본 연구는 H₂O₂에 의해 유도된 사람 뇌 신경모세포종 SKN-SH의 사멸에 대항하여 곤드레 및 참취 추출물(CS와 AS)을 함유한 빵의 뇌신경세포 보호 작용에 대한 것이다. 곤드레 추출물을 함유한 곤드레 빵 추출물(CSB) 또는 참취 추출물을 함유한 참취 빵 추출물(ASB)을 SK-N-SH에 처리하면 H2O2에 의해 유발된 세포독성이 추출물 처리에 의해 감소되었고 세포 내 활성산소종과 p-p38 수준이 감소하였다. 관능검사에서 CS를 함유한 곤드레빵, AS를 함유한 참취 빵 그리고 CS 또는 AS를 함유하지 않은 일반 빵을 비교한 결과, 외관, 색상, 향미, 부드러움 그리고 종합적인 기호도에 대해 CSB와 ASB는 NB보다 높은 점수를 받았으나 CSB와 ASB와는 차이가 없었다. 이 결과들은 뇌신경세포에서 항산화 효과와 p38 인산화 억제에 의해 산화적 스트레스에 대항하여 뇌신경 보호 효과를 나타내는 CSB와 ASB의 건강 유익성을 보여주었다. 따라서 CS와 AS는 건강 기능성 소재로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. This study investigated the neuroprotective effects of bread containing extract from Cirsium setidens (CS) or Aster scaber (AS) against H₂O₂-induced death of human brain neuroblastoma SK-N-SH cells. Treatment with bread containing extract from CS (CSB) or AS (ASB) reduced H2O2 cytotoxicity in SK-N-SH cells, the intracellular ROS level, and the phospho-p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) level. In the sensory evaluation, wild vegetable flavor scores of CSB were higher than those of ASB and bread containing 0% CS or AS (NB). In terms of appearance, color, flavor, softness, and overall acceptability, CSB and ASB showed higher scores than NB, but no differences were observed between CSB and ASB. These results indicate that CSB and ASB have potent health benefits in terms of neuroprotection against oxidative stress mediated through antioxidant activity and inhibition of p38 phosphorylation in brain neural cells. Thus, CS and AS could be considered as a health functional material.

With the environmental hyper-turbulence. more strategic importance has been put on corporate restructuring. We make critical assessments about the existing literatures on the topic of corporate restructuring focused upon portfolio and /or organizational restructuring and suggest implications for related further research in this paper. At first, we classify the existing literatures on the topic of corporate restructuring into two main research streams. While the one has made effort to isolate and identify the antecedent conditions that lead to corporate restructuring, the other has focused on the impacts of corporate restructuring upon the performance. And then, we review main arguments, characteristics, and limitations of the two research streams of corporate restructuring. In conclusion, we discuss future research directions and related meaningful issues.
