        연구논문 : Foot Scan 측정을 통한 노년 여성의 보행 분석

        This study compares the gait characteristics of elderly women during barefoot walking and walking with sneakers. We measured foot angles, max foot pressure, peak plantar pressure of each plantar region, velocity of Center of Pressure(COP), and axis shifting of COP with an RS-scan system. Elderly women`s foot angles were narrower when walking with sneakers than when barefoot walking. We found that the subtalar joint angle (representing ankle joint flexibility) affected walking stability. Regarding the peak plantar pressure of each foot region, pressures were high in the medial regions and the pressures greatly varied depending on the region measured during barefoot walking. The COP moved significantly faster when walking with sneakers than barefoot walking and suggests that elderly women walked faster in sneakers. Axis shifting of the COP decreased during walking with sneakers and indicated that gait balance improved when walking with sneakers. The findings of the present study can be utilized as foundational data for elderly women`s gait characteristics as well as data for the production of functional footwear. Future research that focuses on various types of shoes, age groups, and gender are recommended for the development of more functional footwear for stable gaits.

        연구논문 : 건설현장 작업복의 소재 기능성 향상에 따른 생리반응

        In this paper, experiments to develop working clothes and evaluated, including the current and material-improved working clothes in relation to physiological functionality measurement. Experiments were conducted on subjects after wearing working clothes in an climate chamber, and the thermo-physiological response, such as human body temperature, micro-climate within the clothes, blood pressure, heart rate were measured. In this manner, the physiological functionality of improved working clothes was compared with that of current working clothes and evaluated. The summary of obtained results is as follows: For physiological functionality evaluation through material-improved working clothes, P working clothes showed significantly lower rectal temperature than C working clothes. For mean skin temperature, P`s skin temperature was significantly higher than C`s in the second half of the experiment. P working clothes`s temperature around the thighs in Micro climate was significantly lower than that of the C working clothes. Also, humidity within the clothes showed similar trends. During the exercise period, C working clothes showed higher blood pressure than P, but P showed higher heart rates than C. Also, the oxygen uptake amount was higher in C than P during the exercise period, it explains that the energy consumption amount of P working clothes was smaller than that of C working clothes. Of the subjective evaluation, for temperature sensation, workers wearing P working clothes felt cooler. For humidity, C working clothes showed more humidity. For comfort, P working clothes were better, and for sense of fatigue, workers felt less tired wearing P working clothes. From results above, we can see that physiological functionality improved in the material-improved working clothes in the working clothes for construction site workers. The improvement of working clothes through functionality improvements not only will provide personal pleasantness to constriction site workers, but will also generate efficiency and productivity improvements at construction sites. All in all, the continuous study of functionality improvements in working clothes taking into consideration the human body`s physiological responses is required.

        신부전증과 신병증이 동반된 렙토스피라증의 임상상

        N/A Objectives: Leptospirosis is known to be one of the most frequent zoonosis in Korea in addition to hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome. The pathologic changes of leptospirosis are widespreaded and most prominent in lung, liver, skeletal muscle, adrenals, stomach, spleen, nervous ystem, and kidney. We evaluated the prevalence and clinical findings of leptospirosis associated renal insufficiency and nephropathy. Methods: This study was performed in 103 patients with leptospirosis admitted in Chungnam National University Hospital from Jan. 1985 to Dec. 1992. We classified three group, as uremic patients (serum creatinine21.4mg/dl) with abnormal urinary finding, non-uremic patients(serum creatinine< 1.4mg/dl) with abnormal urinary finding, and non uremic patients with normal urinary finding. Results: 1) Mean age was 49.2year old(17-75years). Ratio of man to woman was 1.5: l. 2) Eighty two patients(79.6%) showed abnormal urinary findings. Twenty patients(19.4%) showed elevated serum creatinine level above 1.4mg/dl, Sixty two patients(60.2%) showed abnormal urinalysis with normal renal function. 3) Fever and chills, maculopapular rash and myalgia were most frequent symptoms and signs. Dyspnea and confused mentality occrued more frequently in uremic patients than that in non-ruemic patients (p<0.01, p<0.05). 4) Platelet counts of uremic patients were significantly lower than those of patients who showed abnormal urinalysis findings with normal level of serum creatinine(p<0.01). 5) Hypoproteinemia was more prevalent in uremic patients than in non-uremic patients(p<0.05). Elevation of serum CPK and LDH level appeared more frequent in uremic patients than in non-uremic patients(p<0.05, p<0.05). 6) All patients with renal involvement recovered completely without renal replacement therapy. Conclusion: We thout that leptospirosis is a systemic infectious disease which shows renal insufficiency in one fifth of victims, and they manifest severe clinical features such as dyspnea or confused mentality. However the outcome of the patients with renal insufficiency is relatively good.

