Effects of a Transverse Magnetic Field on an RF-Driven H? Ion Source

We investigated the effects of a transverse magnetic field on a volume H.ion source driven by a radio frequency (RF) or a DC filament. We observed an electron cooling and an enhancement of the H.ion extraction efficiency when a transverse magnetic field was applied. The floating potential in the plasma in front of the extractor was found to increase with the magnetic field intensity, implying that a higher voltage on the plasma electrode would be required to extract the H.ions. In addition, the effect of the transverse magnetic field on the filament arc discharge was investigated.
경계선 지능 아동을 위한 인지능력 향상 기능성 게임 개발

최근 급변하는 우리 사회와 환경요소들로 인하여 보살핌을 필요로 하는 아동의 수가 증가 하 고 있다. 이 중 불우하고 빈곤한 가정에 속하는 아동들은 경계선 지능 아동으로 이어지는 경우가 대다수이며 이를 예방하기 위한 시급한 조치가 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구는 경계선 지능 아동이 발생하는 원인을 규명하여 이를 예방하고 치료할 수 있는 하나의 해결방안으로 기능성 게임을 구 현했다. 해당 게임은 경계선 지능 아동의 취약한 기억력, 집중력, 판단력 향상을 목표로 제작하였 으며 관련분야 전문가와 일반인 30명 대상으로 자문 및 실험하여 효과성이 있음을 확인하였다. Recently, the number of children who are required to take special care are increasing because of the fast-changing society and the environment factor. Among them, most children in poor family are leading to Children with borderline intelligence, so urgent action are needed to prevent this situation. This study is conducted to establish the reason why children with borderline intelligence are taking place. In addition, this study embodies serious game as a solution which is able to prevent and cure this children with borderline intelligence problem. This game was made to improve weak memory, concentration and judgment of children with borderline intelligence and was verified in effectiveness by thirty people and experts.
Effect of a Magnetic Field Induced by Using a Solenoid on a Compact Microwave Proton Source

A compact microwave proton source for the high power proton linear accelerator was proposed and has been developed. A hydrogen microwave plasma in the proton source was ignited using a standard double ridged waveguide and a solenoid at a very low microwave power of 50 W. The magnetic field induced by the solenoid assists not only plasma ignition but its sustainment. The wave absorption efficiency into the plasma and the beam extraction condition depend on this magnetic field. A relatively better region of the wave absorption efficiency exists with fields higher and lower than the electron cyclotron resonance(ECR) field and a good matching can be obtained for an axial magnetic field higher than 1.6 kG without any ECR in the plasma.
Recent R&D Progress of the RAON Injector

The injector for the main driver linac of the Rare Isotope Science Project in Korea has been developed to supply heavy ions up to uranium which will be used for the inflight fragmentation system. The injector has two critical components, superconducting electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) ion sources and a radio frequency quadrupole (RFQ). The physical and engineering designs of these critical components were performed. Prototypes of the 28 GHz ECR ion source and the vane-type RFQ have been fabricated and tested to confirm the design of the major components.
Gas chromatograph-mass selective detector를 이용한 식육 중 잔류농약의 동시분석

This study was conducted to investigate the extraction method for the determination of organochlorine, organophosphorus and synthetic pyrethroid pesticide residues in beef fat by gas chromatography-mass selective detector(GC-MSD). Twenty one pesticide residues in fat were determined using a simple and rapid procedure based on solid-phase extraction(SPE) clean-up cartridges with octadecyl(C18)-bonded porous silica, florisil, 10% deactivated florisil, a tandem C18 and florisil and a tandem C18 and 10% deactivated florisil. Solvent-solvent extraction using acetonitrile was not satisfied to eliminate fat interference for pesticide residue analysis by GC-MSD, and the recoveries of the method in fat ranged from 16.2 to 57.3% except DDT(83.2%). The recoveries of SPE methods using a tandem C18 and Florisil was 59.6~123.8% except fenitrothion(135.2%), the SPE method was verified the satisfactory performance of pre-treatment for pesticide residues analysis in fat by GC-MSD. The efficiency of florisil deactivated with 10% water has been not proved significantly on recoveries of pesticide residues in fat.

최근 커피전문점에서 커피나 간식 등을 소량만 구매하고 장시간 자리를 차지하는 일명 ‘카공족’이 등장하게 되었다. 카공족은 커피전문점을 이용하는 고객의 트렌드 변화에 따라 나타나게 되었는데 카공족은 커피전문점에서 다른 고객과의 소음으로 인한 갈등 유발, 장시간 테이블 차지로 인한 영업손실을 끼치고 있었다. 사회적인 쟁점이 될 정도로 문제가 심각한 실정이나 현재까지 마땅한 해결책이 제시되지 않고 있다. 본 연구는 카공족으로 인해 발생하는 문제점을 예방하고 해결하는데 도움을 주고자 스마트 감성 조명 디바이스를 구현하였고 이를 20~30 대 대학(원)생 대상으로 파일럿 테스트를 진행하여 유의미한 결과를 도출해내었다.
HPLC-MSD를 이용한 식육 중 합성항균제의 동시분석

This study was conducted to develop the analytical method about simultaneous determination for synthetic antimicrobials in muscle by high performance liquid chroma-tography-mass selective detector(HPLC-MSD). Solid phase extraction(SPE), matrix solid phase dispersion(MSPD) and liquid-liquid extraction(LLE) have been adapted as pretreatment procedures for HPLC-MSD. Among various solvent tested, methanol was chosen for extraction of synthetic antimicrobials in muscles. For the optimized response, the values of various MS parameters including fragment voltage, drying gas flow, nebulizer pressure, drying gas temperature were verified. The average recovery rates using MSPD and SPE for muscles of bovine and pork were 78.9-127.1% and 78.3-121.7%, respectively. This method was verified the satisfactory performance for fourteen synthetic antimicrobials excepting carbadox in muscle of pork as detection limit of 0.05 ㎍/g on API/ES SIM mode.
RFQ Design for the RAON Accelerator’s ISOL System

The heavy-ion accelerator RAON has the advantage of having both an in-flight (IF) and an isotope separator on-line (ISOL) system. Two radio frequency quadrupoles (RFQs) will be installed in the RAON: the main linear accelerator (LINAC) RFQ will be used to accelerate the two-charge state 238U for the IF system, while the post-accelerator RFQ will be used to accelerate low-current isotope beams from the ISOL system. In this paper, the post-accelerator RFQ design for the ISOL system is reported. A beam current of 1 pμA was used, and the input beam and the output beam energies were 5 keV/u and 400 keV/u, respectively. Moreover, the design was optimized by reducing the total length and power, adjusting the beam quality. To quantify the influence of thermal expansion on the frequency, we calculated the frequency difference according to deference between the vane’s tip and the body’s diameter.
