유연성 기판 상의 동박의 반복 굽힘 변형에 따른 절곡 빛 굴곡 신뢰성과 인장 특성과의 관계를 규명하기 위해 4종류의 동박 시편의 절곡 신뢰성 실험, 굴곡 선뢰성 실험과 인장 실험을 실시하였다. 절곡 신뢰성 실험은 동박에 5.3%의 굽힘 변형률을, 굴독 선뢰성 실험은 동박에 2.0%의 굽힘 변형률을 반복적으로 인가하면서 전기 저항 변화를 관찰하고 피로 수명을 평가하였다. 또한, 4가지 시편의 인장 실험을 통해 탄성 계수, 항복 강도, 연장 강도, 인성 등의 재료 물성을 구한 결과, 연성과 인성이 우수한 시편의 경우 절곡 및 굴곡 신뢰성이 크게 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 탄성 계수, 항복 강도의 경우 절곡 및 굴곡 신뢰성과 큰 연관성을 보이지 않았다. 이는 절곡 및 굴곡 변형에 의한 금속의 피로 파괴 거동은 재료의 파괴 인성과 밀접한 관계를 가지기 때문으로 판단된다. Folding endurance, bending fatigue and monotonic tensile tests of 4 kinds of Cu foil on flexible substrate was performed to investigate the relationship between folding or bending endurances and tensile characteristics. The repeated 5.3 or 2.0% strain was applied to Cu foil in folding endurance test or bending fatigue test while monitoring the electrical resistance. Elastic modulus, yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, ductility, and toughness were obtained by monotonic tensile test on the same samples. The Cu foil with higher toughness and ductility showed higher reliabilities in folding or bending fatigue. However, elastic modulus and yield strength did not show any relationship with folding and bending reliability. This is because the failures of Cu foil by folding or bending fatigue were closely related to the fracture energy of metal.

Recently, various types of flexible devices such as flexible displays, batteries, e-skins and solar cell panels have been reported. Most of the researches focus on the development of high performance flexible device. However, to realize these flexible devices, the long-term reliability should be guaranteed during the repeated deformations of flexible devices because the direct mechanical stress would be applied on the electronic devices unlike the rigid Si-based devices. Among various materials consisting electronics devices, metal electrode is one of the weakest parts against mechanical deformation because the mechanical and electrical properties of metal films degrade gradually due to fatigue damage during repeated deformations. This article reviews the researches of fatigue behavior of thin metal film, and introduces the methods to enhance the reliability of metal electrode for flexible device.

N/A Objective: Catecholamine play a central role in the regulation of energy expenditure, in part by stimulating lipid mobilization through lipolysis in fat cells. The beta-2 adrenergic receptor(BAR-2) is a major lipolytic receptor in human fat cells. A recent study has shown that common polymorphisms occuring at codon 16 and 27 of the BAR-2 gene are significantly associated with obesity and lypolytic BAR-2 function in adipose tissue. We investigated whether the previously described human BAR-2 gene polymorphisms are associated with obesiy and NIDDM in Koreans. Methods : All subjests were divided into two groups, non-obese and obese group, according to their body mass index. And their clinical characteristics were evaluated. The BAR-2 gene polymorphisms were analyzed by PCR-RFLP in 89 nondiabetics and 106 patients with NIDDM. Results : When the allele frequency of BAR-2 gene polymorphisms was compared with that of western people, there was a significant difference. In our study, there was no significant difference in the allele frequency of BAR-2 gene polymorphisms at codons 16 and 27 between nonobese and obese group both nondiabetics and NIDDM subjects. The frequency of Glu27 homozygotes was very rare(1.1%). Body mass index(BMI), waist-hip ratio(WHR), and serum glucose and insulin secretion of the nondiabetics with polymorphism of codon 16 or codon 27 did not differ from those of the subjects without the polymorphisms. In NIDDM group, the Gly16 homozygotes had a lower BMI than Arg16 homozygotes without any difference in WHR and the other laboratory parameters. Neither clinical or laboratory parameters of the diabetics with the polymorphism at codon 27 differ from those of subjectes without the polymorphism. Conclusion : These findings suggest that the genetic variability in the human BAR-2 gene is not a major determinant for the development of obesity and NIDDM in Koreans.
신생아의 구순열, 구개열의 발생빈도 및 발생요인에 관한 통계적 연구

