Structured Polymer Film Preparation by Spin Coating of Polymer/Solvent/Non-solvent

Breath figure method is introduced to prepare porous polymer film with hexagonally packed pores of a specific size from a few hundred of nanometer to several micrometer. During spin coating, nonsolvent of water is supplied from humid air and condensed on polymer/solvent solution. After complete drying of non-solvent(water) and solvent, traces of condensed water droplets remain in polymer film. Specially, when solvent is water miscible, humid environment could be avoid by adding small amount of water to polymer/solvent. Simply by increasing water content and decreasing rotating speed, pore size could be controlled in a one-step. When boiling point of non-solvent is higher than that of solvent, non-solvent content increases due to active solvent evaporation during spin coating. Phase separation by increase in non-solvent content makes structure in spin-coated film. Phase separated film has different refractive index from compact film without phase separation. By varying polymer molecular weights and non-solvent content, optical thin films could be prepared, which have anti-reflection (AR) effect and different transmittances (or reflectance) of visible lights with various wavelengths.

This study analyzes the forage production situations of the forage production complexes using idle land cropping after rice harvest to identify economic feasibility and magnification measures of the forage production. Major research results can be summarized as follows: When compared with importing forage price, production cost of forage cropping after rice harvest provides 41~45% economic benefits. Besides income increase to farmers, the results indicate that the forage cropping after rice harvest has much potential to increase land and machinery use efficiency. Also, to expand the roughage production acreage and to save production cost, it is recommended that land should be selected in the places with well planning and drainage and forage production complex should be composed of 2~6 farmers and 20~60 ha of farm size to improve machinery use efficiency.
기존 원형케이슨방파제에 신규 원형케이슨 추가설치에 따른 파와 구조물간의 상호작용 영향 평가

The design and the construction are carried out by installation of new caissons on the back or the front of old caissons to increase the stability of old caisson breakwater. In this study, we use the eigenfunction expansion method to analyze the effects of wave structure interaction when new circular caissons are installed on the back or the front of old caissons. The comparison of numerical results between present method and Williams and Li is made, and the wave force and the wave run-up acting on each circular caisson are calculated for various parameters by considering the wave structure interaction. 기존 케이슨방파제의 안정성을 높이기 위해 케이슨 전면 또는 후면에 추가로 신규 케이슨을 설치하여 보강하는 설계 및 시공사례가 발생되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 원형케이슨 전면 또는 후면에 신규 원형케이슨이 추가설치될 경우 파와 구조물간의 상호작용 영향을 분석하기 위해 고유함수전개법을 이용하여 수치해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석의 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해 Williams and Li의 수치 해석결과와 비교를 수행하였으며, 추가로 설치되는 원형케이슨의 다양한 변수에 따른 개별 원형케이슨에 작용하는 파력 및 파처오름 특성을 분석하였다.
신생아 임상연구에서의 Good Clinical Practice

Clinical research is a necessity, not an option, for developing better and new medicines and therapeutic modalities. But in the course of clinical research, there are rules and guidelines that should be followed to ensure the due respect for persons, beneficence, and justice for persons who voluntarily participate in the research as described in the Belmont Report. Good Clinical Practice ( GCP) is an “international scientific and ethical quality standard for designing, conducting, recording, and reporting”clinical trials. T he main purposes of GCP would be to protect rights, safety, and well-being of trial subjects, in compliance with the principles of Declaration of Helsinki, and to assure that the data obtained from clinical trials are credible. In order to achieve these, investigators must be fully aware of the meanings as well as actual procedures involved in the research and should make the best effort to comply with GCP. For those individuals who belong to vulnerable populations, such as neonates, in addition to the general principles of GCP, further measures to ensure added protection should be implemented. It is our duty to develop and provide better care through clinical research even for neonates. But in doing so, we have to make sure that the importance of protecting the rights, safety, and well-being of the subjects supersede the interests of science and society.
