        홍삼성분(紅蔘成分)이 주정효모(酒精酵母)의 생리(生理)에 미치는 영향

        홍삼(紅蔘)의 ethanol추출물(抽出物)과 crude saponin, panaxadiol 및 triol계(系) 사포닌이 주정효모(酒精酵母) Saccharomyces cerevisiae IAM와 Saccharomyces formosensis No. 396 IAM의 생리(生理)에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 Hayduck 10% glucose 배양액(培養液)에 홍삼성분(紅蔘成分)을 $0{\sim}8.0%$의 농도(濃度)로 첨가(添加)하고 $30^{\circ}C$에서 120시간(120時間) 정치배양하면서 그 효과(效果)를 조사하였다. 효모(酵母)의 세포수(細胞數), 주성분(酒精分)의 생산량(生産量) 및 당(糖)의 소비율(消費率)가 발효율(醱酵率)은 2균주(2菌株) 모두가 홍삼(紅蔘)의 추출성분첨가전구(抽出成分添加全區)에서 무첨가구(無添加區)에 비(比)하여 증가(增加)되었고 ethanol 추출물(抽出物)은 1,5%첨가(添加)에서 사포닌은 Sacch. cerevisiae가 PD, Sacch. formosensis는 PT첨가(添加)에서 각각(各各) 최대(最大)의 증가(增加)를 나타내었다. $CO_2$의 발생량(發生量)에서도 같은 경향(傾向)으로 ethanol추출물(抽出物) 1.5%첨가(添加)에서 가장 빠르고 초대치(最大値)를 보였고 그이하(以下) 또는 그이상(以上)에서는 오히려 발효가 억제되었다. pH는 발효가 진행됨에 따라 서서히 저하되었다. 효모처리 발효는 첨가 홍삼추출성분(紅蔘抽出成分)의 사포닌패턴조성(組成)에 거의 영향을 주지않았으나 $ginsenoside-Rg_2$는 약간 증가되고 $ginsenoside-Rd$는 약간 감소되는 경향으로 2균주(菌株) 모두에서 나타났다. The red ginseng extract and its components were investigated for their activation effects on the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae IAM and Saccharomyces formosensis No. 396 IAM. Changes in the number of cells, alcohol production, $CO_2$ evolution, pH and the rate of sugar consumption and of fermentation were compared during growth at $30^{\circ}C$ for 120 hours. The addition of ethanol extract and saponins from red ginseng were found to exihibite a significant increase in all physiological activaties of yeast, and its maximum activites were obtained at 1.5% ethanol extract concentration. The physiological effects of panaxadiol and panaxatriol, two major groups of saponin, were also compared to those of crude saponin and found that the former showed a small increase in physiological changes. However the difference was not significant. The overall contents of ginsenosides of ethanol extract and crude saponin during fermentation were not significantly affected by the growth of roasts, except a small increase in ginsenoside $-Rg_2$ and decrease in -Rd.

        Dividing 554 male mice of S.M. strain, into sodium chloide grci:p (which received subcutaneous .aline injection) and cysteine group (which received subcutaneous injection of cysteire) with total bcdy X-irradiation, experiments were carried out. The cysteine dose was 700 mg/Kg (adjusted to pH 7.0). Three group were as control group (sodium chloride). On the other three group, cysteire was injected into a subcutaneous injection at one of the following times relation to X-irradiation: 30 minutes,5 hours, or 23 hours prior to exposure. The serum protein pattern, the serum level of total protein, and the ratio of liver and kidney weight to bcdy weight were studied during the 21 days following a single total bcdy exposure to X-ray (120 r, 20 r/minute). The serum levels of albumin-globulin ratio (A/G) and total protein have been studied in irradiated mice, using paper electrophoretic, Kjeldahl and Biuret metheds, respectively. Liver and kidney weighs were determined with torsion balance. 1) Total body X-irradiation cause a rise of the level of A/G ratio and a decrease of the level of total protein on mdium chloride group and cysteine group. The changes come in 2 phases with respect to time, the first phase.begining within ore. day of. exposure, the second phase begining about 8 days later. 2) Cysteine greatly delays the increase in the level of A/G ratio at 1 and 8 days, and the decrease in the level of total protein of 'mice to X-irradiation at 1, 5, and 8 days. 3) Cysteine greatly delays the decrease in the ratio of liver weight to body weight of mice to X-irradiation at 1, 5, and 8 days. On the other hands, kidney weight shows no recognizable change. 4) Rather comparable protection is obtained when cysteine is injected subcutaneously to mice 30 minutes prior to exposure (p<0. 01). Injection, 5 hours or 23 hours before the exposure, exhibits no influence with respect to protection. It may be inferred that cysteine greatly reduces the sensitivity of mice to X irradiation cn the blood protein and that the time course of cysteine protection reveal that the cysteine must be given 30 minutes prior to exposure.

        구인두 측벽에 기원한 혈관평활근종 1예

        We report a recently encountered case of angioleiomyoma in oropharynx. The patient was a 26-year-old woman. The main symp-ed a 3.5cm-sized, spherical mas with a smoth surface, originating in the right oropharyngeal wall. The tumor was sucesfuly re-moved using suspension microlaryngoscopy under general anesthesia. Histopathologicaly, it was wel circumscribed and composed of proliferating smoth muscle fibers and dilated blod vesels. The tumor is a benign nature and recurrence is rare. Complete re-moval is the treatment of choice with care taken to avoid profuse bleding. (Korean J Otorhinolaryngol-Head Neck Surg 2007;50:833-5)
