Backgrounds/Aims: Parenchymal-sparing anatomical hepatectomy (Ps–AH) based on portal ramification of the right anterior section (RAS) is a new technique to avoid unnecessarily transecting too much liver parenchyma, especially in cases of major anatomical hepatectomy. Methods: We prospectively assessed 26 patients with primary hepatic malignancies having undergone major Ps–AH based on portal ramification of the RAS from August 2018 to August 2022 (48 months). The perioperative indications, clinical data, intra-operative index, pathological postoperative specimens, postoperative complications, and follow-up results were retrospectively evaluated. Results: Among the 26 patients analyzed, there was just one case that had intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma The preoperative level of α– Fetoprotein was 25.2 ng/mL. All cases (100%) had Child–Pugh A liver function preoperatively. The ventral/dorsal RAS was preserved in 19 and 7 patients, respectively. The mean surgical margin was 6.2 mm. The mean surgical time was 228.5 minutes, while the mean blood loss was 255 mL. In pathology, 5 cases (19.2%) had microvascular invasion, and in the group of HCC patients, 92% of all cases had moderate or poor tumor differentiation. Six cases (23.1%) of postoperative complications were graded over III according to the Clavien–Dindo system, including in three patients resistant ascites or intra-abdominal abscess that required intervention. Conclusions: Parenchymal-sparing anatomical hepatectomy based on portal ramification of the RAS to achieve R0-resection was safe and effective, with favorable short-term outcomes. This technique can be used widely in clinical practice.
On the Performance of Cooperative Transmission Schemes in Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks
Tuan, Nguyen Trong,Kim, Dong-Seong,Lee, Jae-Min IEEE 2018 IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS - Vol.14 No.9
<P>This paper studies the performance of six transmission schemes, namely single-hop, multihop, selective decode-and-forward, amplify-and-forward, incremental decode-and-forward (IDF), and incremental amplify-and-forward (IAF) schemes. For a fair comparison, these schemes are constrained in terms of maximum outage probability and end-to-end throughput. In this paper, we investigate the impact of propagation channel conditions including both line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight environments by exploiting Nakagami-m fading channel. Our simulation results show that, by utilizing a return channel, the IDF and IAF cooperative schemes achieve better performance than the other schemes in most cases.</P>

Objectives: The objective of this study was to characterize mental health issues among Vietnamese healthcare workers (HCWs) and to identify related factors. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 990 HCWs in 2021. Their mental health status was measured using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale. Results: In total, 49.9%, 52.3%, and 29.8% of respondents were found to have depression, anxiety, and stress, respectively. The multivariable linear regression model revealed that factors associated with increased anxiety scores included depression scores (β, 0.45; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.39 to 0.51) and stress scores (β, 0.46; 95% CI, 0.41 to 0.52). Factors associated with increased depression scores included being frontline HCWs (β, 0.57; 95% CI, 0.10 to 1.10), stress scores (β, 0.50; 95% CI, 0.45 to 0.56), and anxiety scores (β, 0.41; 95% CI, 0.36 to 0.47), while working experience was associated with reduced depression scores (β, -0.08; 95% CI, -0.16 to -0.01). Factors associated with increased stress scores included working experience (β, 0.08; 95% CI, 0.00 to 0.16), personal protective equipment interference with daily activities (β, 0.55; 95% CI, 0.07 to 1.00), depression scores (β, 0.54; 95% CI, 0.48 to 0.59), and anxiety scores (β, 0.45; 95% CI, 0.39 to 0.50), while age was associated with reduced stress scores (β, -0.12; 95% CI, -0.20 to -0.05).Conclusions: Specific interventions are necessary to enhance and promote the mental health of HCWs so they can successfully cope with the circumstances of the pandemic.
Resource Allocation for Virtualized Wireless Networks with Backhaul Constraints
LeAnh, Tuan,Tran, Nguyen H.,Ngo, Duy Trong,Hong, Choong Seon IEEE 2017 IEEE communications letters Vol.21 No.1
<P>In this letter, we study resource allocation for wireless virtualized networks considering both the backhaul capacity of the infrastructure provider (InP) and the users' quality-of-service (QoS) requirements. We focus on the profit gained by a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), which is a middleman who buys physical resource from the InP, bundling them into virtual resources called slides before selling off the service providers. The objective of the MVNO is to maximize its profit while guaranteeing the backhaul constraint and users' QoS by jointly allocating the slices and the uplink transmit power to the users. To solve the formulated mixed integer non-convex problem, we propose a distributed solution framework based on Lagrangian relaxation to a find suboptimal decision about slice and transmit power allocations. We further propose a low-complexity solution based on the concept of a matching game that does not require any global information. Numerical results are provided to evaluate the performance of the proposed schemes.</P>
Terpenylated coumarins as SIRT1 activators isolated from Ailanthus altissima.
Dao, Trong-Tuan,Tran, Tien-Lam,Kim, Jayeon,Nguyen, Phi-Hung,Lee, Eun-Hee,Park, Junsoo,Jang, Ik-Soon,Oh, Won-Keun American Society of Pharmacognosy ; American Chemi 2012 Journal of natural products Vol.75 No.7
<P>Four new terpenylated coumarins (1-4) were isolated from the stem bark of Ailanthus altissima by bioactivity-guided fractionation using an in vitro SIRT1 deacetylation assay. Their structures were identified as (2'R,3'R)-7-(2',3'-dihydroxy-3',7'-dimethylocta-6'-enyloxy)-6,8-dimethoxycoumarin (1), 6,8-dimethoxy-7-(3',7'-dimethylocta-2',6'-dienyloxy)coumarin (2), (2'R,3'R,6'R)-7-(2',3'-dihydroxy-6',7'-epoxy-3',7'-dimethyloctaoxy)-6,8-dimethoxycoumarin (3), and (2'R,3'R,4'S,5'S)-6,8-dimethoxy-7-(3',7'-dimethyl-4',5'-epoxy-2'-hydroxyocta-6'-enyloxy)coumarin (4). Compounds 1-4 strongly enhanced SIRT1 activity in an in vitro SIRT1-NAD/NADH assay and an in vivo SIRT1-p53 luciferase assay. These compounds also increased the NAD-to-NADH ratio in HEK293 cells. The present results suggest that terpenylated coumarins from A. altissima have a direct stimulatory effect on SIRT1 deacetylation activity and may serve as lead molecules for the treatment of some age-related disorders.</P>

