Design of a 200-MHz RFQ for 3-MeV He++ Beam Irradiation

To produce more efficient power semiconductors by reducing the switch loss, we studied heliumionimplantation instead of gold diffusion and electron irradiation. The 3-MeV energy and 0.1-mAcurrent for about a 10 × 1014 ions/cm2 dose is required for silicon wafers of ten inches in diameter. A radio-frequency quadrupole (RFQ) can be a good accelerator to meet the above requirements. Wedesigned a four-vane type 200-MHz RFQ for this purpose. A 25-keV/u He++ beam with a 10-mApeak current was extracted from an ion source and was matched to the RFQ by using electrostaticlenses. The RFQ is designed to accelerate He++ ions (A/q = 2) up to 750 keV/u. A 200-kWtetrode RF amplifier drives the RFQ with a duty factor of 1%. After the RFQ, a beam wobblingsystem and a beam transport system are required to irradiate the beam onto large silicon wafers. This work summarizes the detailed design of the irradiation system.
First Year Operation of the KOMAC

The installation of a 100-MeV proton linac at the Korea Multi-purpose Accelerator Complex(KOMAC) was completed in December 2012, and the 100-MeV linac were successfully commissionedwith user service started in July 2013 through either a 20-MeV beamline or a 100-MeV beamline. In addition, we have accumulated operation data for stabilizin the linac system and the utilities. This paper reports both our experiences that were accumulated during the commissioning and theoperation of KOMAC 100-MeV proton linac and our future plans.

The goals of this study is providing a background data for the establishment of future policies by deriving problems from analyzing the decisive factors that affect the fear of sexual assault crimes against women in the subway as well as reinforcing the security services for the citizens who take the subway, contributing to the development of sexual assault-related studies in the subway, which have not been seriously investigated so far. For that reason the decisive factors that affect the fear of subway sexual assault crimes through the measures like considerations and critical evaluations on existing theories and empirical studies were composed of the experience of being a criminal victim, the experience in gender-role socialization, the recognition of disorder and the perception of the danger of crimes, and an analytical framework and hypotheses were established by organizing each factor. As a survey method an interview survey with structured questionnaires at the entrance of a subway station targeting women who are more than twenty years old and take the subway regularly were performed along with empirical evaluations using statistical analysis techniques such as reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis, path analysis and so on were performed on the basis of collected samples. The results of study showed that all of the decisive factors -- the experience of being a criminal victim, the experience in gender-role socialization, the recognition of disorder, and the perception of the danger of crimes -- were proved to affect the female’s fear of sexual assault crimes in the subway, especially the experience in gender-role socialization was the most influential. Therefore political and strategic approaches as the establishment of legal and institutional systems, the continuing development of enforcing programs against sexual assault crimes, the supplement of enforcement personnel, the expansion of financial support of the government, the improvement of social awareness, and more should be arranged. 본 연구는 지하철 내에서의 여성의 성폭력범죄의 두려움에 영향을 미치는 결정요인을 분석하여 문제점을 도출해 냄으로써 향후 정책방향을 위한 기초 자료로 제시함과 동시에, 지하철 이용시민들에 대한 경찰의 대국민 치안서비스를 한 단계 up-grade시킬 뿐만 아니라 아직까지 미미한 지하철 성폭력 관련 학문영역의 발전에도 기여하는데 그 의의가 있다. 이에 따라 범죄 두려움에 영향을 미치는 결정요인에 대한 기존 이론 및 경험적 연구들에 대한 고찰과 비판적 평가 등을 통해서 지하철 성폭력범죄의 두려움에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 범죄피해경험, 성역할사회화경험, 무질서의 인지, 범죄위험의 지각을 구성하였으며, 또한 각 요인들을 체계화하여 분석틀과 가설을 설정하였다. 조사방법으로는 현재 서울 지하철을 주로 이용하는 만 20세 이상의 성인여성을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용한 지하철역 출구 면접조사를 실시하고, 아울러 수집된 표본자료를 토대로 신뢰도 분석, 다중회귀분석, 경로분석 등의 통계분석 기법을 활용하여 실증적으로 평가하였다. 연구결과 범죄피해경험과 성역할사회화경험, 무질서의 인지, 범죄위험의 지각 모두 지하철을 이용하는 여성들의 성폭력범죄에 대한 두려움에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 성역할사회화경험의 영향력이 높게 나타났다. 따라서 법적·제도적 장치 마련, 성폭력 단속프로그램의 지속적 개발, 단속전담인력의 확충, 정부지원예산의 확대, 사회적 인식의 개선 등 정책적·전략적 접근방안이 마련되어야 할 것이다.
