        Brand asset management to build powerful brand asset is needed to have more powerful comparative advantage. In this study, critical factors of the structure of brand asset are considered. For this purpose, the relationships between the brand asset and the structure of brand asset are evaluated. And measurement of the competitive power of the specific brand at the point of clients by describing the systematic measuring methodology of the brand asset and its applications is studied. And then, the model that can be used to solve and improve the general realities and level of brand management is proposed. For this, we recognized the strategic importance of brand asset and the brand asset management with previous studies. And we improved the model that showed that the increasing of brand competitive power makes purchasing intention and the brand loyalty increase at the point of clients by pointing out the limit of previous studies. With this improved model, we investigated the brand competitive power on digital electric home appliances about images, sounds, and communications. To test this model statistically, the structural equation model that is most popular in the latest is used. By using the result of this study, companies will be able to measure of their own and the other's brand competitive power and understand the method of benchmarking and the improvements. Moreover, the government will be able to draw up the plan and the system that support to secure the brand competitive power and bring up the global brand that have international competitive power.

        고차 구조방정식모형에서 잠재변수의 측정방법에 관한 연구

        The estimation method of latent variables in high order factor model has strict limitations. In the PLS method, the accurate scores can be measured only when the number of manifest variables related to each latent variables are the same. In this study, the analysis was studied by comparing the numbers of manifest variable related to the latent variables when they are the same or not. Comparing the numeric analysis with the beta-value, through examples measuring the beta-value by increasing the number of manifest variables, and yielding the fit index by comparing the numbers of manifest variable related to the latent variables when they are the same or not. Therefore, the repeated use of manifest variables should not be used except for when the number of manifest variable related to the latent variables are the same.

        In general, causal relationship for theoretical concepts is hypothesized based on precedent studies and tested by a structural equation model. However, when theoretical backgrounds are scarce or absent, the causal relationship is hypothesized operatively by the purpose and scope of research and tested by overall goodness-of-fit indices such as GFI and RMR. Such a causal relationship can't be most appropriate statistically because it is selected as specific relationship from researcher's view among possible causal relationships. Therefore, this study is to propose a procedure for identifying the causal relationship that produces the best GFI among possible causal relationships for theoretical concepts.

        This study is about customer segmentation method using decision tree analysis. The factors affecting customer segmentation are sex, job, age and recent buying site. The objective of this study is to understand customers accurately under the question that "what is the accurate method to segment the customers by their characteristics?" and to find which variables have great influence on customer segmentation.

        전기제품 에너지 소비효율의 통계적 양산 관리 방법에 대한 연구

        Most electric products produced during the manufacturing process are produced after design and mass production under a given control standard. In particular, the development phase should present the criteria for the production process by setting appropriate limits based on the performance being targeted. Even if the standard of performance is set considering the performance of the process, measuring the performance of the product after actual production results will cause nonconformities with the expected results. Among the performance of electrical products, Energy standards represented by energy consumption efficiency continue to be of importance, and are mandatory standards that correspond to national standards in most countries. Therefore, statistical quality control of these standards shall basically have a large number of test equipment for each product, ensure sufficient test time and continuous sampling of product samples. In the end, companies that produce and sell electric appliances are striving to control mass production at a great cost, but this is not acceptable. This study presents basic characteristics of the energy efficiency of electrical products and proposes and conducts a case study on statistical production control methods for performance variation across products under the standards about domestic and international regulations.

        EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION TO ANALYZE THE EFFECTS OF OIL DILUTION ON UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN A DIESEL ENGINE

        Due to the gradual reinforcement of emission regulations, exhaust gas after-treatment systems have become more complicated, and various engine control algorithms have been applied to diesel engines. However, the misuse of advanced exhaust gas after-treatment systems could cause additional problems. For instance, diesel vehicles that use of a diesel particulate filter (DPF) generally require periodic active regeneration. While operating active regeneration by in-cylinder postinjection, the fuel impinging on the cylinder wall would become the cause of oil dilution. Furthermore, if, in the event of excessive oil dilution, engine oil overflows in the engine oil pan, engine stalling or unintended acceleration (engine over-run) can occur, as lube oil flows into the combustion chamber through the intake manifold. The present study tested engine overrun by overflowing engine oil diluted with fuel on various engine operating conditions and clarify the engine control factors effect on engine stalling or unintended acceleration using regression analysis. Vehicle tests based on engine test analysis were also conducted to evaluate and reproduce the influence of unintended acceleration by automotive lube oil backflow in real driving. Vehicle test results indicate that unintentional acceleration could occur due to oil dilution, which put the driver at risk.