In terms of frequency, cleft lip and cleft palate rank high on the list of congenital deformities. Unfortunately, little is known regarding the etiology of these malformation, and there is even disagreement as to their frequency of occurrence and relationship to such elements as heredity and environmental factors. In order to attempt adding the statistical data on the incidence of this malformation and shedding some light on the related factors, we studied 123 cleft babies who were born at the 18 general hospitals, located in Seoul during the past 6 years from 1981 to 1986. The following results were obtained. 1. 123 babies of cleft lip and/or palate born among 149191 deliveries, and clefts birth rate was 1213:1. 2. The cleft lip birth rate was 4813: 1, cleft palate birth rate was 4263: 1, cleft lip and palate birth rate was 2617: 1. 3. In general, males were affected about 1.5 times more than females. In cleft lip, cleft lip and palate, males were affected 3 and 1.5 times respectively than females but in cleft palate, females were affected 2 times than male. 4. Cleft birth rate by incidence of year of birth, month, parity and maternal age, was not statistically significant. 5. The incidence of prenatal history during the first trimester was reported on the 21 babies (17.7%) and disease was 4 case, medication was 21 case. 6. The number of associated anomalies were found on the 19 babies (15.4%). 7. Presenting positive family history of cleft patient was ony 3 case and 2.4% of total numbers. 8. Full term pregnancy was reported as 79.4% and prematurity was 17%, simultaneous prematurity and associated anomalies were reported 7 case, cleft lip and palate was 5 case, cleft palate was 2 case.
사회과학연구 : 숙의민주주의의 가능성과 논의의 과제; 정책과정 연구의 관점에서

지난 20여 년간 숙의민주주의가 학계의 큰 관심을 끌어왔다. 대의민주주의가 여러 가지 한계를 드러내면서 그 대안 혹은 보완체제로서 의미를 지니고 있기 때문이다. 국내에서도 1990년대 말에서부터 이와 관련된 논문들이 연이어 출판되는 등 적지 않은 관심이 주어졌다. 그러나 국내에서의 논의는 몇 가지 분명한 한계를 지니고 있다. 주로 이론적이고 철학적인 차원에서의 논의라는 점, 그리고 주로 대의민주주의의 본질적 한계를 지적하고 바로 그러한 맥락에서 숙의민주주의의 의의와 가치를 찾는데 주력해 왔다는 점 등을 지적할 수 있다. 그 결과 숙의민주주의의 현실적 가능성의 문제 등 실질적인 문제에 대해서는 큰 관심이 주어지지 않았다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 정책과정을 연구하는 관점에서 이 문제를 새롭게 정리하고 있다. 즉 정책문제의 변화를 정리하고 이러한 변화를 중심으로 대의민주주의의 문제를 분석하고 있으며, 같은 맥락에서 숙의민주주의의 가치를 정리하고 있다. 아울러 숙의의 기능이 살아날 수 있는지, 또 시민의 참여의지와 참여에 따른 만족도 등을 중심으로 숙의민주주의의 현실 적용 가능성을 점검하고 있다. 끝으로 숙의민주주의 논의를 발전시키기 위한 과제도 함께 정리하였다. There has been a growing concern for deliberative democracy in Korea. However the scholarly works on it, mostly done by mass communications or philosophy students, have revealed its own limitations. They have been very good in introducing the normative arguments for it, but failed to persuade why we should switch to, or rely more upon it. For instance they have criticized representative democracy explaining Arrow`s impossibility theorum, and called for deliberative democracy reminding us of Habermas`s ``public sphere,`` etc. But the problem is that we do not run the representative democracy neither because we believe it is perfect, nor because it is just right. The author finds the reasons for deliberative democracy from a different perspective - in social changes and changing character of policy problems. For instance as policy problems become more unpredictable, he argues, it is becomes unreasonable to elect someone and trust him for any fixed terms. People actually do not trust him, he says, so the representative democracy itself already cannot work effectively. Emphasizing the policy perspective the author criticize those who study public policies for not being involved enough in the deliberative democracy issue. Actual practices that show the possibility of deliberative democracy are introduced. And the problems of SNS-based participatory democracy are also discussed. The author argues that the participation without deliberation could be as dangerous as authoritarianism to democracy.
