        동백 유박 에탄올추출물 및 분획물의 항산화 활성

        본 연구는 동백나무(Camellia japonica L.) 유박 추출물 및 분획물의 in vitro 항산화 활성에 대해 조사하였다. 동백나무 유박은 에탄올을 사용하여 추출하였으며, 이 후 부탄올(BuOH), 에틸아세테이트(EtOAc), 클로로포름 및 헥산을 이용하여 분획물을 조제하였다. 동백 유박 추출물 및 분획물의 항산화 활성을평가하기 위해 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2'- azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS+), hydroxyl radical, superoxide anion (O2 ) radical 소거능을 측정하였다. 동백 유박 추출물 및 분획물은 농도의존적으로 DPPH, ABTS+ 및 O2  radical 소거능을 증가시켜 항산화 활성을 나타내었다. 특히 동백 유박 BuOH 분획물은 다른 추출물 및 분획물에 비해 가장 높은 radical 소거능을 나타내었다. 동백 유박 BuOH 분획물의 총 폴리페놀 및 플라보노이드 함량은 각각 23.26 mg GAE/g 및 32.39 mg QE/g이었으며, 이는 다른 추출물 및 분획물보다 높은 수치임을 알 수 있었다. 동백 유박 BuOH 분획물및 EtOAc 분획물의 cameliaside B 함량은 각각 102.37, 165.05 μg/g임을 확인하여 다른 추출물 및 분획물에 비해 높은 수치를 나타냄을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 동백 유박 추출 및 분획물 중에서 BuOH 분획물 및 E tOA c 분획물은 다른 추출 및분획물에 비해 radical 소거능이 우수할 뿐 아니라 항산화 물질함유량이 높아, 항산화 기능성 소재로 활용될 수 있을 것으로사료된다. The aim of this study was to investigate in vitro antioxidant activities of defatted Camellia japonica L. seeds (DCJS). The DCJS were extracted using ethanol and then fractionated with butanol (BuOH), ethyl acetate (EtOAc), chloroform, and hexane. To evaluate antioxidant activity of extract and fractions from DCJS, we investigated free radical scavenging activities such as 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2'- azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS+), hydroxyl radical (•OH), and superoxide anion (O2 ) radicals. The five extract and fractions of DCJS dose-dependently increased DPPH, ABTS+ and O2  radical scavenging activities. The BuOH fraction of DCJS showed the highest free radical scavenging activities among other extract and fractions. The contents of total polyphenol and flavonoid in BuOH fraction of DCJS were 23.26 mg GAE/g and 32.39 mg QE/g, respectively. The polyphenol and flavonoids contents of BuOH fraction has highest than other extract and fractions. In addition, BuOH and EtOAc fraction of DCJS contained 102.37 and 165.05 μg/g of camelliaside B, respectively. Therefore, DCJS has higher antioxidant activity and may be useful as a natural antioxidant material.

        Cation Exchange Capacity in Korean Soils Determined by the Copper(II) Acetate Spectrophotometry Method

        Copper(II) acetate spectrophotometry method (CASM) was used for the rapid and convenient determinationof cation exchange capacity (CEC) in soils. This method is composed of a single-step exchange reaction thatadsorbs copper and is measured through spectrophotometry. The CEC of 16 Korean soils were measuredusing 1M ammonium acetate method (AAM) and the CASM. The CEC values determined by CASM andAAM were not significantly different, and were highly correlated (r = 0.966**). Due to the convenience, costeffectiveness, and time saving analysis of CASM, this method is recommended for most soil laboratories tomeasure CEC in Korean soils. However, CASM may not be applicable for soils that have a much higher CEC(greater than 20 cmolc kg-1).

        Study on Soil Erosion and Physical Characteristics of Jeju Volcanic Ash Soils Under a Rainfall Simulator Condition

        The objective of this study is to determine the effects of physical properties of soils on soil erosion under arainfall simulator. The soil samples were collected from five sites of dark brown soil (DBS), six sites of verydark brown volcanic ash soil (VDBAS), and eight sites of black volcanic ash soil (BVAS) in Jeju Island. Therainfall simulator, which ran for 30 minutes at a slope gradient of 10%, determined the amounts of soilerosion, infiltrated water, and runoff water. The particle size distribution, water-stable aggregates distribution,bulk density, organic matter content, and saturated hydraulic conductivity in soils were analyzed as well. Theamounts of soil erosion gradually increased and reached a steady state after 20 minutes. The amounts of soilerosion in BVAS were higher than that in other soils. It also correlated positively with the amounts of runoffwater and related negatively to the amounts of infiltrated water. The amounts of soil erosion in DBS andBVAS had a significant negative correlation with some particle size fractions and saturated hydraulicconductivity (p < 0.05). A significant positive correlation was observed between the amounts of soil erosionand the water-stable aggregates with the size smaller than 1 mm in DBS and VDVAS (p < 0.05). The bulkdensity and organic matter content did not significantly affect the amount of soil erosion. These resultsconcluded that the physical properties of soils affecting the amount of soil erosion varied among the color ofsoils in Jeju Island. It is suggested that the values of soil erodibility factor for the volcanic ash soils of JejuIsland need to be estimated with an alternative algorithm to predict the amount of soil erosion.

        The study is tried to look for the quantitative approach to Budgeting-Making the public sector and to be classified roughly Budgeting-Making into three fields private, city-government and federal government. The generalization of the approach is to be construed with traits and common features of each fields that are to be traced on three fields. The budget would be the combination between scarce resources and limitless desires and so the budged is the product of Politics. The study is to adjust the focus of the possibility which in forming the produce would be available to make it scientific to pool all social powers and represent social equality and values. The quantification sometimes loses sight of the nature of the subjects and will become to be a parochial, but the substance of the quantification would be criteria which leads to explain in more detail lots of phenomena and to guide the settlement and then it would not be far from a science. The quantitative approaches are consisted of two demensions-one is micro and other macro. Two demensions are reciprocal in nature and according to objects they will be applied to each other. Incrementalism is based on the approach and in fact it would be criticized as actualistic, negative or satisfied, but only the contents and the effects of the budget could be so. The nature of the budget is concentrated on its effectiveness and results than actualistic or negative. The quantitification of the budget therefore could accelerate that the budget is to be a science and could bring it to be scrutinized. The quantification could not mean the sole-equation but could come multi-demensionals and a complex of all elements to be simple and warm.
