        The tumor enhancing factor was first noted by Flexner and Jobling (1907), and has been the subject of study by many investigators. It is well known fact that the enhancing effect essentially consists of an increased growth of tumor homograft in hosts pretreated with donor tissue or tumor tissue (Snell et al. 1946, 1948), and in a few instances the injection on the same day or one day after grafting led to progressive tumor growth. Littman, Kim and Suk (1968) reported that they succeeded in complete immunization to Sarcoma 180 with UV-killed Sarcoma 180 ascites tumor cell vaccine. The authors injected the same preparation on the same day or one day to 10 days after the grafting of Sarcoma 180. The UV-killed Sarcoma 180 ascites tumor cell vaccine has no enhancing effect on Sarcoma 180 solid form.

        예이츠 시의 포스트콜로니얼적인 접근

        In recent years, many of literary works in English has been produced from the so-called Third World. The notion of contemporary poetry, however, remains strikingly provincial in the anglophone Western World. Also, even though the conceptions of American poetry have expanded to include minority writers of the Third World, the story of the glottalization of English poetry remains largely untold. Why is postcolonial poetry so much less visible in modern literary world? The term postcolonial has often been criticized for erasing cultural and historical differences, so it can be useful in highlighting similarities and differences among various cultures still grappling with their colonial histories. Yeats has been placed in many literary and hermetic societies. For the constituencies of Yeats studies, the claiming Yeats as postcolonial can help renew attention to a poet who, often charged with antifeminism and reactionary politics, has been losing ground to postmodernism, antiformalism, and ethnic writing. Yeats's postcolonization can strengthen the claim of Irish studies to be a player in the vibrant field of postcolonial studies. If we define the Easter Rising is the crucial moment, Easter, 1916 would qualify as postcolonial. If postcoloniality is construed not as after decolonialization but as since colonization, then Yeats is more easily swept whole into the postcolonial canon, but so would be all kinds of Irish literature since the early 20th century, perhaps stretching the term postcolonial beyond use. So, we can have difficulties in defining Yeats as a postcolonial poet.

        남북 어문규범 통합의 사회적 조건에 대하여

        Given the fact that dominant discourse on the integration of South and North Korean language norms has been biased toward a linguistic logic, we explore how to form a discourse that considers socio-political conditions around norm integration by conducting a discourse analysis of three papers: Im(2011), Hong(2007), and Kim(2019). First, we regarded the integration of the two Korean language norms as a writing system reform and reviewed historical cases of successful writing system reforms to induce the mechanism of a writing system reform. This confirmed that the writing system functioned as a social symbol of a group and that most effective reforms of the writing system were accompanied by abrupt political changes that required new symbols to support their pursuing values. Therefore, we argue that the discourse on the integration of the two Korean writing systems should be formed closely in relation to the socio-political conditions, especially a sort of unification type. Second, we conducted a discourse analysis of three papers that examined the integration of the two Korean writing systems conditioned by a specific type of unification. In the case of the model of South-led absorption unification, it was argued that the two writing systems would be unified according to South Korean norms for administrative convenience. From another perspective of the model pursuing the integration of the Korean ethnic communities, mutual negotiation between South and North Korea was requested to establish a single writing system for all Koreans including overseas Koreans. When presupposing the model focusing the peace and co-existence of South and North Korea instead of a political unification, it was possible to emphasize the rights of individual language users and to allow multiple writing systems for multi-layered language societies rather than a national or ethnic unit.

        천년초 발효물의 라디칼 소거능

        The aim of this work was to select suitable fermentation treatments for the efficient bioconversion of cactus (Opuntia humifusa Raf.) bioactive components with an improved radical scavenging activity for use as a nutraceutical. To obtain microorganisms for the microbial conversion of cactus, Leuconostoc mesenteroides ATCC8294, Lactobacillus plantarum KCTC 3099, Lactobacillus plantarum KERI 236 and Monascus pilosus KCCM 60029 (ATCC 22080) were used for fermentation. Fermentation by Lac. plantarum KCTC 3099 was the most effective at scavenging 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl hydrate (DPPH) and 2,2-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radicals and reducing iron (III). In particular, uronic acid levels showed a remarkable increase in fermentation. The polyphenol and quercetin content of the fermented cactus showed large increases from $108.65{\mu}g/mL$ and $2.71{\mu}g/mL$ to $227.83{\mu}g/mL$ and $9.73{\mu}g/mL$, respectively, showing a maximum level at 36 h of fermentation with Lac. plantarum KCTC 3099. Thus, cactus fermentation with Lac. plantarum is an useful process for the enhancement of antioxidant contents and activity of fresh cactus.

        예이츠의 아니마 문디와 지역령

        예이츠 철학의 핵심 사상이라고 말할 수 있는 아니마 문디는 추상적인 개념이 아니라 이 세상과 우리 인간을 움직이는 실체의 힘을 의미한다. 많은 학자들에 의해 시적 감수성의 비유로만 파악이 되었던 아니마 문디는 이제 예이츠 시와 예술의 핵심요소가 되었다. 이 글에서는 아니마 문디, 혹은 세계령의 기본이 현세와 과거를 연결해 주는 요정과 귀신이 출몰하는 지역에 있는 지역령이라고 주장한다. The Anima Mundi is a cosmic animating force which governs all the natural and supernatural world, records all the actions of human experiences, produces and receives all individual souls repeatedly, and mediates between the Supreme Being and the material world. Yeats personally experiences plenty of supernatural and mysterious phenomena in the locales and takes the Spirit of Place as the threshold, or the entrance, of the world of Anima Mundi.