Solving Inverse Kinematics of DeltaRobot Using Anfis
TuongPhuoc Tho,Nguyen Truong Thinh,Nguyen Trong Tuan,Ma Ngoc Thanh Nhan 제어로봇시스템학회 2015 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2015 No.10
Thepaperpropose a methodology using the ability of ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) to solve inverse kinematics problem of Delta parallel robot. A five layer neural network of ANFIS is used to adjust input and output parameters of membership function in a fuzzy logic controller. The hybrid algorithm is used for training this network. In this algorithm, the least square estimation method is applied for the tuning of linear output membership function parameters and the error backpropagation method is used to tune the nonlinear input membership function parameters, it is possible to predict position end-effector exactly against inverse kinematics and reduce mathematical representation of the system. Virtual Reality (VR) is used to simulation trajectory of robot. Computer simulations with Matlab ver. 2013b conducted on 3DOF robot Delta shows the effectiveness of the approach.

Objectives: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has increased the workload of healthcare workers (HCWs), impacting their health. This study aimed to assess sleep quality using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and identify factors associated with poor sleep among HCWs in Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 1000 frontline HCWs were recruited from various healthcare facilities in Vietnam between October 2021 and November 2021. Data were collected using a 3-part self-administered questionnaire, which covered demographics, sleep quality, and factors related to poor sleep. Poor sleep quality was defined as a total PSQI score of 5 or higher. Results: Participants' mean age was 33.20±6.81 years (range, 20.0-61.0), and 63.0% were women. The median work experience was 8.54±6.30 years. Approximately 6.3% had chronic comorbidities, such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus. About 59.5% were directly responsible for patient care and treatment, while 7.1% worked in tracing and sampling. A total of 73.8% reported poor sleep quality. Multivariate logistic regression revealed significant associations between poor sleep quality and the presence of chronic comorbidities (odds ratio [OR], 2.34; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.17 to 5.24), being a frontline HCW directly involved in patient care and treatment (OR, 1.59; 95% CI, 1.16 to 2.16), increased working hours (OR, 1.84; 95% CI,1.37 to 2.48), and a higher frequency of encountering critically ill and dying patients (OR, 1.42; 95% CI, 1.03 to 1.95). Conclusions: The high prevalence of poor sleep among HCWs in Vietnam during the COVID-19 pandemic was similar to that in other countries. Working conditions should be adjusted to improve sleep quality among this population.
