        The purpose of this paper is to analyze multiple characteristics of Chunhyang in aspect of pathological side, to find out the equipment of literature. By this investigation, continuous interest of people toward < Chunhyangjeon > is not caused by `virtuous Chunhyang` but `self matureness` Above all, investigating the cause of multiple characteristics and the pattern of activities; ① Excess of consciousness from classification complex. in the end, activities are following after noble ladies. ② Self dismemberment from the alienation between idea and reality, in the end, activities are following after humble ladies. Childish Chunhyang with above described multiple characteristics was reborn as a matured lady with firmed consciousness while she was trying to overcome ex-herself for the moral duty of faithfulness toward Mr. Lee. Device of Literature is the dream. While Chunhyang was struggling with her bad situation, she met several virtuous women who were esteemed by herself and she was consolidated and complimented by them. And she found out the meaning of devoted love for Mr. Lee. and got to establish the strongly firmed self following after her belief only.

      • 고소설에 나타난 이비고사(二妃故事) 수용의 심리적 요인

        In old Korean novel, there is inserted the motive that the special relation between several women and only one man, and got along well all together without conflict. The sharing consciousness of one man by several women was the inevitable choice to the weak women in the old society where the expressions of women`s jealousy were oppressed, and with the social corrupt phenomenon in which men`s free relationships among many women. But the sharing one man among several women was recognized as an abnormal means, it could resulted in social criticism or hurt women`s self respect. So they had to prevent themselves from doing harm their selfesteem and to have the proper prescription to have other`s blame disappeared. In order to maintain the desire of human being living in common plain world without descending position of desire superficially, it may seem resonable to imitate the old instructive tales of the old sages. Through them, they could cure their the nature of a disease in the corrupt social symptom and have the social blame disappeared. < Yibigosa >, the first tale in Chinese story「Yearlyeojean」is showing the sharing one man by several women. The story could be the policy of justification for women themselves who were suffering from the jealous emotion in the old society system allowed a man to have not a wife but many wives. < Yibigosa > also may seem effective, for it can be admitted the justification as the means of harmony among females. In the society allowed a man to have many wives, < Yibigosa > as the literary work is expected to cure effectively the disease such as desire of love, desire for rising social position, friendship isolation by marriage, etc. Although it can`t afford to get rid of the source of the disease thoroughly, by the second therapy, sharing one man among women, they can get some effect. Such the justification of self through imitation of the old instructive tales is corresponded to the epic of self supposed as an important concept in literary therapy.

        해외개척 대도(大盜)설화의 소설 유입 양상과 의미 - 〈허생전〉과 〈홍길동전〉의 경우

          The purpose of this paper is to figure out the pattern of the development abroad thief story and how these stories improved to 〈Husengjeon〉 and 〈Honggildongjeon〉. The relationship between Island and thief is supposed to be closed to the time as late Chosun era. And the study results are as followings;   Firstly, in late Chosun, there was increased interest in big thieves, who were highly regarded as Good thieves. So some scholars who couldn"t come true their own wishful thinking became the chief of the thieves and took valuables from the corrupted officials. These weird life style was regarded as an ideal one among social trends.   Secondary, this social trend brought an island in the middle of the sea instead of mountain as a stage for thieves, and some moral scholars were interested in guide of thief groups in a good way instead of one by using criminals. They"d like to build ideal kingdom by using the labors of the thieves. 〈Husengjeon〉 is a representative work for this.   Thirdly, 〈Honggildongjeon〉 was regarded as this kind of work but this was created 150years ahead of 〈Husengjeon〉, but there were some doubts and some weird changing happened to the latter half of this work. Original work written by author Hukyun doesn"t any contents like 〈Husengjeon〉.   Forth, there are some records in "Bo" 『Haedongijeok』, which has a description on Honggildong who was regarded a great and he built a kingdom abroad. This record can be compared to other historical facts and other edit of 〈Honggildongjeon〉. Then this contents were added in late Chosun reflecting those era social trends.

