CIS 지역 재외동포 대상 한국 문화 교육 항목 개발을 위한 기초 조사 연구

Bilingual Research 45, 51-75. This study aims to investigate the needs of developing Korean culture education topics for overseas Korean language teachers and learners in the C1S area. There have been numerous discussions within Korean language education regarding effective ways to deliver Korean culture education. Rather than dealing with it in a one-sided way as it was done in the past, recent discussions have yielded a viewpoint that Korean culture education may be more effective if approached from the comparative culture perspective. Against this backdrop, first, some of the cultural topics from the Korean textbooks were extracted and then their preferences were determined. Alter that, a needs analysis was done to find cultural elements that weren`t included in the textbook and materials to be used in the US area. Findings from the study will be used as basic research references for developing culture education materials specific to this area.(Kyung Hee University)

This study aims to explore the development of Korean language textbooks for ethnic Koreans abroad from its initial stage to the present situation as well as the efficacy of Korean language texts for the purpose of instructing ethnic Koreans who have lived abroad. This paper will analyze developed textbooks for ethnic Koreans who have lived abroad in terms of various criteria such as timeliness as well as demand. We will also inspect the meaning and purpose of incorporating the education of local customs in the development of teaching materials for this target audience. Despite efforts on the part of the Korean government and its education policy encouraging the training and education of specialists for training overseas Koreans there is still a need to develop a systematic Korean textbook for this specific purpose. To this end, there are a variety of teaching resources being developed to strengthen teacher training and development. Because the Korean language education of ethnic Koreans abroad presents its own special challenges, educational efforts should focus on expanding the groundwork previously laid and to develop a unified forum for sharing our educational efforts. In addition, there is a further need to develop a comprehensive textbook due to current trends immigration policies as well as policies governing minority languages.(Kyung Hee University)
