The reaction of Cu metal with telluride in the sodium polytelluride flux at 400 ℃ produced the simple two-dimensional [CuTe]^- anionic layer compound with sodium ion as a charge balancing cation. The anionic structure resembles ideal anti-PbO structure. Its synthesis and characterization are discussed in detail.
Ethylenediamine-N, N'-di-S-α-Propionic Acid의 Alanine과 Cysteine 코발트(Ⅲ) 착물

△-s-cis-H[Co(SS-eddp)Cl_2]H_2O 착물과 amino acid인 alanine 또는 cysteine과의 치환반응을 통하여 새로운 amino acid의 코발트(Ⅲ) 착물을 합성하였다. Alanine과 dichloro코발트(Ⅲ) 착물의 치환반응을 통하여 s-cis-[Co(SS-eddp)(S-ala)] 착물을 얻었는데 이는 치환반응 과정에서 어떠한 isomerization도 일어나지 않았음을 보여준다. 새로이 합성한 이 착물의 기하학적 구조는 전자 흡수 스펙트럼과 핵 자기 공명 스펙트럼으로부터 결정하였다. 한편 cysteine은 alanine과 달리 코발트(Ⅲ) 금속에 배위할 수 있는 세개의 작용기를 가지고 있는데 dichloro코발트(Ⅲ) 착물과의 치환 반응 과정에서는 N과 S가 주게원자로 작용하여 cysteinato코발트(Ⅲ) 착물을 형성하였다. A series of new cobalt(Ⅲ) complexes of amino acid with SS-eddp have been prepared via the substitution reactions of dichloor cobalt(Ⅲ) complexes of SS-eddp with S-alanine and S-cysteine. These complexes have been characterized using IR, electronic absorption spectra, and pmr spectra. The coordination mode of cysteine in [Co(SS-eddp)(cy)]^- is through amino and mercaptide groups whereas S-alanine is coordinated through amino and carboxylate groups in [Co(SS-eddp)(S-ala)].

네자리 리간드인 ethylenediamine-N,N'-di-S-${\alpha}$-propionic acid (eddp)의 디클로로 코발트(III) 착물을 공기산화법에 의하여 합성하였다. eddp리간드는 코발트(III) 이온에 매우 입체선택적으로 배위하여 ${\Delta}$-S-cis 이성체만을 형성함이 관찰되었다. 합성된 착물의 구조는 원소분석, 적외선 분광분석법, 핵자기 공명 및 흡수스펙트럼으로 확인되었으며 특히 착물의 절대배열은 핵자기공명 스펙트럼으로 확인하였다. Dichloro cobalt(III) complex of a flexible tetradentate ligand of ethylenediamine-N,N'-di-S-${\alpha}$-propionic acid (eddp) has been prepared via the air-oxidation technique. Only ${\Delta}$-cis isomer has been yielded showing high stereoselectivity of the eddp ligand. Elemental analysis, ir, nmr and electronic absorption spectra have been used to characterize the complex and the absolute configuration of the complex is assigned by means of the nmr spectroscopy.
수소제조용 광전극을 활용한 Cr(VI) 환원처리에 관한 연구

Titanium foil and mesh(anodized tubular TiO2 electrode, ATTE) were anodized in a bath at 5 oC with 20V external bias applied, then annealed at different temperatures(450℃~850℃) to obtain tubular TiO2 on the Ti substrate. The prepared sample was used to investigate rate of hydrogen production as well as Cr(VI) reduction. The ATTEs annealed at relatively lower temperatures showed higher activity than those at relatively higher temperatures. In particular, the Cr(VI) reduction was pH-dependent. To improve photocatalytic Cr(VI) reduction with the ATTEs, two configurations, fixing foil type and rotating mesh type, were also compared. As a result, the rotating mesh type was much more effective for Cr(VI) reaction than the former due to the more efficient use of the light. In the rotating type reactor, as the rotating speed increased, the rate of the Cr(VI) reduction was getting faster.
Milling을 이용한 ZnS:Cu,Cl 형광체의 결정 상 변화 및 EL 특성 연구

A Green phosphor(ZnS:Cu,Cl) was manufactured by solid-liquid reaction for ELD (Electroluminescence Display). The effect of artificial crystal defect on phosphor surface for the ZnS phase conversion and luminescence efficiency have been studied. It was found that ZnS:Cu,Cl could convert to cubic phase more easily due to the formation of artificial crystal defect on 1st fired phosphor by milling process, resulting in improvement of luminescence of phosphor under the driven EL condition. We found out an optimized milling condition through considering effect of each milling conditions such as milling time and rate on defect. Also we determined relationship between EL emission luminescence and driving conditions. A efficient improvement above 50% was observed in electroluminescence by the artificial defect on ZnS:Cu,Cl phosphors compared to crude phosphor.
2015 개정 교육과정의 중학교 과학 교과서와 고등학교 화학 교과서의 연계 단원에 사용된 비유의 분석

In this study, we analyzed the analogies used in the interrelated chapters between Middle School Science and High School Chemistry textbooks published under the 2015 revised national curriculum. High School textbooks utilize more analogies than the Middle School textbooks, since the level of the contents gets more difficult moving into upper levels of chemistry textbooks. A frequency analysis of the analogy use shows that the section of “structure of matter” has the highest frequency, while “properties of matter” has the lowest. Most of the analogies are represented in a proper manner, but limitations and clear boundaries of analogies use have not been sufficiently mentioned. Based on these results, educational implications are discussed.

In order to improve the thermal quenching effect and emission efficiency in the conventional SrSi<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>N<sub>2</sub>:Eu<sup>2+</sup> phosphor, Sr<sup>2+</sup> ions were partially substituted with Mg<sup>2+</sup> ions. The resulting (SrMg)Si<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>N<sub>2</sub>:Eu<sup>2+</sup> phosphor was synthesized by a solid-state reaction and was characterized using X-ray powder diffraction and emission spectroscopy. Compared to the pure SrSi<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>N<sub>2</sub>:Eu<sup>2+</sup>, the emission intensity of new (SrMg)Si<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>N<sub>2</sub>:Eu<sup>2+</sup> phosphor was increased by 27 %, and the ratio of thermal quenching effect was increased up to 80.5 %. These improvements were mainly due to the size effect of Mg<sup>2+</sup>, which lead to the relaxation of local strain around the Eu<sup>2+</sup> ions in the (SrMg)Si<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>N<sub>2</sub>:Eu<sup>2+</sup> structure. As a result, Sr<sub>0.55</sub>Mg<sub>0.4</sub>Si<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>N<sub>2</sub>:Eu<sup>2+</sup><sub>0.05</sub> proves a better phosphor with high thermal stability suitable for its white light LED application.