        통기구 유무와 옷 길이 차이에 따른 건설현장 작업복의 온열생리반응

        This study examined thermo-physiological responses according to the design change of construction site working clothes (control (C) working clothes; prototype (P) working clothes). We measured rectal temperature, skin temperature, micro-climate within the clothes and sweat rate. In the evaluation of physiological functionality, based on pattern improvement in working clothes, P working clothes showed significantly lower rectal temperatures, trunk and thigh skin temperatures than C working clothes. It is preferable that rectal temperature should be kept low during work that is not favorable to an increase in body temperature. P working clothes were more physiologically functional than C working clothes. In addition, P working clothes showed significantly lower temperatures in the trunk and thigh parts in a micro climate temperature. We could explain that the side seam zipper on the pants and the gusset on armpit parts create an air permeability effect of lowering the temperature of micro-climate. Aggressive ventilation through the slit of the garment is an important factor for the restoration of the physiological function of the worker at rest between work. Sweat rate showed a higher level in C working clothes than P working clothes. When working in a hot environment, workwear needs to be designed so that the worker is not exposed to thermal stress. Therefore, it was evaluated that the P work clothes used in this study alleviated the physiological burdens of heat.

        늑막삼출환자에서 늑막액 Cholesterol 농도와 늑막액 / 혈청 Cholesterol 비의 진단적 의의

        N/A Objectives: To validate the use of pleural cholesterol and the pleural cholesterol/serum cholesterol ratio (P-/S-CHOL) for differentiating between transudates and exudates in pleural effusion of diverse etiology and to compare the diagnostic efficacy of these parameters with those of Light criteria. Methods: Between September 1991 and June 1992, 118 patients with pleural effusion were studied. We measured pleural protein/serum protein ratio, pleural LDH, pleural LDH/serum LDH ratio, pleural cholesterol and pleural cholesterol/serum cholesterol ratio. Mean values of the parameters in transudates group and exudates group were compared, and the misclassification rate and the diagnostic efficacy for each parameters were calculated. Results: 1) The pleural cholesterol (P-CHOL) values were 21.88±8.86rng/dl for transudates, 86.38±30.09mg/dl for tuberculous exudates, 76.96±18.63 mg/dl for neoplastic exudates, and 85±24.69mg/dl for the parapneumonic effusion group (p<0.001 in tuberculous and neoplastic exudates, p<0.05 in parapneumonic effusion group). And the pleural cholesterol/serum cholesterol ratio (P-/S-CHOL) were 0.17±0.07 for transudates, 0.64±0.16 for tuberculous exudates, 0.52±0.16 for neoplastic exudates, and 0.68±0.17 for the parapneumonic effusion group (p<0.001). 2) Misclassification rates for each parameters in seperating the exudate group from the transudate group were as follows; pleural protein/serum protein ratio (P-/S-PROT) 1 69%, P-/S CHOL 2.54%, P-CHOL 3.38%, pleural LDH (P-LDH) 4.23%, pleura LDH/serum LDH ratio (P-/S-LDH) 4.23%. 3) With a cut-off value of 50mg/dl, P-CHOL had a sensitivity of 96% and a specificity of 10096 for diagnosis of exudates, and with a cut-off value of 0.3, P-/S-CHOL had a sensitivity of 98% and a specificity of 94%. 4) Diagnostic efficiencies for each parameters in seperating the exudate group from transudate group were as follow; P-/S-PROT 98%, P-/S-CHOL 97%, P-CHOL 96%, P-LDH 95%, and P-/S-LDH 95%. 5) In the exudate group, pleural cholesterol was significantly correlated with serum cholesterol (r=0.5S84, p<0.001) and the pleural LDL/Cholesterol ratio was significantly correlated with the serum LDL/Cholesterol ratio (r=0.4408, p<0.001). Conclusion: we think that measurements of P-CHOL and P-/S-CHOL is of great value for distinguishing between pleural exudates and transudates, and high P-CHOL and P-/S-CHOL values appear to be related to increased permeability of pleural capillaries. Therefore, we suggest that determination of these parameters should be included in routine laboratory analysis of pleural effusions.

        시유의 보존기간 및 온도에 따른 일반 유성분 및 산가의 변화

        This study was carried out to investigate the changes of physical and chemical properties according to the preserving periods and temperature in heat-treated market milks (130°C, 2 sec). The market milks were divided into 3 experimental groups, that is 4°C, 15°C and 30°C according to the preserving temperature during 7 days. There were analysed fat, protein, lactose, total solids, solids-not-fat, specific gravity and acid value of market milks in each experimental group. These observations indicated that heat-treated market milks (130°C, 2 sec) may be acceptable physically and chemically after 7 days at 4°C. The results obtained were sunm-iarized as follows 1. Total microorganisms in market milks were found 12X 101 cells at 1st day. Coliform and pathogenic bacteria were not detected. 2. lVlilk fats tended to decrease 3.69% to 3.48% according to the time lapsed in all experimental groups without concerning to the storage temperature. 3. Milk proteins were slowly decreased 3.18% to 3.13% according to the time lapsed without concerning to the storage temperature. 4. Milk lactose was slightly increased 4.41% to 4.55% in all experimental groups. 5. Specific gravity in market milks was 1.0316 to 1.0299, and showed no changes according to the preserving periods and temperature. 6. Total solids and solids-not-fat in market milks were slightly decreased 12.30 to 12.05 and 8.5E to 8.40. 7. Acid values were dramatically increased 0.1289 to 0.3116 at 30`C storage group, while tended to be stable at 4 `C storage group for 7 days.
