrodynamics (mixing) 과 물질전달 (특히 산소전달) 기작에 영향을 받는다. 발효조의 종류와 교반상태가 혼합에 영향을 주며 혼합이 불충분한 경우 조내의 국부적인 산소농도 차이를 가져오게 된다. 이 결과 미생물 대사에 영향을 미쳐 부산물인 ethanol의 농도가 증가되고 생산성이 저하된다.

      • Agaricus bisporus 705 균사체 배양에 의한 1-octen-3-o1 생산에 있어 생물반응기 종류의 영향

        In airlift fermentor the effects of aeration rate and mycelium morphology on the productivity of 1-octen-3-ol was investigated in the submerged culture of Agaricus bisporus 705. Maximum 1-octen-3-ol concentration was obtained when aeration rate was 1.0vvm. The performance of airlift fermentor is compared with that of stirred tank. Air circulation in airlift fermentor causes less fragmentation of the mushroom mycelia than the mechanical agitation in stirred tank. The high 1-octen-3-ol concentration(840μg/L) was obtained, which was more than 2 times higher than that of culture in stirred fermentor.

      • 졸-겔공정을 이용한 초고용량 캐패시터용 Nickel oxide 나노입자의 합성

        The Ni (OH)₂ nanoparticles with average diameter of 50 nm were synthesized by hydrolyzing nickel acetate with water, and were dispersed in the distilled water to prepare the coating solution. The electrodes for supercapacitor were prepared by dip-coating the coating solution on the Ni-foam. The electrodes heat-treated at several temperatures showed the highest specific capacitance, 160 F/g, at 250℃. It can be explained that the Ni(OH)₂ particles heat-treated at 100 and 200℃ on the electrodes contained the impurities such as acetate groups in the pores, and resulted in low specific surface areas. However, as the calcination temperature increases. the impurities incorporated in the pores are removed at 250℃, and thus, the particles on the electrodes show the highest specific surface area (177 ㎡/g).

        백일주의 항산화 활성 및 생리기능성 평가

        백일주는 찹쌀, 백미, 누룩, 재래종 국화꽃, 오미자, 진달래, 솔잎 및 물을 넣고 100일간 발효 숙성시킨 전통주이다. 본 연구에서 백일주의 생리활성을 알아보기 위하여 총 폴리페놀과 플라보노이드 함량, 항산화 활성(DPPH 라디칼, ABTS 라디칼, 아질산염 소거활성), 혈전용해활성, angiotensisn 전환효소 저해활성 및 acetylcholinesterase 저해활성을 평가하였다. 살균 처리되지 않은 백일주와 살균 처리된 백일주의 총 폴리페놀 함량은 391.59와 401.33μg tannic acid equivalents/ml이었고, 총 플라보노이드 함량은 284.75와 308.35 μg quercetin equivalents/ml이었다. 백일주의 항산화 활성(DPPH 라디칼, ABTS 라디칼, 아질산염 소거활성)은 청주 보다 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 백일주의 혈전용해활성과 acetylcholinesterase 저해활성도 청주에 비해 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 반면에 angiotensin 전환효소 저해활성을 측정한 결과 살균 처리되지 않은 백일주는 23.62%, 살균 처리된 백일주는 19.99%, 청주는 38.91%로 청주가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구 결과는 백일주가 항산화 효과와 혈전용해 활성이 있음을 시사하고 있다. Baegilju is a famous traditional Korean wine made over the course of 100 days. The physiological functionalities of Baegilju were evaluated using different tests. The spectrophotometric method was used to determine the total concentration of polyphenolics and flavonoids and DPPH and ABTS radicals. A nitrite scavenging assay was used to evaluate antioxidant activity. The fibrin plate method was used for fibrinolysis and to evaluate angiotensin I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity; finally, the colorimetric determination method was used to evaluate acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory activity. The total polyphenolic content of non-sterilized Baegilju and sterilized Baegilju were 391.59 μg and 401.33 μg tannic acid equivalents/ml, respectively; and the flavonoids contents were 284.75 μg and 308.35 μg quercetin equivalents/ml, respectively. Baegilju exhibited more excellent antioxidant activities (DPPH and ABTS radicals, nitrite scavenging activity) than did Cheongju. In addition, the fibrinolytic activity and AChE inhibitory activity were found to be higher in Baegilju than they were in Cheongju. The ACE inhibitory activity of non-sterilized Baegilju, sterilized Baegilju, and Cheongju were 23.62%, 19.99%, and 38.91%, respectively. Therefore, these results suggest that Baegilju has potential as an antioxidant agent and anti-thrombosis agent.

