The purpose of this study is to present an analysis method for the prediction of the changes m ground conditions. To this end, three dimensional convergence displacements are analyzed in several ways to estimate the trend of displacement changes. Three-dimensional arching effect is occurred around the unsupported excavation surface including tunnel face when a tunnel is excavated in a stable rock mass. If the ground condition ahead of tunnel face changes or a weak zone exists, a diagnostic trend of displacement change is observed by the 3 dimensional measurement and numerical analysis. Therefore, the change of ground condition and the existence of a weak zone ahead of tunnel face can be predicted by monitoring 3-dimensional absolute displacements during excavation, and applying the methodology (the ratio of L/C, $C/C_o$, etc.) presented in this study.

This paper provides a structured financial analysis that informs about the sustainability of earnings and E/P ratios. The E/P ratio measures the amount that investors pay for a dollar of current earnings. Investors buy futures earnings, so should pay less for current earnings if the earnings cannot be sustained in the futures. If earnings are temporarily high, investors should pay less per dollar of earnings than if earnings were temporarily depressed. While income statements identify some transitory items, the investor is still left with uncertainty as to whether the remaining earnings are sustainable. This paper estimates a model that supplies probabilities of the sustainability of earnings. The model aggregates information in the financial statements into a composite score that serves as a red flag about the sustainability of earnings. In empirical tests, the scoring identifies non-sustainable earnings, and also explains cross-sectional differences in E/P ratios. The paper also finds that stock returns are predictable when traded E/P ratios differ from a line fitted to sustainable earnings scores. So, the analysis either points investors to stocks with different risk or to stocks where earnings are mispriced given the information about their sustainability.
