수소저장합금이 수소를 흡수 또는 방출하면서 발열반응과 흡열반응을 일으키는 특성을 이용하여 산업공단지역의 폐열로부터 수소저장합금의 수소를 방출시키고, 이 수소를 인근 도시지역에 파이프라인으로 수송한 후 필요시 또 다른 수소저장합금과 반응시켜 열을 얻을 수 잇는 열저정 및 이용시스템에 대하여 고찰하였다. 이 시스템에서는 반응온도가 낮은 합금을 이용하여 냉열을 얻을 수도 있으며, 폐열의 저장수단으로, 또한 수소를 수송함으로서 열수송의 수단으로 활용할 수 있게 된다. 폐열 대신에 태양열을 이용할 경우의 태영열의 저장수단으로 수소저장합금을 이용할 수 있다. Metal hydrides can be used for the purpose of heat storage and transportation from the industrial complex which own recoverable waste heats to the neighboring cities by the medium of hydrogen. The properties of metal hydrides, some problems of heat transportation using metal hydrides, and the example of heat transportation system were discussed.

Catalytic combustion type gas sensor was fabricated by using γ-Al₂O₃, Pd catalyst and some binders for metane and propane detection. Using the gas sensor, digital gas meter was manufactured and tested for sensing performance. The fabricated sensor had power consumption of 700mW with applied voltage of do 2V and the output voltage of the sensor was about 700mV for propane of 1,000ppm and 500mV for methane of 1,000ppm. In 10 cycle injection of the gases of 2,400ppm. The digital meter showed good sensitivity, linearity. and reproductivity with precision of ±25ppm(±1%)

Figaro type gas sensor was fabricated with sensing materials in which mixed with SnO_(2) , Al_(2)O_(3) binder and palladium catalyst and, developed electronic parts. The SnO_(2) powders obtained by sol-gel method had a mean particle size of 0.93 p m and specific surface area of 32.5 m^(2)/g. And the γ-Al_(2)O_(3)with surface area of 180 m^(2)/g and a solution of 1M. PdCl_(2) were used for the synthesis of the sensing material. Mullite tubes of 0.8mm diamrter, Au pad electrodes of 0.3mm clearance, Au-Pd alloy lead wire of 80μm dia, heating element coiled with Kanthal wire of 60 μm dia were developed to use the gas sensor. The sensitivity of the sensors was excellent for the detection of methane, propane and carbon monoxide at about 490℃, 440℃ and 140℃, respectively.

DC Arc Plasma was applied in order to convert of hydrocabon fuels (Methane) to hydrogen, which has higher available energy. Plasma can generate very high temperatures with a high degree of control, using electricity. Plasma can be used to produce the pure hydrogen fuel, and has rapid response time. In addition, the use of plasma could provide for a greater variety of operating modes including the posibility of virtual elimination of CO2 production by pyrolytic operation and could obtain byproduct (Carbonblack).
