This study describes the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) certification policy for approving the use of Type II, III, and IV deicing/anti-icing fluids on small category airplanes. These fluids can be characterized as non-Newtonian, pseudo-plastic fluids, also known as "thickened" fluids. Deicing fluids are used before takeoff to remove frost or ice contamination, while anti-icing fluids are used before takeoff to prevent frost or ice contamination from occurring for a period of time(referred to as "holdover time") after application. Thickened deicing/anti-icing fluids can affect airplane performance and handling characteristics and their residue may cause stiff or frozen flight controls. This study also describes an approval process that may be used by type certificate holders and applicants for a type certificate under parts 23 to support operational use of these fluids on their airplanes.

To evaluate the therapeutic effects of psychodrama, this study was carried out on 30 hospitalized patients in Seoul National Mental Hospital from Mar. 27 to Aug. 7, 1986. All the subjects had participated in psychodrama as protagonists. The "attitude toward self"(AS) and the "attitude toward others"(AO) scales of Gibson and MMPl were used as pretreatment and postreatment measurement. Pretreatment measurement was done two weeks before treatment. Posttreatment measurement was done two weeks after treatment. The results were compared with those from control group in order to exclude possible effects of other treatment modalities. The results were as follows. 1. In magic shop technic, large number of patients represented their own problems rather than their environmental or family problems, and the main issues in psychodrama were family conflicts. 2. The changes of 'AS' scale scores after practice of psychodrama had no statistical meaning compared with those from control group. 3. The mean 'AS' scale scores showed marked increase after psychodrama (P<0.005), but there were no significant changes in the control group. In the psychodrama group, the changes of 'AS' scale scores were more prominent than those of 'AS' scale scores (P<0.005). 4. Among the items of "Attitude toward Others", 473 item (Whenever possible I used to avoid from being in a crowd) showed possible changes most significantly after pratice of psychodrama. 5. The changes of MMPI profiles after practice of psychodrama showed no difference statistically except the Pd scale, which showed marked decrease after practice of psychodrama (P<0.025). 6. Immediately after psychodrama, the patients expressed themselves that they were helped by the psychodrama in terms of catharsis, interpersonal skill, spontaneity, self-awareness and guidance in the order named. Two weeks later, however, cathersis was diminished, whereas self-awareness and insight were increased positively.

"The FAA's Next Generation Air Transportation System" is a comprehensive overhaul of U.S National Airspace System to make air travel more convenient and dependable, while ensuring the flight is as safe, secure and hassle-free as possible. At its most basic level, NextGen represents an evolution from a ground-based system of air traffic control to a satellite-based system of air traffic management. This evolution is vital to meeting future demand, and to avoiding gridlock in the sky and at U.S airports. NextGen will open worldwide's skies to continued growth and increased safety while reducing aviation's environmental impact.

In this study, we investigated whether long short-term memory (LSTM) can be used in the future to predict F10.7 index data; the F10.7 index is a space environment factor affecting atomic oxygen erosion. Based on this, we compared the prediction performances of LSTM, the Autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model (which is a traditional statistical prediction model), and the similar pattern searching method used for long-term prediction. The LSTM model yielded superior results compared to the other techniques in the prediction period starting from the max/min points, but presented inferior results in the prediction period including the inflection points. It was found that efficient learning was not achieved, owing to the lack of currently available learning data in the prediction period including the maximum points. To overcome this, we proposed a method to increase the size of the learning samples using the sunspot data and to upgrade the LSTM model.
