Water repellent and waterproofing agents fail to act work properly if cracks or detachment occurs outside. The method of making mortar was tested by classifying it into two methods: direct water-repellent put in concrete and water-repellent spray to sand method. It was found that the compressive strength was decreased as the amount of water repellent was increased. As a result of measuring the contact angle, all of the specimens were hydrophobic. The spray method showed greater water repellent effect than the direct mixing method.

Cracks may occur in reinforced concrete (RC) structures due to various physical and chemical factors, and the growth of cracks causes deterioration of the structure's performance. It is important to prevent the expansion of cracks through periodic diagnosis of cracks in structures. In order to enable free crack exploration even in a narrow space, a construction robot using a Mecanum wheel that can move up, down, left and right and rotate in place was designed. High-quality crack images were periodically collected through the camera, and the image fragments stored during the exploration were combined into a single photo after the exploration was completed. The robot detected cracks with a width of 0.2 mm or more on the concrete probe surface with an accuracy of about 90% or more.

Predicting the compressive strength of concrete is important for shortening construction time and reducing construction costs. In this study, the coefficients required for maturity method and compressive strength prediction equation were calculated by measuring the cement hydration reaction rate, concrete setting time and ultimate strength. The experiment was conducted in an isothermal environment of 10°C, 20°C and 30°C using a normal Portland cement, and the experiment was conducted with a total of 9 levels of W/C (40%, 50%, 60%) of 3 levels for each temperature. As a result of comparing the predicted strength and the measured strength for each blend, only an error of less than 5% was found for all blending and curing periods.

Arc metal spraying is a widely used method for improving the performance of construction structures such as corrosion resistance and electromagnetic wave shielding. However, when arc metal spraying is applied to a concrete structure, adhesion performance may deteriorate. Therefore, the effect of each surface treatment method on the physical properties between the arc metal spray coating and concrete was reviewed by evaluating the deposition efficiency and adhesion performance according to the arc metal spray surface treatment method (surface reinforcing agent, roughening agent, and sealing agent). As a result, it is suggested as an optimal surface treatment condition to induce non-interface failure by using a roughening agent and to improve the properties of concrete and metal coatings by applying a surface reinforcing agent and sealing agent.

Corrosion of reinforced concrete embedded in concrete is a deterioration phenomenon due to intrusion of embodied or Airborne chloride ions. Corrosion of a embedded steel increases the volume of the rebar and causes damage to the structure such as cracking and peeling of the concrete. This causes penetration of various corrosive factors and accelerates the corrosion of reinforcing bars, which has a serious effect on the durability of the structure. Researches on the corrosion phenomenon of these rebars by electrochemical methods have been carried out for a long time, but it is a lack of research in Korea. Therefore, in this study, one of electrochemical experimental methods, Tafel extrapolation method, was used to evaluate the performance of reinforcing bars according to the amount of NaCl and LiNO<sub>2</sub> added to concrete.