        고소설 속 기녀의 정조의식과 가정 내 안주 문제

        고소설에서 기녀결연서사는 기녀의 신분적 특수성 때문에 다양한 양상으로 전개되어 조선후기 남녀결연서사의 주류를 이룬다. 기녀는 연애의 대상이 되기도 하고, 남성의 출세를 돕는 후원자가 되기도 하며, 더 나아가 남성의 대외활동을 적극적으로 보좌하는 경우도 있다. 남주인공과의 관계에서 이처럼 중요한 역할을 하는 기녀를 서사의 결구에서는 가정 내부로 안주시켜 행복한 결말을 맺어야 하는데, 기녀의 정조문제가 당대 사회에서 요구하는 성윤리와 충돌하게 되는 것이다. 기녀가 사대부 가정에 안주하는 양상은 남성의 출세에 기여한 내조, 기녀로서 갖추기 어려운 정조라는 두 축과 긴밀하게 관련되어 있다. 가정 내 위상이 비교적 낮은 첩의 신분으로 안주하는 경우는 두 가지인데, 기녀로서의 행실을 사실적으로 인정하고 남성을 내조하여 기생첩으로 안주하는 경우가 있고, 순결의식을 강하게 부각시켜 가정 내 소실로 안주하는 경우가 있다. 이보다 가정 내 위상이 격상된 본처나 그에 비견할 부실이 되는 경우는 남성의 출세를 적극적으로 돕고, 또한 결연 후 수절하여 그에 대한 포상으로 가자(加資)를 받아 본처에 비견할 부실로 안주하는 것이다. 그런데 남성에 대한 뚜렷한 내조는 없더라도 순수한 사랑으로 결연을 맺고 이 후 수절한 경우는 그 수절을 더 크게 포상 받아 신분상승을 이루고 본처로 안주하게 된다. 결국 기녀의 가정 내 안주에는 내조와 정조 두 요소가 긴밀하게 연계되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 그러나 기녀의 내조는 현실적 기반에서 남성에 대한 결정적 기여로 볼 수 있음에도 신분상승이나 남성에게 의탁하려는 의도가 전제되어 있다고 보아 높은 위상을 부여하지 않는다. 그에 비해 의도성이 드러나지 않고 순수한 사랑으로 결연을 맺은 후 목숨을 건 수절을 행한 기녀는 상대적으로 높은 위상을 부여하고 있다. 기녀의 가정 내 안주와 그 위상 차등의 의미는 기녀와 사대부 남성의 욕망이 절충된 결과에서 비롯된다. 기녀는 정상적인 여성의 삶을 살고자 하는 자의식 때문에 희생적인 내조와 목숨을 건 수절을 감내하게 되고, 남성은 능력과 정조를 겸비한 이상적인 여성을 아내로 삼고자하는 욕망을 강하게 드러낸 것이다. 그 결과 기녀는 가정 내부에 안주하게 된 것이다. 그러나 그 위상에 있어서는 순수한 애정결연 후 수절을 행한 기녀를 우위에 두고 있으니, 이는 고소설에 흐르는 애정지상주의 가치관에서 비롯된 것이라 할 수 있다. Gisaeng's love story of old novel shown in various patterns became main stream of love story owing to their specific social position in late Chosun Dynasty. Gisaeng is the object of love affair and becomes the sponsor to support man's success, and assists man's out door activities in full scale. Despite of these kinds of important roles, novel structure was to be finalized that Gisaeng was supposed to be at home in the end. In this case Gisaeng's fideliry was confronted in front of sexual morality which Chosun Dynasty required. The pattern of Gisaeng's staying at high official's home was support and fidelity. In case of staying as concubine which was regarded as lower social position, there are two kinds, supporting man as a recognition of previous Gisaeng's life and staying as second wife with appealing the pure minded feeling. In case of becoming regal wife or similar graded wife, they supported man's success aggressively and kept their chastity after marriage and finally they got reward and then became almost regal wife. And even though there was no absolute support for man, if they got married with only pure love and kept fidelity. They were also regarded as good wife and rewarded and position graded up. In the conclusion, there is fantastic combination of support and fedelity systematically. But support of Gisaeng was not regarded as a great devotion because they intended to lean on high official's position. But pure love without hidden intention and fatal fidelity and faithfulness of Gisaeng were regarded as better devotion compared to support. Balance of high officials and Gisaeng's desire caused the meaning of Gisaeng's staying home and the revel of their position. Gisaeing wants to manage the normal life and man wants to get married ideal lady with ability and fidelity. So Gisaeng stayed home. But the upper revel of Gisaeng focuses on pure love and chastity, this was originated from old novel's main theme about love.
