Streptozotocin 유발 당뇨쥐를 이용한 상백피와 구찌피의 혈당조절효과

The inhibitory activity of inhibitory materials on α-glucosidase, which are the key enzyme for carbohydrate digestion and the prevention of diabetic complications, was investigated. This experiment was designed to examine the hypoglycaemic effect of four water extracts inhibitory materials. We found two materials, Moriradicis Cortex (MRC) and Cudraniae radicis Cortex (CRC) remarkably inhibited α-glucosidase. Two inhibitory materials were examined in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice. High blood glucose was induced in mice by intraperitoneal injections of steptozotocin (STZ, 150 mg/kg). Oral administration of MRC and CRC lowered the blood glucose level in the high blood glucose mice. MRC and CRC strongly showed inhibitory activity by 25.1 and 28% respectively in mice loaded with starch. In the case of the maltose load test, MRC and CRC showed inhibitory activity by 19.84 and 22.08%. We used Acarbose for positive standard. We compared with Acarbose and starch groups but also compared with Acarbose and maltose groups. When compared with Acarbose and starch groups, activity of MRC was reduced lower than Acarbose but CRC was similar reduction to carbose. When compared with Acarbose and maltose groups, activity of MRC and CRC was similar reduction to starch groups. But starch groups showed more inhibitory effects higher than maltose groups. When compared with duration 3 and 7 days, MRC and CRC were reduced higher than Acarbose. CRC was inhibitory effect higher than Acarbose but MRC was inhibitory effect lower than Acarbose. CRC-administered group duration 6 days showed more inhibitory effect higher than duration 3 days.
Clinical Impact of MDR Pathogen during Bridge to Lung Transplantation

Background As lung transplantation and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) are increasing in worldwide, bridge to lung transplantation (BTT) is also increasing and showing good Results. A few reports of lung transplantation, whether multidrug resistance (MDR) pathogens or not showed no difference of clinical outcome. However there are only a few reports about effects of MDR during BTT. Therefore, this study aimed to examine whether the presence of an MDR pathogen in the respiratory system before transplantation could affect clinical outcome. Methods We retrospectively analyzed medical records of adult patients who underwent ECMO before lung or heart-lung transplantation from 2011 to 2018 in Asan Medical center. Culture result performed in the respiratory system before transplantation were analyzed and divided into MDR and non-MDR groups to determine intensive care unit (ICU) stay, post-operation hospital duration, and post-operation ventilator duration. Results Of 41 patients, the median age was 55 years and 26 (63.4%) were male. MDR pathogen was identified in 20 patients, and MDR-Acinetobacter baumanii was cultured the most (13 patients, 31.7%) among pathogens. Pre-operative duration was longer in MDR group, about 14 [Interquartile range (IQR) 11-13] vs 10 [IQR 4-15] days (p=0.009). There was no difference in total ICU stay (43 [IQR 28-62] vs 33 [IQR 22-55], p=0.175), post-operation ICU stay (16 [9-25] vs 15 [11-35], p=0.638), post-operation hospital duration (64 [32-214] vs 60 [42-111], p=0.990), and post-operation ventilator duration (10 [5-18] vs 11 [6-31], p=0.744) between two groups. Also, there was no significant difference in 1-year survival between the two groups (70% vs 76%, p=0.462). Conclusion In patients who underwent BTT, even though the MDR pathogen was detected before transplantation, post-transplantation outcomes are no different.

Objectives It is clinically important to identify T790M mutation in patients who are suspected to have acquired resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI). We therefore aimed to investigate the risk factors of acquired T790M mutation among patients with lung adenocarcinoma with EGFR mutation who were treated using EGFR-TKI, and to identify the clinical impact of re-biopsy. Materials and Methods This is a multicenter, retrospective cohort study in South Korea. From January 2007 to June 2017, patients with adenocarcinoma with EGFR mutation who received re-biopsy and were treated with EGFR-TKI were included in this study. Results A total of 352 patients were included in this study. T790M mutation was identified in 156 (41.9%) study patients at the time of re-biopsy; the median duration from initial biopsy to re-biopsy was 17 months. The univariate logistic analysis showed that exon 19 deletion (odds ratio [OR], 1.643; p = 0.026) and the absence of L858R (OR, 0.627; p = 0.042), and previous EGFR-TKI treatment duration (OR, 1.039; p < 0.001) were associated with T790M mutation. The univariate Cox proportional hazard model showed that brain metastasis at initial diagnosis (hazard ratio [HR], 1.439; p = 0.030) was associated with T790M mutation. Among the patients with T790M mutation at re-biopsy, the osimertinib user group (n = 90) had a better 1-year survival (68.7 vs. 58.3%, p = 0.048) than the osimertinib non-user group (n = 66). Conclusion Re-biopsy might affect the clinical course of patients with EGFR-mutant adenocarcinoma, especially patients with a history of long-term use of EGFR-TKI, exon 19 deletion mutation, and brain metastasis at initial diagnosis
눈의 물리적인 특성과 유사한 펄 원료 개발 및 이를 이용한 화장료 조성물 제조방법

