The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between switching barriers and continuous participation of indoor golf exercise grounds. For doing so, data were collected through the questionnaire. The sample was drawn form 449 participants of indoor golf grounds in Seoul, Kyungkido, 2009 year by using the quota sampling. The results of this study can be acquired as follows; First, there were difference in switching barriers according to demographic characteristics of participants of indoor golf grounds. Second, there were difference in continuous participation according to demographic characteristics of participants of indoor golf grounds. Third, switching barriers was influenced to continuous participation of indoor golf grounds.
The effects of physical education on elementary school students’ self-esteem levels
Baek, Jun-Hyung(백준형),Kim, Ha-Young(김하영) 한국체육과학회 2014 한국체육과학회지 Vol.23 No.3
Self-esteem has received attention from psychologists for the past few decades because the level of self-esteem is closely related to individual’s psychological well-being. Several studies have found a positive effect of physical activity on self-esteem. However, there is lack of study on the effect of physical education on young children’s self-esteem. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of quantity and duration of physical education class on 4thgrade students’ self-esteem levels. One hundred fourteen 4thgrade children attending two different elementary schools were recruited for this study. One of two schools offered 45minutes of physical education classes twice a week. The other school offered 25minutes of physical education classes five times a week. In formed consent forms were collected from the children’s parents or guardians prior to the data collection. All participants were asked to complete a Self-Perception Profile for Children (SPPC) survey and a Sport and Physical Activity Participation Questionnaire during their physical education class, in order to measure their self-esteem level. Descriptive statistics and ANCOVA were used for data analysis. The covariate, after-school PA program participation, was controlled by using ANCOVA The study found that there were significant differences in several aspects. There were significant differences in athletic competence and global self-worth in boys, and there was a significant difference in behavior conduct in giris. The interesting finding of this study was that the students attending two days of physical education classes displayed higher self-esteem levels than students of five days of physical education classes.

The purpose of this study was to examine how the frequency and duration of physical education classes influence children’s health-related physical fitness levels. One hundred and fourteen 4thgrade students from two elementary schools providing different frequency and duration of PE classes in Northern region of illinois participated in the study. Data were collected by using FITNESSGRAM test and after-school sport participation questionnaire during their regular PE classes. Data were analyzed by gender using descriptive analysis and statistical analysis (ANOVA). No significant differences in health-related physical fitness levels were found between students of the two elementary schools. This result may be because there was significant difference in after-school sports participation of students. In fact, students from school A attended the after-school program more often and spent significantly more time in the after-school programs than students in school B.

N/A To improve the solubility and dissolution rate of acyclovir (ACV), which is low oral bioavailability due to its properties of slight solubility in water and incomplete gastrointestinal absorption, the solid inclusion complexes of ACV with αCD, βCD, DMβCD in molar ratio of 1:1 were prepared by the freeze-drying method. The inclusion complexes were investigated by solubility study, UV, IR and DSC. The dissolution rate of ACV was significantly increased by ACV-CDs inclusion complex formation in artificial intestinal fluid at pH 6.8. The enhanced dissolution rate of ACV could be due to an increase of solubility and the formation of an amorphous structures through inclusion complexation with CDs. Especially, ACV-DMβCD inclusion complex enhanced the maximum plasma concentration levels and AUC following oral administration compared to those of ACV alone. The present results suggest that ACV-DMβCD inclusion complex serves as a potential carrier for improving the solubility, the dissolution rate and the bioavailability of ACV.

Eight rabbits exhibited head tilt and subsequently died. At necropsy, three rabbits had crusty deposits in ears and four had reddish lungs. The main histopathological features were severe diffuse suppurative meningoencephalitis (75.0% of rabbits), fibrinopurulent pneumonia (37.5%), and otitis externa (37.5%). Pasteurella multocida (P. multocida) was isolated from brains, ears, and lungs. The capsular serogroups of the isolates were untypable. Based on histopathological features and bacterial analysis results, the rabbits were diagnosed as P. multocida infection. P. multocida infections might result in considerable economic loss in commercial rabbit production facilities in Korea.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among fun factors of physical education (PE), academic stress, and school life satisfaction. A total of 165 1st and 2nd-year female high school students participated in this current study. To collect the data, three questionnaires measuring three were used. The correlation coefficient(r), frequency analysis, and multiple regression were performed by using SPSS 22.0. The analysis founds the followings. First, the fun factor was negatively correlated with academic stress and was positively correlated with school life satisfaction. Also, academic stress and school life satisfaction were negatively correlated. Second, friendship socialization showed a significant impact on five elements (grade stress, class stress, study stress, career stress, interpersonal satisfaction). Third, physical fitness had a significant impact on the school rules and the satisfaction of special activities. Also, social support was significantly influenced by friendship satisfaction. The results of this study suggest that the fun factors of PE influences female high school students’ academic stress and school life satisfaction positively. Based on the results, it is suggested that the fun factor in PE should be increased to reduce female high school students’ academic stress and enhance their satisfaction with school life.

The 302 patients with head-injured military personnel who had admitted to the Department of neurosurgery. Capital Armed Forces General Hospital were clinicostatistically analysed and discussed with the review of the literatures. The results were as follows : 1) The most common cause of head injury was traffic accident(38.4% of the total cases) and the next were, in order of incidence, simple fall (19.5%), exercise(13.9%), assault(13.5%) and gun shot wound or explosive injury(7.2%). 2) Skull fracture was identified in 214 cases : 98 cases of linear, 87 cases of depressed, 4 cases of basal, 2 cases mixed skull fracture. 3) The 85.7% of epidural hematomas were associated with skull fracture and the most common site of hematoma was frontal area. 4) Of all cases of subdural hematoma, acute type was prevalent(67.9%) and its main involved site was frontotemporoparietal areas. 5) The associated injuries were found in 35.7% of patients. The frequent ones were skeletal injury of extremity, facial bone fracture, chest injury, spinal injury, visceral injury and eye ball rupture, in order. 6) The minor head injury of which GCS is from 13 to 15 was 148 cases, the moderate head injury of which GCS is from 9 to 12 was 49 cases, the severe head injury of which GCS is form 3 to 8 was 105 cases. 7) Of 105 cases of severe head injured patients the mortality was 61.9% and good recovery was 7.6%. But outcome was different according not only to GCS but also to the type of lesion. 8) The operative morality was 24.1% and the good recovery was achieved 55.2% of patients. The remaining 8.9% resulted in disabled or vegetative state. 9) In the accidents of gun shot wound or explosive injury, operation mortality rate was 31.8%, but 8 cases(36.3%) were seen good recovery.
