A Recursive State Estimator in the Presence of State Inequality Constraints
Mohamed Fahim Hassan,Mohamed Zribi,Hamed M. K. Alazemi 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2011 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.9 No.2
This paper proposes an optimal recursive estimator to estimate the states of a stochastic discrete time linear dynamic system when the states of the system are constrained with inequality constraints. The case when the constraints are strictly satisfied is treated independently from the case when some of the constraints are violated. For the first case, the well known Kalman filter estimator is used. In the second case, an algorithm which uses a series of successive orthogonalizations on the measurement subspaces is employed to obtain the optimal estimate. It is shown that the proposed estimator has several attractive properties such that it is an unbiased estimator. More importantly, compared to other estimator found in the literature, the proposed estimator needs less computational efforts, is numeri-cally more stable and it leads to a smaller variance. To show the effectiveness of the proposed estima-tor, several simulation results are presented and discussed.

Aldol condensation of 2-acetylthiophene, 2-acetylpyrrole and 2-acetylpyridine with different aromatic aldehydes were carried out in water in heterogeneous phases in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as cationic surfactant at room temperature. All the reactions occur in a short time with excellent yields of steroselective hetarylpropanones in water as environmental friendly solvent.

A grower broiler experiment (from 14 to 35 days of age) was conducted to study the effect of using two commercial mixtures of organic acids (Galliacid$^{(R)}$ and Biacid$^{(R)}$) to substitute antibiotic growth promoter (Eneramycin$^{(R)}$) on performance, carcass characteristics and intestinal microflora. 400 (Ross 308) broiler chicks were used. A basal corn-soybean meal diet were formulated and served as a control treatment. The control diet was supplemented with either 0.06% Galliacid, 0.1% Biacid or 0.02% Eneramycin. Birds fed the Galliacid-supplemented diet had 16% (p<0.001) more gain than the control, while those fed the Biacid- or Enramycinsupplemented diets recorded 3 and 5.5% more gain, respectively. Organic acids mixtures and Enramycin supplementation significantly (p<0.001) improved feed conversion ratio. These results indicated that birds fed either organic acid mixtures or Enramycinsupplemented diets utilized feed more efficiently than those fed the control diet. Galliacid significantly (p<0.01) increased dressing percentage and bursa weight (% body weight). No significant differences were detected on liver, spleen and thymus (% body weight) among treatments. Galliacid or Biacid significantly (p<0.001) decreased intestinal Escherichia coli and Salmonella compared to the control and Enramycin-supplemented diets. Dietary Enramycin significantly (p<0.001) decreased Escherichia coli, but had no effect on Salmonella counts. In conclusion, organic acid mixtures are more efficient than antibiotic growth promoter (Enramycin) in improving broiler performance and decreasing intestinal Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp., and could be successfully used to substitute antibiotic growth promoters in broiler diets. However, not all of the organic acid mixtures gave the same effect either on performance or intestinal bacterial counts.
Analysis of Stressed Timoshenko Beams on Two Parameter Foundations
Mohamed Taha Hassan,Mohamed Nassar 대한토목학회 2015 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.19 No.1
In the present work, the static and dynamic behaviors of a Timoshenko beam subjected to a static axial compression load and adynamic lateral load resting on a two parameter foundation have been studied using Adomian Decomposition Method (ADM). After verifying the obtained expressions by comparing its results with those found in literature, it is used to calculate the criticalloads in the static case, natural frequencies for free vibration and beam response in forced vibrations. Parametric study is conductedto investigate the influences of different beam and foundation parameters on the critical loads, the natural frequencies and theresponse of the beam.

The mason bee Osmia (Helicosmia) latreillei Spinola is one of the dominant species of bees throughout Egypt, and can be found commonly in the Suez Canal Region. The species visits numerous plant species of the family Asteraceae and is considered the most important pollinator of certain crops such as sunflower. This species and some other solitary cavity nesting bees are threatened by fragmentation of their nesting habitats. Several attempts were made to establish and propagate O. latreillei, and success was achieved for re-nesting it in various artificial materials such as wood and polystyrene with rolled paper straws. These artificial nests were established at the conservation area of the Bee Research Centre, Suez Canal University, in order to study the nesting behavior and biology of O. latreillei under artificial conditions and to document their natural enemies. Biologically, there was no significance difference between the life cycle of O. latreillei under natural and artificial nesting conditions. This solitary bee was univoltine, individuals active only during Spring, and attacked by diverse enemies, with Stelis (Stelis) murina Pérez and chrysidid wasps considered the two most major pests of this wild bee species.

Electrospun nylon-6/chitosan (nylon-6/Ch) nanofibers were prepared by nanospider technology. Quaternary ammonium salts as antibacterial agent were immobilized onto electrospun nylon-6/Ch nanofibers via surface modification by soaking the mat in aqueous solution of glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride (GTMAC) at room temperature overnight to give nylon-6/N-[(2-hydroxy-3-trimethylammonium)propyl] chitosan chloride (nylon-6/HTCC). The morphological, structural and thermal properties of the nylon-6/ch nanofibers were studied by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Biological screening has demonstrated the antibacterial activity of the electrospun nanofibers against Gram negative bacteria, Escherichia coli 35218, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Gram positive bacteria,Staphylococcus aureus 24213 among the tested microbes. Thus, the study ascertains the value of the use of electrospun nanofibers, which could be of considerable interest to the development of new antibacterial materials for biomedical applications.
Gluteal Region Reshaping of Massive Weight Loss Patients—A Decision-Making Strategy
Mohamed Ali Mahgoub,Ahmed Mahmoud Zeina,Ahmed Mohamed Bahaa El-Din,Ahmed Hassan El-Sabbagh,Franco Bassetto,Vincenzo Vindigni 대한성형외과학회 2022 Archives of Plastic Surgery Vol.49 No.3
Background Massive weight loss (MWL) is a very common presentation that you may face as a plastic surgeon. Each patient has his own individual criteria, so, you should work according to a well-organized plan, especially when such cases have concerns about their gluteal area contour that were neglected before by many surgeons. A decision-making strategy was used to give a personalized treatment for targeting gluteal region reshaping of MWL patients. Methods This study considered all patients with MWL subjected to buttock reshaping. There was no randomization in treatment; there was a case-by-case assessment. We analyzed the features of the buttocks, the type of surgery performed, the outcomes, and the complications. Results Fifty two patients were included (41 females and 11 males), ages ranged between 21 and 66 years. Demographic data, preoperative body mass index (BMI), duration of surgery, type of surgery, and postoperative complications were collected. Statistically significant improvements were observed in gluteal ptosis and patient satisfaction grades. Conclusion Aesthetic improvement of the buttocks involves either augmentation or contouring that may be obtained by liposculpture, surgical lifting, or combination. Patients with MWL have high expectations and are often treated with multiple procedures. Thus, an easy strategic approach personalized on each patient to treat multiple adjacent areas in one operation is necessary. Adipose tissue distribution, gluteal skin status, and BMI were the main factors that can forcefully affect our plan to guarantee reduction of unpleasant results and complications and improve patient satisfaction.
