Surface tension as a function of concentration and temperature was measured for aquous solution of sodium N-acyl sarcosinate, RCON(CH₃)CH₂ COONa, From the intersection points in the (γ-logC) curves, the critical micelle concentration (cmc) was determined at 20, 30, 40, and 50℃. Structural effects on the cmc maximum and the minimum area per molecule at the aquous solution/air interface were discussed. The free energy, enthalpy, and entropy of micellization and adsorption of surfactant solution also were investigated. Numberous investigators have dealt with sodium N-acyl sarcosinates and their applications as wettings, flooding and reducing agents and as corrosion inhibitors.

New electroluminescent materials base on anthracene chromophore, [9.10-bis(${\alpha}$ 수식 이미지-naph -thylethenyl) anthracene (${\alpha}$ 수식 이미지-BNA)] were newly synthesized. The anthracene derivatives with bulky substituent possessed high melting point and they gave stable amorphous films through vacuum - sublimation methods. Three types of electroluminescent devices were fabricated with double layer and triple layer structure : ITO/TPD/emission layer/MgAg, ITO/emission layer/ OXD-7 and ITO/ TPD/ emission layer/OXD-7/MgAg, respectively. In three types of devices with the emissive layer of ${\alpha}$ 수식 이미지-BNA, efficient orange electroluminescence was observed. In the triple layer device whit a emitting layer of 20 nm thickness , maximum luminance was about 10000 cd/ $m^2$ 수식 이미지 at an applied voltage of 10v and maximum external quantum efficiency was 1.0%.

N/A Zinc complexes with Bis[2-(o-hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazolato ligands (ZnPBS-0) and Bis[2-(o-hydroxynaphthyl) benzothiazolato ligands (ZnPBS-05) were synthesized, and luminescent properties of these materials were investigated. The emission band found that it strongly depends on the molecular structure of introduced ligand and was tuned from 525 ㎚ to 535 ㎚ by changing the ligand structures. Spreading of the π-conjugation in 2-(o-hydroxyphenyl) group gives rise to a blue shift. On the other hand, spreading of the π-conjugation in benzothiazole groups leads to a red shift. The EL properties also showed good consistency with their differences of ligand structure. Bright-blue EL emission with a maximum luminance of 8300 cd/㎡ at 11V was obtained from the organic light - emitting diodes (OLEDs) using ZnPBS-0 as emitting layer. It was also found that the newly synthesized materials were suitable to be used as emitting materials in organic EL device.

백금전극에 의한 페놀의 전기화학적 산화거동을 순환 전류전압법에 의하여 연구 검토하였다. 페놀의 초기산화전위는 산성용액에서는 전해질용액의 액성에 크게 영향을 받으나, 염기성용액에서는 0.33-0.40V범위로 거의 일정한 산화전위를 나타내었고, 페놀의 농도변화에 따른 전기화학적 최적농도는 0.1N부근에서 가장 유리하였다. 그리고 주사속도변화에 따른 조사에서 페놀산화반응은 비가역적이고 확산이 이 반응을 지배한다. The electrochemical oxidation behavior of phenol on platinum anode had been investigated by cyclic voltammetric method. The initial oxidation potential of phenol was dependent on the pH in acid solution. But in basic solution, it was held 0.33-0.40V(vs. S.C.E.). The peak current was proportional to the concentration of phenol and the optimum concentration was found to be about 0.1N. The oxidation reaction of phenol was found to be irreversible and controlled by diffusion.
백금전극에 의한 p-methoxyphenol 의 양극산화 특성

Graft copolymerization of 4-vinylpyridine onto CA membrane was carried out in an aqueous medium by using ceric ammonium nitrate(CAN) as an initiator. The optmium condition for the graft copolymerization were 60℃; pretreatment and grafting 6 hours respectively; initiator concentration 0.03mol/L; pH 1; when the monomer concentration was 0.4mo1/L. Transport of phenol on aqueos solution through a porous membrane made by graft copolymerization was studied. the permeabilities of each phenol concentration were showed 250mg/L 1.1859×10^(-4) cm/sec, 500mg/L 1.0492×10^(-4)cm/sec and 1000mg/L 0.8597×10^(-4)cm/sec respectively. Permeability of phenol through the CA-g-poly(4-VP) membrane was better than through the pure CA membrane and was best in the graft 97% and showed the best selectivity in pH 7 rather than in pH 3 and pH 11. Thus, acid·base interactions between phenol moleculates and pyridine residues would be much more important than electrostatic interactions between phenolate ions and the pyridine residues.
파라메톡시페놀 및 히이드로퀴논 발수의 전기화학적 처리에 관한 연구

The electrochemical oxidation of p-methoxyphenol and hydroquinone for wastewater treatment application was investigated on platinum anode. At the cyclic voltammetry, it was observed that nagative shift of peak potential of p-methoxyphenol and hydroqinone as the pH of electrolytes increases and the peak current showed higher at strong electrolytes than weak electrolytes. In the case of p-methoxyphenol, the optimum electrode potential of controlled potential electrolysis was observed at the potential region of 0.8-1.0 (V vs. SCE) and hydroquinone was showed at the potential of 1.0(V vs. SCE). Specially the oxidation rate of p-methoxyphenol and hydroquinone was showed high value in the acid electrolytes.
