        제주도내 마을공동목장의 초지관리 이용 및 식생상태의 조사

        Pasture management and utilization for beef production, and botanical composition of the pasture on 81 cooperate village farms in Cheju-Do were surveyed through questionnaires and site visits. The study period was 28 days from October 2 to October 30, 1985. The pasture consisted of 45% improved grassland, in which 24.3% of grass species were imported. The improved pastures were fertilized once a year 100-150㎏ urea/㏊. Grazing period of the pastures was about 5 months, beginning late April or early May (60.5% of the pastures) and ending early-or mid-November (80.3%). Distribution of types of vegetation was, in order of magnitude, native pasture (38.7%), improved pasture (24.3%), shrub(10.0%), unfavorable weeds (8.3%). Species found with the highest percentage was Zoysia japonica (73.9%) in the native pasture, Festuca arundinacea (40.3%) in the improved pasture and Pterfdium aquilium (54.4%) among unfavorable weeds.

      • 북방형목초의 예취시 초장에 따른 저장 탄수화물 함량과 생산성에 관한 연구

        This study was carried out to investigate the effects of different plant helght on the total water soluble carbohydrate in the leaf, stem, and root of orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerota), perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) and red top (Agrosfis alba), grasses of temperate origin grown in experimental plots at Cheju National University, from September, 1984 to September, 1985. The results obtaind were as follows; 1. The dry matter produrtlvity of orchardgrass was 1,449kg/10a, of perennial ryegrass, 757kg/10a and of red top, 531kg 10a. The dry matter yield of orchardgrass was higher than the other grasses and when compared with the others was statistically highly significant(P<0.01) 2. The total dry matter yield varled according to plant height cutting. There were highly significant differences between grasses 20cm and 30cm or 40cm tall. However, there were no statistically significant differences between grasses 30cm and 40cm in height. 3. During the hot season, when grasses were cut for the third time. the total water soluble carbohydrate decreased in orchardgrass and perennial ryegrass but increased in red top. 4. Except for a slightly Increased total water soluble Carbohydrate in all parts of grasses at 2Ocm tall, there were no differences in carbohydrate content at other helghts. 5. The dry matter yield of orchardgrass and perennlal ryegrass at 2Ocm rose as the total water soluble carbohydrate increased but decreased in red top at all plant height. Statlstically, there was no significant correlation between total water soluble carbohydrate and dry matter yield of grasses.
