Fronto-Ethmoidal Osteoid Osteoma with Orbital Extension
홍성문,박일호,이흥만 대한비과학회 2010 Journal of rhinology Vol.17 No.2
An osteoid osteoma is a benign tumor that is usually located in the cortex of long bones and vertebrae and rarely involves paranasal sinuses. We report a case of a 58-year-old woman with right epiphora, orbital pain, and exophthalmos. The mass was removed via an external frontoethmoidectomy approach. After surgery, the patient reported prompt relief of the orbital pain and epiphora, and opthalmologic examination showed improvement of exophthalmos. The post-operative CT scan of the paranasal sinus obtained 1 year later showed no evidence of tumor recurrence or complication. Although osteoid osteoma is rare in paranasal sinuses, it should be considered if there is a bone density mass and complete excision should be performed with care.

While institutional matters such as improvement on Basic Guidelines for Construction Safety are greatly concerned to reduce falling accidents at construction sites, there are short of studies on how to practically predict accident signs at construction sites and to preemptively prevent them. As one of existing accident prevention methods, it was attempted to build the early warning system based on standardized accident scenarios to control the situations. However, the investment cost was too high depending on the site situation, and it did not help construction workers directly since it was developed to mainly provide support operational work support to safety managers. In the long run, it would be possible to develop the augmented reality based accident prevention method from the worker perspective by extracting product information from BIM, visually rendering it along with site installation materials term and comparing it with the site situation. However, to make this method effective, the BIM model should be implemented first and the technology that can promptly process site situations should be introduced. Accordingly, it is necessary to identify risk signs through lightweight image processing to promptly respond only with currently available resources. In this study, it was intended to propose the system concept that identified potential risk factors of falling accidents by histogram equalization, which was known as the fastest image processing method presently, used visual words, which could enhance model classification by wording image records, to determine the risk factors and notified them to the work manager.

The retail prices of meat products were often reported to be not responding appropriately to changes in producer prices, which would provide the impetus to analyze asymmetric price behaviors for various livestock products. This study examined the asymmetric price transmissions of domestic Korean beef, pork, chicken and egg products in marketing channel (from production to retail markets) by using both autoregressive distributed lag and asymmetric error correction models. Both daily and monthly prices were used to investigate whether there is any difference between daily and monthly price behaviors. In addition, influential livestock diseases such as FMD and HPAI were considered in the models to isolate the impacts of the disease on the prices. Asymmetric price transmissions were found for daily prices of products in all market relations, while such asymmetry was not detected for the products that use monthly prices. The existence of asymmetric price transmissions indicates that there are inefficient resource allocations, calling for efforts of all involved parties to improve meat product market efficiency.
