韓泰鎬 관동대학교 2000 關大論文集 Vol.28 No.1
Wallace Stevens's poetics has been basically interpreted on the interelated theory of Reality and Imagination. His poetic reality and metaphicality is hard to delienate coherently. However, the basic tenets of Phenomenalogy and ThuTzu's practical confucianism have many similitudes in conceptual context and cosmological world view. The philosopical theory of Li and Ki and Thu Tzu's confucianism is a contemplative phenomenal hermeneutics of the dual essential nature : Li(the fundamental nature of things) and Ki(the reality of Li presented to things as they are). Ki could be equivalent to Stevens's Reality and Li is the final poetic creation of his Imagination which strives to draw out life truth in things, reality, and phenomena. His Supreme Fiction or First Idea is his trophes for Li. His poetic process of abstraction reveals the similar consciousness of intertexture of Confucian Li and Ki. His poetic stream of consciousness could be interpreted with Yang's teachings which stress the priority of mind in truth-seeking. Stevens's poetic image is the revelation of poetic mind against the poetic things.
