The Internet's rapid growth is reminiscent of television's early years. We know something important and historic is happening, but we are in the middle of a story with an unpredictable outcome. Users world-wide are adopting the Net at an incredible rate, companies are jumping on the bandwagon to display their wares, but cybercritics call the Net a fad. In has been some time since we've had something this exciting to debate! The Electronic Commerce will emerge both as an extremely useful tool for business planning and also as part of a company's marketing mix. As tools the Internet search and resource tithes can aid any discipline by opening a high speed gateway to a wealth of information. also as a tool, the Net assists with text-based communication: One-to-one E-nail conversation and E-mail conferencing via news groups and mailing lists. In the marketing discipline, the Internet serves as distribution channel and communication medium. Marketers use the Net for direct distribution of digital products and for electronic storefronts. The Net marketing communication function includes advertising, public relations and sales promotion.

Cr(VI) is a known toxic heavy metal which is found frequently in many industrial sites. Contaminates soil and ground water with Cr(VI) is a big enviromental concern due to the high toxicity. Permeable Reactive Barrier(PRB)is an innovative remedial technology intensively studied and developed recenty. The most popular PRB material is zero-valent iron which is environmentally favorable and cheap. Scrapped steels and precleaned scrapped steels were tested in this study for Cr(VI). Scrapped steels were precleaned wuth detergent, acetone, hexane.The precleaned scrapped steel showed relatively high reactivity for Cr(VI). The results indicate that the scrapped steel could be used as PRB material after proper pretreatments.
국내 생명보험회사의 CAMEL식 경영평가제도 유효성에 관한 연구

본 논문은 CAMEL식 경영평가제도에서 사용하고 있는 가중치의 중요성과 가중치의 조정으로 평가모형의 유효성을 높일 수 있다는 것을 MDA, Logit, Probit 기법을 이용하여 실증적으로 분석하고 있다. 우선, 현행 평가모형에 부여된 가중치를 이용하여 생보사의 경영평가등급의 분류정확도에 대한 유효성을 분석하였다. 분석결과에 따르면 건전과 부실에 대한 분류 정확도는 높게 나타났으나 CAMEL 제도의 주목적인 등급 분류정확도는 낮게 나타났다. 그래서 CAMEL식 평가제도의 문제점을 규명하고 가중치 조정에 따를 유효성의 변화를 분석하기 위하여 새로운 가중치를 도출하였다. 그리고 새로운 추정가중치를 이용하여 등급의 분류정확 도를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 가중치를 조정한 후에 건전생보사와 부실생보사의 분류정확도는 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으나 등급의 분류정확도는 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 현행 CAMEL 평가제도의 유효성을 높이기 위해서는 가중치의 조정이 필요하다는 것을 규명하고 합리적인 가중치 조정방안을 제시하였다. This treatise is analyzing positively that can improve effectiveness of estimation model by the importance of weight and control of weight that is using in CAMEL way system. First, analyzed effectiveness about classification accuracy of domestic life insurance companies using weight that is given in current estimation model. According to analysis result, classification accuracy about solvent and insolvent appeared high but grade classification accuracy that is Main target of CAMEL system appeared low. So, drew new weight to examine closely problem of CAMEL way estimation system and analyze change of effectiveness by weight control. And analyzed classification accuracy of grade using new presumption weight. After adjust weight as analysis result, classification accuracy of solvent and insolvent life insurance companies did not show difference but classification accuracy of grade was appeared that rise. Therefore, institute that control of weight need improve effectiveness of current CAMEL estimation system and presented reasonable weight control plan.

<P>The optical properties of polymer nanospheres were tuned by <I>in situ</I> transformation of metal structures on their surfaces. Silver nanoparticles (NPs) deposited on the polystyrene nanospheres were transformed into metal hollows made of gold/silver alloy by a galvanic replacement reaction. The metal hollows made of gold/silver alloy were finally changed into solid gold nanoparticles by the additional treatment of chloroauric acid. Through the transformation process, the optical resonance peak of metal-coated polystyrene (PS) nanospheres was tuned in the 410 to 820 nm region. The transformation of metal nanostructures on the surface of PS nanospheres was monitored and characterized by UV–visible–near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The described protocols should be applied to prepare the metal-coated polymer nanospheres with tunable surface plasmon resonance (from 450 to 820 nm) which would be very useful for biological assays. </P>
Controlling the hydrophilicity of microchannels with bonding adhesives containing surfactants

<P>In this study, a novel protocol to control the hydrophilicity of microchannels as well as to bond the microfluidic devices in all polymer-based biomedical devices is suggested. It is demonstrated that the contact angle of water in the microchannel surface can be tuned using conventional pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) containing surfactants. The surfactants are immersed in a hydrophobic PSA film in hydrophobic environments (air). The water–adhesive interface reconstructed quickly and became hydrophilic upon contact with water. Both the contact angle and volumetric flow rate (VFR) of water in microchannels could be systematically controlled by changing the concentration of the surfactants in the PSA film and by using different types of surfactants with different chemical structures. The VFR of water changed in a two-order range (1–10<SUP>2</SUP> nl s<SUP>−1</SUP>) when the concentration of surfactants was varied from 1% to 10%. We believe that the use of surfactants favors mainly the control of flow rate and the protocol suggested here to control the flow velocity in a broad range should find a wide application. Although the hydrophilic coating formulated with surfactants has proven effective in improving the flow rate of liquid, the surfactants located at the interface could be dissolved into the fluid samples. And the beneficial result of the use of surfactants is restricted to microfluidic devices where the liquid stays briefly in contact with the channel walls. The protocol suggested in the research can be directly applied to the development of low-cost, high-speed and reliable bonding techniques for disposable polymer-based microfluidic devices.</P>