        목련잎 추출액을 이용한 자성 나노입자의 합성

        When iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized by co-precipitation method using aqueous ammonia as reducing agent, the synthesized particles were aggregated and thus precipitation occurred. Using Magnolia kobus leaf extract as reducing agent, spherical nanoparticles of 50~200 nm were synthesized with low yield. By using both Magnolia kobus leaf extract and aqueous ammonia as reducing and stabilizing agents, smaller nanoparticles of 40~120 nm could be synthesized with various shapes. The synthesized magnetic nanoparticles were characterized with field emission transmission electron microscopy (FE-TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). TEM and SEM images showed that the magnetic nanoparticles are a mixture of triangles, tetragons, rods and spherical structures.

        Sol-Gel법에 의해 제조된 Zirconia 나노분말의 결정상과 기공특성

        Sol-Gel법에 의해 출발물질로 zirconium-n-butoxide(ZNB)와 yttrium nitrate를 사용하여 yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) 나노분말을 제조하였다. 또한 ZNB의 가수분해 동안 첨가된 물량의 변화가 얻어진 YSZ 나노분말의 결정상과 기공특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 하소온도 변화에 따른 결정상 변화는 첨가된 물량에 관계없이 동일한 양상을 보였다. 즉, 100℃에서 건조된 분말은 모두 비정질상이었으며, 400℃에서 입방정상의 결정구조로 전환되었고, 1,000℃에서 정방정상과 단사정상이 나타나 1,400℃까지 정방정상과 단사정상이 공존하는 결정구조를 보였다. ZNB의 가수분해 중 물의 양이 비교적 적게 첨가된 경우로(H_2O/ZNB=20이하) 제조된 분말은 mesopore의 기공분포를 보인 반면, 물의 양이 비교적 많이 첨가된 경우에서는 (H_2O/ZNB=50이상) micropore의 기공분포를 보였다. Yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ) nanopowders were prepared by sol-gel method using zirconium-n-butoxide(ZNB) and yttrium nitrate as precursors. In addition, the effect of water content added during the hydrolysis reaction of ZNB was investigated on the phase composition and pore structure of the product powders. The phase composition of YSZ nanopowders with calcination temperatures showed the same trend, irrespective of H_2O amounts added during the hydrolysis reaction of ZNB. All powders dried at 100℃ were amorphous and transformed to cubic phase at 400℃, which converted to tetragonal phase at 1,000℃. Monoclinic phase also appeared at 1,000℃. The powders showed the mixture of tetragonal and monoclinic phases from 1,000℃ to 1,400℃. The pore size distributions of the dried powders prepared with small amounts of water(less than or equal to H_2O/ZNB=20) showed mesopores, while those prepared with large amounts of water(greater than or equal to H_2O/ZNB=50) exhibited micropores.

        Aniline Terminated Waterborne Polyurethane과 PEDOT/PSS의 블렌딩에 의한 대전방지 코팅용액의 제조

        Polyurethane prepolymers were prepared from poly (carbonate diol), isophrone diisocyanate and dimethylol propionic acid. Then, aniline terminated waterborne polyurethane dispersion (ATPUD) was synthesized by capping the NCO group of the prepolymer with aniline monomer. Subsequently, ATPUD and waterborne polyurethane dispersion (PUD), respectively, were blended with conducting polymer, poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/polystyrene sulfonate [PEDOT/PSS], to yield antistatic coating solutions, and the mixture was coated on the polycarbonate substrates. At adequate addition amounts of PEDOT/PSS less than or equal to 2.5 g, the surface resistances (1.0×1011~2.5×108 Ω/ cm2) of coating films from ATPUD showed better electronic conductivities than those (5.0×1011~6.3×109 Ω/cm2) from PUD. However, at excess amount of PEDOT/PSS of 3.0 g, the surface resistance from ATPUD showed similar electronic conductivity with that from PUD.
