      • Emily Dickinson의 詩의 特性과 文體面의 共通性

        Emerson, poe, whitman and Dickinson Were representative of 19 centries' american poests, and what is more, Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was a woman poest who had lived a retired life attached importance to inner life and deeply up which cosmos of soul under the inflence of puritanism. It is remarkable thing that she wrote short poems on death meditating the mutual relations with god, human and nature. In the background on writing her poems, losing the love with a clergyman and young Ben Newton who was living with her family as her father's law apprentice and introduced her to a new word of idears and poems, she might be kept indoor and might wrote such poems thinking her life in agony, wishing the death or meditating on death. Her indispensable condition for writing and thinking the soul faced with death in a viewpoint of theism is that "All Living Things Must Be Died," and she was concerned with individual fate, so that her traditional puritanism is a part of her concerned idears and inner lives, and she had written the poems on death with various and sad tone experimentally or psychologically. In her poems, she had spoken that it is a tragic fact that human. die, it is fatal, it is not to go forever and it metaphorically means eternal life under the supposition on "Immortality of the Soul." The characters of Dickinson's poems are the intended and contraced epigrams with the stern and urgent developing tone and clear sensibility. In short" herself ego is a life that can live onece, and it is cosmologycal and it is full writh implication. In her poems, it is her subject that with death, but he lives forever in inner life. In the styles, she never disregarded the old metre and rhyme, but they are little modified, what is more, formed pecular styles with trimetre or tetrametre, 4 verses, off-rhyme and mataphors without keeping rhymes. Being compressed, aspects of her poems let the readers think each to each and have verbal ambiguities, wits, orginalities and rebelions.

        In Korea, English education according to mordern Curriculm have been operating for over about 90 years since 1880 years' and the Korean finished the normal high school cours had been educated far about hundred hours` English education, and most of students have lacer spending much time to study it with all their hart, but they can't hear and speak in it or can a little, while they are good at English grammar or syntax, translation and another linguistic knowlege. These is the important problem faced us to meet with international society in this day, so that in is required to speak English in the relations with politics, economy, culture, national defense, science and technology. We have so much obstacle in communication with native speakers or others, For the reason, we can't achieve above mentioned aims, while it is not only the problem permitted by R.O.K government but also should be resolved, and It is a dangerous thing that we study only spoken English, because English education should be executed for practical convesation required far someone, while greatly it e be required to receive the higher culture, science and technique of industry ar business, to say nothing of students majoring in English and for the production of scholars, cultured person or technicians such as interpreters and translators, and students may study the language as an academic exercise for training the mind, establishing a language background for study to come. While concentration on grammar or syntax will lead to linguistic knowledge, but it does not ensure an ability to listen and speak English with case. In this situation, I'd like to persiste that English education in Korea should be dome to satisfact for the four speech functions balanced with hearing, speaking, reading and writing. Most of people learned English in Korea is short of English conversational power, so that this paper is witten to find the obstacles in it. At first, supposing a circuit of the receive and productive system in communication or conversation with others, there are hindrances in a part of circuits of the receive first-littening and stimulous and a part of productive system-uttorence of pronounciation. Here I can show that we don't pronounce such as native speaker's-sounds. accents, intonations, especially liaisons and even idiomatic pronounciation, so here it is emphasized that we should be studied or phonetics neglected in our country more and more, because first we can be listened by sound-transmitted through the nerve system-stimulated and uttered with sound. Studying on translation and grammar mainly, we can't understand native speaker's speaking directly and daring that time, speaking words Passed up, to aboid this we should choosen the lntensive Memorized Method, caring of pause. We should receive, as they are, idioms, idomatic pronounication and liasons without saying that they are colloquial language, broken English, dialects or corruption, because they have been using in high and middle class in their society as a centerized or standard language in Tv, radio, newspaper, and magazine. It should be learned the relations reckoned society and language, and especially the difference of consciousness constructions, because, in some cases, we naturally have different understanding on the same thing, and it should be learned the nonverbal interactions that are involving, using or requiring minimal or no use of language, because they are difference or oppostion against ours.