        등온으로 가열되는 경사진 평판위를 흐르는 자연대류의 열적 불안정성

        등온으로 가열되는 경사진 평판위의 충류 자연대류 유동에서 2차적인 정규 와동의 발생조건을 이론적으로 조사하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 선형 안정성 이론과 크기위수 해석을 근거로 교란량들의 주 흐름방향의 변화를 고려하는 전파이론이 적용되었다. Prandtl수가 매우 큰 극한 경우에 대하여 임계 조건을 구하여 본 결과, 그 임계 조건은 기존의 연구결과들보다 물에 대한 실험치에 보다 접근함을 보였다. A theoretical study for analyzing onset conditions of secondary flow in the form of vortex rolls in the primary natural convection over an inclined isothermally heated plate is carried out by employing the order-of-magnitude analysis under linear stability theory. For this purpose the propagation theory considering the variation of disturbances in the main flow direction is tested here. The present critical conditions for the infinite Prandtl number are found to approach the experimental data of water more closely than other theoretical results.

        This study was designed to decide the effectiveness after gastric carcinoma operation. A total of 256 cases of the resected stomachs examined at a certain hospital during the period of 4 years from January 1974 to December 1978 were classified according to Lauren's method based on the histological investigation. Lauren classified the gastric carcinoma into two types : intestinal type carcinoma and diffuse type carcinoma. When classified by Lauren's method, intestinal type carcinoma is more effective than diffuse type carcinoma after operation.

        A warranty is a contractual obligation incurred by a producer in connection with the sale of a product. The warranty specifies that producer agrees to remedy certain failures in the product sold. There have been many articles dealing with warranties. but they have studied about optimal warranty cost for the warranty period. In this study, a optimal preventive maintenance time interval is computed. The optimal preventive maintenance time interval minimizing warranty cost for the warranty period is discussed. It is assumed that failure rate is increasing and the failure rate after preventive maintenance or corrective maintenance lies between good as new and bad as old.

        Biotinoyl Domain of Human Acetyl-CoA Carboxylase: Structural Insights into the Carboxyl Transfer Mechanism

        Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) catalyzes the first step in fatty acid biosynthesis: the synthesis of malonyl-CoA from acetyl-CoA. As essential regulators of fatty acid biosynthesis and metabolism, ACCs are regarded as therapeutic targets for the treatment of metabolic diseases such as obesity. In ACC, the biotinoyl domain performs a critical function by transferring an activated carboxyl group from the biotin carboxylase domain to the carboxyl transferase domain, followed by carboxyl transfer to malonyl-CoA. Despite the intensive research on this enzyme, only the bacterial and yeast ACC structures are currently available. To explore the mechanism of ACC holoenzyme function, we determined the structure of the biotinoyl domain of human ACC2 and analyze its characteristics using NMR spectroscopy. The 3D structure of the hACC2 biotinoyl domain has a similar folding topology to the previously determined domains from E. coli and P. Shermanii, however, the ‘thumb’ structure is absent in the hACC2 biotinoyl domain. Observations of the NMR signals upon the biotinylation indicate that the biotin group of hACC2 does not affect the structure of the biotinoyl domain, while the biotin group for E. coli ACC interacts directly with the thumb residues that are not present in the hACC2 structure. These results imply that, in the E. coli ACC reaction, the biotin moiety carrying the carboxyl group from BC to CT can pause at the thumb of the BCCP domain. The human biotinoyl domain, however, lacks the thumb structure and does not have additional non-covalent interactions with the biotin moiety; thus, the flexible motion of the biotinylated lysine residue must underlie the “swinging arm” motion. This study provides insight into the mechanism of ACC holoenzyme function and supports the "swinging arm" model in human ACCs.
