Wind turbine blades will be required to be longer, lighter, more reliable and more consistent. Therefore it is necessary to lose weight of the wind turbine blades. This points squarely toward prepreg blade production growing. It is important to note however that prepreg blade production as it is today is flawed and that there are ways to improve greatly on the performance of these blades in manufacturing process and in their in-service performance. Through this, we have some detail on the current process and its advantage of cost and weight of blades.

In order to export aircraft components or substructures, it is necessary to get a certification from the main company for the components or an airworthiness certification from the FAA. In Korea, those processes are performed by a small number of private companies for aircraft components. However, airworthiness certification has never been done in the company. To export an assembled aircraft, whether small or large, it is obigatory to get a certification for the aircraft being exported. Currently, the Korean government is trying to ge BASA agreements in a few years. For a mid-size company, it is easier to get the NADCAP audit process for the supply of aircraft components to the main company. In this paper, the overall process of aircraft certification is discussed and airworthiness certification is treated for export aircraft. NADCAP audit process is described in detail by introducing example parts made of coomposite material. This detailed process would be very helpful to a small or mid-size company that wants to develop and deliver aircraft components to foreign companies.

According to recent figures, 35% of the world's blades are made using prepreg blades, by Vestas and Gamesa. They are the most advanced in the market today. In this study, we investigated the validity of the finite element method (FEM) applied to an FE analysis of a hybrid composite wind-turbine blade. Two methods were suggested for a composite FE analysis: using the equivalent properties of the composite or using stacking properties. FE analysis results using the stacking properties of the composite were in good agreement with results of using the equivalent properties. The difference between FE results was approximately 0.6~13.3%.
호버크래프트 블레이드의 Erosion Shield 접착특성

Hovercrafts are useful transportations because it can be operated both and water. Blades for hovercraft ara one of the most important part but it can be damaged by environmental factors. The erosion shield is applied to prevent erosion damage of the blades. Bonding properties between the blade and the erosion shield are very important. This paper is trying to identify the bonding characteristics according to surface treatment. In this study, three kinds of bonding layers and five kinds of surface treatment were applied. Test was achieved according to ASTM D 1002. From the test results, mechanical treatment like etching is the most effective solution than other chemical treatment and the impact absorption pad to reduce the impact damage decreases bonding strength within are experimented range.
에로전 실드의 접착특성에 미치는 접착 막의 흡습의 영향

The properties of adhesive film are degraded by environmental factors such as moisture or salinity. From this reason, this paper has studied about the degradation of adhesion properties between blades and erosion shield for hovercraft by moisture absorption. We performed the test of adhesion properties after surface treatment on STS304 and A6061. Therefore, we could have known that adhesion properties were decreased about 50% because of produced crack inside of adhesive film by moisture absorption through observation of specimens that immersed for ten weeks.
PVA 직물의 방염 개질에 관한 연구: POCl<sub>3</sub>로 개질한 PVA 직물의 열적 및 기계적 특성

PVA 부직포의 방염성을 향상시키기 위하여 POCl<sub>3</sub>로 방염처리하였다. POCl<sub>3</sub>로 처리한 PVA 부직포의 물리적 및 열적 특성을 측정하고 분석하였다. 개질한 PVA 부직포는 대부분 물에 용해하지 않았으나 수축과 스웰링 특성을 보였다. POCl<sub>3</sub>로 방염처리한 PVA 부직포의 열적 특성이 우수하고 방염특성이 원시료 보다 많이 우수한 것을 확인하였다. 그라프트 비와 염색성 사이의 선형관계는 PVA 부직포의 히드록시기와 POCl<sub>3</sub>가 공유결합으로 연결된 것에 기인하는 것으로 분석되었다. The nonwoven poly(vinyl alcohol) [PVA] fabric was modified by treating with phosporyl chloride (POCl<sub>3</sub>). The physical and thermal properties of POCl<sub>3</sub>-modified PVA fabrics were measured and discussed. The modified PVA fabrics were mostly insoluble in water, unlike the original PVA fabrics. However the products showed contraction and swelling properties. TGA analysis results indicated that the POCl<sub>3</sub>-modified PVA fabrics are more thermally stable at more high temperature region. And the fire-proofing ability of the POCl<sub>3</sub>-modified PVA product is better than that of original PVA material. The linear correlation between graft ratios and dyeing ability may be resulted from increase of covalently bonded linkages between hydroxyl groups of orginal PVA fabrics with POCl<sub>3</sub>.