화장품 분야에서 펄 안료는 다양하게 적용되어져 왔다. 지금까지 가장 대중적으로 사용된 펄 안료는 마이카 기재에 산화철이 코팅된 것이었지만, 최종 제품에 이와 같은 펄을 사용하게 될 경우 천연 마이카에 함유된 불순물로 인해 약간의 불투명한 노란 색상이 띄게 된다[1,2]. 본 연구는 눈과 같은 반짝임을 제공하는 펄 안료 개발에 초점을 맞췄고, 눈과 같은 효과는 펄 안료의 구조와 순도 등의 영향 때문인 것을 알게 되었다. 특히, 이번 펄 안료 개발은 유리 기재와 산화철을 코팅시켜 눈의 광학적인 값(refractive index)과 입자 크기(particle size)를 눈과 유사하게 개발하였고 이는 눈과 같이 화려한 반짝임(glittering) 효과를 구현할 수 있게 되었다. 그리고 메이크업 제품에 본 펄 안료를 적용하여 화려한 제품을 개발하게 되었다. Pearlescent pigments have been widely used in cosmetic applications. Up to date; the most widely used pearl effect pigment is the mica-based pigment, which uses natural mica as the substrate that is in turn coated with metal oxide interference layer. However, when natural mica is employed as a base material the final product often has a yellowish color, mainly due to the fact that natural mica contains low levels of iron as an impurity[1,2]. This study was focused on developing a pearl pigment which might have a similar sparkling effect as snow. This effect was found to be due to its structure and purity, and this concept was also applied to development of our pearl pigments. More specifically, this invented pearl effect pigments are the mixture of glass-flake and glass-flake coated metal oxides and present the optical properties of snow matrix such as refractive index and particle size, unlike only the glass-flake or glass-flake coated metal oxides to be applied in. Using base material having similar physical properties (refractive index and particle size) as snow matrix as platelet for pearl effect pigments, these invented pigments present a three-dimensional glittering effect of the snow matrix. With this invented pigments an applied; we achieved the beauty of snow crystal from makeup products containing these pigments.

<P>Following the recent scaling theory developed for irreversible adsorption of wormlike chains (WLCs) from a dilute solution, we address several subtle issues regarding the buildup of irreversible adsorption layers. By performing Brownian dynamics simulations for WLCs, we study zipping dynamics of an adsorbing chain and alignment effects due to the interaction with preadsorbed WLCs. The irreversible chemisorption proceeds by zipping on the surface with a typical loop size S-0 The measured loop-size distribution comprises a slowly decreasing small' loop regime and a large loop regime decreasing proportional to s(-5/2), separated by the typical size so. From the computational study of an incoming chain interacting with a preadsorbed one lying flat on the surface, we provide the crossing probability. A strong bias toward crossing (vs alignment and reflection) is observed; and no strong cooperativity of chain alignment is found.</P>

In this paper, a robust yaw stability control design based on active steering control is proposed for electric vehicles. The control system consists of an inner-loop controller (i.e., in this paper, called as a Steering Angle-Disturbance Observer(SA-DOB) which rejects an input steering disturbance and an output yaw disturbance simultaneously by feeding a compensation steering angle) and an outer-loop controller (i.e., PI-type Tracking Controller) to achieve the control performances. The control performance of the proposed yaw stability control system is verified through computer simulations and experiments.
Super-helical filaments at surfaces: dynamics and elastic responses

<P>Bio-filaments often behave in a way unexpected from the standard semi-flexible polymer chain model (WLC), when squeezed to a surface, confined in microfluidic channels or clamped by their end. This calls for the super-helical filament model, going beyond WLC, where the filament forms a helix much wider than its diameter. We study this model using Brownian dynamics simulations, focusing on filaments confined to a surface by a strong potential. We analyze shapes and shape fluctuations under tension where excited states comprising a number of inflection points (twist-kink) can be stabilized. Pulling/releasing experiments during a cycle of increasing/decreasing tension show hysteresis. We find that the excited state, once established, is long-lived and the life time grows with the filament length cubed. Twist-kink diffusion involves position (filament shape) dependent friction for which we provide analytical expression. Dynamic responses to tension are investigated <I>via</I> numerical simulations and several mechanisms of shape relaxation are found and rationalized.</P>
