Aerodynamic noise is becoming the major source of annoyance for modern cars recently and is caused by many different noise sources in a car. Appropriate CFD technologies, therefore, have been developed to resolve the noise problems related with aerodynamics. It is necessary for designers to fully understand the relationship between vehicle aerodynamics and wind noise acoustics. In this study, we simulate the flow fields around two different shapes of side mirror models of passenger car and analyze the noise phenomena around one side mirror model that has lower drag than the other model using Fluent 6.3.

외란 관측기 타입의 속도 추정 기법을 이용한 능동 흡음기에 대한 연구

Electroacoustic absorber uses pressure sensor and velocity sensor in order to make acoustic impedance of diaphragm satisfy impedance matching with characteristic impedance of air. If electroacoustic absorber array is made, the system becomes complicated and its cost increases. To overcome this problem, this paper suggest to use disturbance-observer-type velocity estimation scheme instead of velocity sensor for measuring velocity of the electroacoustic absorbers diaphragm. Explanation of electroacoustic absorber and disturbance-observer-type velocity estimation is included. Finally, the possibility of applying disturbance-observer-type velocity estimation is included. Finally, the possibility of applying disturbance-observer-type velocity estimation to electroacoustic absorber is verified thorough experimental results.
