본고는 신뢰도상에서 점차 중요시 되어가고 있는 전자통신 장비의 기구물 및 시설의 안정성에 관한 논문으로서 TDX-1 전자교환기를 현장에 설치할 때 시스팀을 고정한 앵커볼트 결합체(앵커볼트+콘크리트 바닥) 에 대한 것이다. 이 앵커볼트 결합체에 하중이 가해졌을 경우 어떤 식으로 파괴가 일어나며, 어느 정도의 하중에서 파괴가 일어나는 가를 수치적 해석과 실험적인 방법으로 산출하여 그 안정성을 입증하였다.

In proportion to the increased density in electronic packaging from chip to system levels of telecommunication system, thermal management is becoming a vital subject to save the cost of the electronic product and to maintain high reliability. The key to the successful application of the thermal management technique is the capability to predict the equipment thermal behaviors in early stage of system development and product design. This paper describes the application of correlations of natural convection to TDX-10 digital switching system, which has been under the 5 year development project since 1987, in order to predict equipment temperature and thermal behaviors whihin a rack.
열원이 바뀌는 고온용 히트파이프의 천이 과정 동작에 관한 수치적 연구

A numerical study on the transient vapor flow and heat transfer is performed to investigate the ideal switching operation of heat source in a high temperature heat pipe. The cylindrical 2-dimensional compressible laminar vapor flow is assumed for the vapor space and the conjugate heat transfer for the heat pipe wall, wick and vapor space is calculated. The different boundary conditions such as constant heat flux, convective or radiative boundary at the outer wall are used respectively to compare the influence of boundary conditions on the transient operation. The transient temperature profile and the internal flow of the entire pipe for the switching operation are described as a result. The results show that the transient time is not significantly affected by the boundary conditions at the outer wall in present study. During the transition, two independent flows are observed temporarily on the right side and left side of the heat pipe. It is also found that the trend of temperature variation in the vapor region is different from the variation in the wick and wall region.

Numerical and experimental studies on a heat pipe with two heat sources have been performed to investigate the operating characteristics. Numerical analysis was performed based on the cylindrical two-dimensional incompressible laminar flow for the vapor space and the conjugate heat transfer for the entire heat pipe. Experimental study with a 0.45 m length copper-water heat pipe was also performed to validate the numerical modeling for the heat input range from 29 W to 47 W on each heater. As results, the temperature profiles at the outer wall for the single active heat source as well as the temperature profiles for the switching operation between two heat sources are suggested. Due to the axial conduction, it is found that the temperature drop between the evaporator and the condenser appears small when the heat source closer to the condenser is turned on. For the switching operation in the present study, the transient time is about 700s and the temperatures at the locations of both heat source are same in 130s after switching.

High-power electronic chips have been advanced to such an extent that the heat dissipation capability of a system design has become one of the primary limiting factors. Therefore, thermal design must be considered in the early stage of the electronic system development. In present paper, the results of an experimental study on the forced convection cooling are presented to evaluate cooling performance of an electronic cabinet which in generally used for telecommunication system. Temperatures and thermal resistances are applied to compare the heat transfer characteristics for various locations of a fan unit as well as various configuration of non-uniform powering modules. As a result, the optimal configuration of a fan unit and powering configuration is suggested for the effective thermal design of telecommunication system.
CALCULATION OF FLOW FIFLD IN A CHANNEL SUBJECTED TO PRESSURE-BASED BOUNDARY CONDITION

A numerical analysis was performed for the flow field in the vertical channels consist of dummy cards and active cards to define the hydrodynamic role of dummy card which is often installed in electronic equipment between active cards to control the cooling air distribution. For a given velocity profile at the inlet and a pressure-based boundary condition at the outlet of the computation domain, the percentage of the flow rate distribution through active channel and dummy channel formed by an active card and dummy card, respectively, were investigated. As a result of present analysis, the pecentage of flow rate through active channel increases quadraticaly with the increase of the ratio of the height of barrier to the width of the dummy channel.

반도체 집적 기술의 개발과 실장 기술의 발전으로 전자장치는 점점 열밀도가 높아지고 있다. 여기서는 PBA가 수직으로 배치된 전자장치를 대상으로, 먼저 자연공냉과 PBA사이에서 발생하는 2차원 유동의 열적 특성을 고려한 후에, 최고 온도 상승률에 대하여 비대칭 열유속에서의 상한값과 대칭 열유속에서의 하한값을 구하는 과정을 기술하였다. 이것은 시스팀 설계 초기 단계에서 온도예측을 하여 시스팀 신뢰도를 향상시키도록 하기 위한 것이다.
광대역 멀티미디어 서비스를 위한 실험용 Ka 대역 위성통신 탑재체 개발

한국전자통신연구원은 국내 위성에 적용될 Ka 대역 위성통신 탑재체를 엔지니어링 모델로 개발하였다. 개발된 Ka 대역 탑재체는 대용량의 통신 서비스를 위한 200 MHz 채널 폭을 제공하며 대칭 및 비대칭 인터넷을 비롯하여 고품질의 멀티미디어 서비스와 155Mbps급 국간 중계서비스를 제공하는데 활용된다. 시스템 구성으로는 저잡음 증폭기-주파수 변환기, 채널 증폭기-고전력 증폭기로 구성되며, 다른 형태의 고전력 증폭기인 고체전력증폭기(SSPA)와 진행파관증폭기(TWTA)를 사용하여 시스템 구성에 유연성을 높였다. 구성품중 안테나, 저잡음증폭기,고체전력증폭기, 입력 광대역 여파기, 입.출력 채널 여파기는 ETRI에서 직접 개발하였다. 본논문은 이와 같01 구성한 Ka 대역 위성통신 탑재체의 구성부품 및 구조와 제작된 중계기에대한 RF 성능 시험 결과를 기술한 것이다. ETRI developed the engineering model Ka-band satellite communications system. This system is able to provide a high data rate communication service with a bandwidth of 200 MHz, a wideband digital trunking services up to 155 Mbps and symmetrical/asymmetrical internet multimedia services. The system employs the common receive/transmit antenna and the LNA-Downconverters. The different types of high power amplification, TWTA for one chain and SSPA for the other chain, are used for the variety of experimental options. The frequency selective surface type Antenna, MMIC LNA, MMIC SSPA, Input Filter, Input/Output Channel Filter developed by ETRI are verified via this system. This paper describes the results of the parametric RF test of this payload.
