Recently, the AC motor which has a simple structure and needs less maintenance has become to be used frequently as a servomotor for position control in the automatic control field. This paper concerns with a method to improve the current waveveforms of the variable speed30 AC motor system driven by the single-pulse PWM, and the current waveforms are analyzed by FFT under various running conditions. The system is composed of a digital bridge inverter, low pass LC filter, and 3Φ AC motor. By the performance anaysis through the computer simulations and experiments , AC source of pseudo sine waveform can be obtained from the modulated alternating square voltage by means of the well designed LC filter.

The application of A.C. motor to servomotor is rapidly increased according to the recent advance of power electronics and digital control techniques. The induction motor is widely used in the industrial field for the variable speed and position control because of its simple structure and easy maintenance. In this paper, the speed of single phase induction motor driven by full bridge inverter is controlled by a PID controller under the condition of stepwise disturbance load changes, and the current characteristics of the system is investigated to look for the good properties of A.C. motor torque through the experiment. From the experimental results. it is confirmed that the speed of single phase induction motor driven by full bridge series inverter can be smoothly controlled by an analog PID controller.

An AC induction motor of constant speed characteristics has been widely used as power source because of simple structure and low maintenance cost in industrial field. Recently, the variable speed 3Φ induction motor driven by the inverter is utilized as a servo-motor of automatic control device and as a power source of elevator and electric locomotive, etc. The variable frequency AC source made by a conventional inverter which is composed of power semi-conductors and drive systems includes much noises in sine wave current due to high speed switching of direct current. In this paper, the low pass LC Filter for a variable speed induction motor driven by a full bridge inverter is introduced to solve EMI problem originated by much noise current. The modified LC filter based on the 3rd order Butterworth LC filter is used for the computer simulations and real experiments. The characteristics of proposed LC filter are investigated through FFT analysis. From experimental results, it is confirmed that noiseless AC current of sine wave fer a variable speed 30 induction motor can be obtained by the designed LC filter.

In this paper. the current characteristics of the system composed of R.L.C. load and series bridge inverter is investigated through the results of computer simulation and experiment to look for the good properties of A.C. motor driven by the above inverter. The time schedule of conventional bridge inverter and the parameters such as resistance and damping coefficient of load is changed for good results. It is possible to get the load current of similar sine wave under various conditions.

The propulsion marine diesel engine have been widely applied with a mechanical-hydraulic governor to control the ship speed for long time. Recently, it was very difficult for the mechanical-hydraulic governor to control the speed of engine under the condition of long stroke, low speed and a few cylinder because of jiggling and hunting. In order to remove these difficulties the digital governor system is adapted for the speed control of a low speed marine diesel engine. But there is the problem of confidence in digital governor systems due to low reliability of electronic parts under the bad condition such as high temperature, salty, watery air and intensive viberation in engine room. To solve the these problems of control system, the performance improvement of mechanical-hydraulic governor is required. In this paper, it is analyzed how much influence is given by a parameter variation of mechanical hydraulic governor for the speed control system by utilizing the Nichols chart, and the optimal parameters are investigated through the computer simulations. The performance improvement of a conventional mechanical hydraulic governor is confirmed to be possible by the above studies.

In this paper, the current waveform and dynamic characteristics of the proposed system which is composed of a full bridge inverter and low pass LC filter is investigated through the results of computer simulation and experiment to find out the good performance of variable speed AC motor. From the experiment results, it is confirmed that the load current of similar sine waves is to be got by the proposed low pass LC filter and the speed of single phase AC motor driven by a full bridge inverter can be smoothly controlled through a digital PID algorithm.
