The slot film cooling technique has been used to protect a chamber wall from hot combustion gas. This method has been applicable toramjet combustor and gas turbine. Especially, the multi-slot film cooling method is mainly applicable in the ramjet operating undersupersonic condition. This experimental study has been conducted to investigate effects of a recirculation zone and a lip thickness to slot height ratio on a multi-slot film cooling in the ramjet combustor. A pre-diffuser typed ramjet combustor having a recirculation zone due to the expansion step has been used for this study.

This paper experimentally deals with the relationship between the ankle electromyogram(EMG) and walking motion in order to activate the ankle joint of a walking-assistance robot for rehabilitation. Based on the anatomical structure and motion pattern of an ankle joint, major muscles were selected for EMG measurements. Surface EMG signals were monitored for several human bodies at various stride distances and stride frequencies. Root-mean-squared magnitude of EMG signals were related with the walking conditions. It appeared that the magnitude of the ankle EMG signal was linearly proportional to the stride distance and stride frequency, and thus to the walking speed.

This paper deals with an experimental study on the reaction of muscles by functional electrical stimulation(FES) with the design and fabrication of an ankle reaction apparatus. The ankle reaction apparatus consists of a circuit part and a kinematic part, and it monitors reaction time for a particular angle of joint rotation according to FES. The experimental results showed that the change of the ankle rotation angle was linearly proportional to the change of the magnitude of FES. It also showed that the muscle's reaction time was constant no matter how large the magnitude of the stimulus. The results of this paper can be applied to develop an active-type walking-assistance robot.
