Watermarking has been studied extensively, and many watermarking methods have been proposed so far. However, the existing watermarking methods cannot be used directly in wireless broadcast environments. This paper introduces a broadcast -based watermarking system and proposes an object split watermarking method. The object split watermarking method applies a watermark to an object (e.g., 2D copyrighted image). In particular, the server divides the object into cells of grid and broadcasts these cells to a client. The client tunes into the broadcast channel, downloads all the cells that correspond to the object, and applies a watermark to several cells based on a number of predefine watermarking positions. Then, the client stores the information of watermarked object in the watermarking database. Through simulations, we compare the performance of the proposed methods in terms of copyright protection.
