In this study, hazardous heavy metals used in 1,081 samples from childcare rooms were investigated with X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) analyses. Pb > Ba > Zn > Cr > Sb of heavy metals from paints and vinyl sheets were detected in order of descending concentration. A comparison of the analytical results from portable XRF and ICP revealed that, there was a similar tendency although there was a slight difference between the two measured datasets. The evaluation showed that the hazardous heavy metal of the highest concentration was Cd followed by Cr > Cu > Ba > Co > Pb > Sb. Therefore, XRF could be useful for measuring heavy metals above a certain concentration with the primary screening method. To keep childcare rooms healthy, it is necessary to add Ba, Sb and Zn which are contained in high concentrations in interior finishing materials to environmental safety standards.

Purpose: This study aimed to determine whether there was a difference in infection rates between periodic exchange of tracheostomy tubes every 14 days and every 28 days. Methods: We searched five electronic databases and reviewed the studies according to these criteria. The final three studies (one non-random control study and two guidelines) were selected. Results: The quality evaluation results were checked as recommendations for the two guidelines and as having a low risk of bias for one study. One study was also checked to be 2++ according to the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network. When the tracheostomy tube is exchanged every 28 days, there is insufficient evidence that the infection rate is high compared to the case of exchanging every 14 days. Conclusion: We recommend that patients have their tracheostomy tubes exchanged every 28 days. In the patient group at high risk of infection, the timing of the exchange should be determined according to the clinical condition of the patient.
근거기반실무 교육 프로그램이 임상간호사의 근거기반실무 준비도 및 근거기반 의사결정에 미치는 효과

Purpose: Today's clinical nurses deal with complex problems that need accurate evidence for practice and decision making. In this study the effectiveness of an EBP education program was examined. Methods: A pre-posttest design was used for this study and participants were 46 nurses working at a tertiary hospital located in Suwon, Korea. Date collection was done before and after the education program, from July 27 to October 2, 2015. Data were analyzed using paired t-test and ANCOVA with SPSS 21.0. Results: There were significant differences in scores before and after the EBP education program for EBP readiness: belief (t=-5.65, p<.001), implementation(t=-2.89, p=.006), competence (t=-4.21, p<.001), and for evidence-based decision making (t=-16.25, p<.001) by the nurses. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the EBP education program has positive effects on EBP belief, implementation, competence and evidence-based decision making. In the future, it is necessary to reinforce the content of the program in the clinical workplace and to provide continuous education for clinical nurses.
