It is not only true that the meaning of stylistics is under the control of individual expressions by writers, but also is monopoly of the west. However, it has well shown a general and transcendental view as manifested things of nature and universal order in our classics such as the theory of Ha Ryun and an anthology preface of Mok Eun which was written by Lee Chum and in the oriental poetry, either'. When we think stylistics is a consequent phenomenon with a life meaning of an individual, whether it is the relative ego or higher self, it must be revised that stylistics is nothing but an arrangement of vehicle and a connection of tenor. If we enlarge about it, stylistics has more an inclusive property in the oriental view which, we think, is one of the appearance of a life phenomenon

To learn about how the modern poetry movement, which started in the Western world earlier, has been developed, reflected and practiced by whom and which aspects in the process of its transition to modern Korean poetry, I researched the intellectual aspect of modern poetry, which is the supposition of modernism debate in my previous studies. I also studied, in a broader context, the functional relation between the modern era's situation and modern poetry, and the concept of western originated modernism and its literary status by connecting it with the various 20 century's trend of thoughts. While the clear concept and categorization of modernism itself is difficult, I consulted my earlier research and continued to establish the included concept and category of modernism within the spirit of modernism. I found that modernism in literature regards both all harmful circumstances and spirits which are the result of a one-sided acceleration of civilization as the restriction of individual freedom. It is like a revolting spirit of the times. The world which modernism pursues is represented as an enmity against urban areas and in this case, the word enmity does not mean to destroy the whole civilization but to have the will to seek a sound civilization as its base. In this research, I divided my study into two parts to find out how modernism, which seems to be indefinite. has been transferred and continued in literary works during the 1930' s in Korea. In the first part, I checked the trend of the works of theorists and poets who, in any way, became involved in the Modern Korean Poetry Movement from the early 1930s to the 1950s. The second part deals with the Korean poets of the 80's who lived during the percolating process of the first half of Korean modernism. and who are regarded as being successful, for they are based on the keen aesthetic of urban space. I selectively took their works of this line and examined them. As a result, I found that one group takes root in Kim Choonsoo and another, Kim Sooyoung.
